The breakfast offered a satisfactory start to the day. While quite basic, it provided a decent spread including a selection of breads, eggs, sausages, pastries, various cheeses, hams, and jams. The coffee machine offered both coffee and hot chocolate, though I personally didn't find the beverages particularly enjoyable. A major highlight was the exceptionally friendly staff, who were always eager to assist with any questions. The location is truly excellent, directly opposite the train station and just a short walk from the city center.

My biggest oversight was not noticing the lack of air conditioning when booking, which proved challenging during a summer stay. Regarding cleaning, I requested service on Wednesday (mid-week for our Sunday-to-Sunday stay), but only the towels were changed, and the bed was partially made. Given other reviews I'd read about cleanliness, I decided not to pursue it further. Our "apartment" was unfortunately located behind the hotel, right in the parking lot and adjacent to the smoking area. This meant that with windows open due to the summer heat, we experienced constant noise and smoke infiltration from the yard. Considering all these issues, the amount I paid for this stay felt far too high; half the price would have been more realistic.

We stayed in Aalborg for three nights, and arrived very late for the first night and there was self check-in available. The rooms were clean, functional, and comfortable, just as depicted in the photos. We had a room with window to an inner court, so it was really quiet at night. The included breakfast was great - different bread and rolls, spread variety, scrambled eggs, mini sausages, fruit, coffee, juices etc. The elevator is a cute 'old-style' one, with heavy doors (but barely fits two people and suitcases ;)). Staff was very friendly and helpful, too. Excellent value overall - we would totally stay here again!

Just be aware that the bathroom amenities are a bit basic (e.g., one combined shampoo/body wash, only cups and tissue paper provided) and that the hotel location is central enough to head to the waterfront / "city center", but it is still a bit of a walk. It is really close to bus & train station though, so very easy to head to the airport.

We enjoyed staying at the Prinsen Hotel in Aalborg. We appreciated the warm welcome we received at reception, and helpful information about what there is to see in Aalborg - historic streets contrasting with modern buildings such as the House of Music (2014) and the Utzon Centre (opened 2008) the last building designed by Jørn Utzon the architect behind the Sydney Opera House. Our room overlooked the car park at the back - we were happy with this - and was lovely and quiet. The hotel has a main entrance at the front (3 minutes walk from the railway station) and also has a back entrance on to the car park - making it an even shorter walk into the centre of Aalborg. Our room was very clean.  We were catching a train at 750am and had plenty of time to get to the station after a good breakfast.

Nice check in. Desk person called me by name when I checked in. Nice lobby and breakfast area….candlelight. Very hygge😊. Rooms are clean, but sparse. Very nice breakfast buffet. Cool, old elevator.

Uncomfortable pillows. Very small and challenging bathroom facility. Dispenser combination of body wash and shampoo…no hair conditioner. Men don’t care, but women do! Our room faced the street that was under construction. Very noisy early in the morning, but not the hotels fault.

location was really nice, parking also possible, you have to reserve the spot separately though.

The rooms were not close to each other as requested and in advance. Also toilet really not in suitable place. Breakfast ok, not superb, but ok.

The room was extremely well laid out so it didn't feel small despite being listed as only 8m2. The bathroom was a good size and had a proper window, and the toilet paper could be reached without needing yoga positions. The desk worked well, the bed was comfortable, the room temperature great. The location was perfect, very central in Aalborg and yet the room was quiet (facing the back).

There’s nothing I like more than an old fashioned that’s not under those big chains! Service here is exceptional. All the staff that I’ve met take pride in their work. Love it that the room and bathroom are big enough to feel comfortable. I can even roll out my yoga mat in the room! Kettle and cups are available in the room. It is only a 2 min walk from the train station and 5 mins away from the central. Room is kept clean daily with beds made properly. Grateful for the breakfast included that has scrambled eggs and a variety of cold cuts.

Those were hot days and there was no airconditioning. However I knew it and they gave me a fan. So all good still.

Calm hotel Modern new beds. Street sounds were not a problem. Breakfast is OK.

Neon sign outside of window (room 119) gives a lot of light into the room, had to "fix" this with pushing the curtains into the window sil. Bathrooms could use an update, functional, but a bit dated.

Very nicely situated hotel by the train station. The room and the beds were really comfortable and clean. Kemal & Alice were very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast buffet had everything I could ask for and it was exquisite and delicious. I definitely would recommend this place during a trip to Aalborg. Room amenities were quite satisfactory.

The sink drain was clogged but it did not cause any major inconvenience. Bathroom amenities could be better.
