The room looked bit old but was spacious, clean and with private bathroom. The hotel is just 3min walk from the bus station. No breakfast available (which was actually fine with us). You can buy coffee for 100jpy at reception and buy some food from the convenience store just in front of the hotel. Otherwise, you can find a large coffee shop right next the bus station. Also, the large outdoor onsen was closed for maintenance at the time we stayed. Instead, we accessed the small one, which was lovely! The lady from reception adjusted the temperature for us, as it was too hot and the experience was really nice!

We stayed in January, which is a cold month (we reached -13C at night). It always felt bit chilly in the room, even with the heater on. Despite of this, it was okay at sleep time, as the duvets did keep us warm. This was the most expensive stay in my 3-week travel in Japan and I think that the value for the money isn't that good. However, it was one of the cheapest when compared to similar hotels in the same town.

very friendly staff. super clean. comfortable Japanese beds. great location. Would recommend for a basic stay.

the private outdoor onsen was never available and the private inside ones were very dated. For 700yen go to bathe in the beautiful outdoor public Hirayu Mori Onsen.

It was quite convenient to the bus station and the buses were more frequent than we thought. We stayed here after a day at Kamikochi. We then went to shinhotaka ropeway and returned to the bus station before continuing to Matsumoto. The rooms were large but the beds were not super comfy. We asked for extra futons and were given them grudgingly. They made all the difference. The outdoor onsen was lovely and the entry foyer was a welcoming place to sit. We had a nice view of the mountains from our room. The wifi was fine though there was very few power points.

The towels were very small. Otherwise the place was great.

I loved everything about this hotel. The staff were polite and helpful with any queries that I had, and the hotel itself had a very peaceful atmosphere. The private onsens were such a bonus (first come first served, there'll be a sign to indicate whether it's vacant or occupied, and they suggest you only spend 30 mins in there at a time so others aren't waiting long for you). There's a coin washer/dryer machine, plus they offer massages too. The room was huge for one person and had everything that I needed. It was clean and very thoughtfully decorated, with gorgeous mountain views. I couldn't recommend this hotel enough!

We had the pleasure of staying at Tabist Kazeyuki in Hirayu Onsen, and it was a truly memorable experience. The room was spacious, with a cozy Japanese tatami style that added an authentic touch to my stay. It was incredibly comfortable and peaceful, offering the perfect retreat after a day of exploring the area. One of the highlights was the private onsen, both indoor and outdoor, a wonderful way to relax and soak in the natural hot spring water in the comfort of your own room. The ambiance was serene, and the warm, rejuvenating baths made it feel like a personal spa experience. The staff were welcoming and helpful, and the atmosphere of the hotel was very traditional in the heart of Hirayu Onsen, is ideal for those seeking tranquility and a taste of Japanese hospitality. We highly recommend Tabist Kazeyuki for anyone looking for a cozy and rejuvenating stay with an authentic private onsen experience.

This hotel was beyond my expectation. Great value for money as you get unlimited free private onzen (if the room is vacant you can use the onzen). The room, location, staff, views and everything was perfect. The staffs were very nice. The receptionist introduced me to restaurants around the area (since not a lot of them open at late hours she recommended Rokuju which I find very delicious) and provided me a detailed map of places to eat and also gave a tour of the 4 private onzens and other accommodation. Also, the shampoo, body soap and hand soap of this hotel is soo good better than 5 star hotels.

The pillow was a bit small. It felt like it was cushioned with small semi-hard balls (maybe its a traditional ryokan pillow?) but still surprisingly comfortable.

Our room was very large, with lots of space, the floor was lined with tatami mats and futon beds. The toilet and bathroom were separated so that was very convenient. They have 3 private onsen, both indoors and outdoors. When you use it , you lock the door so no one else can use it. The town is very small so it was very easy to walk around. The bus terminus is only less than a 10 minute walk away. Two of the staff speak excellent Mandarin. One of them recommended a day trip to Mt Norikura, which was an excellent suggestion, and we had a great day out.

The indoor onsen appeared rather old and grimy. Many of the eateries close by 6 to 7 pm. There were apparently only two supermarkets in the whole town.

Excellent and relaxing hotel, with spacious traditional Japanese rooms featuring tatami floors, dinner and coffee table. Great views of the snowy mountains. Both outdoor and indoor private onsen available. Excellent location, just 200m from Hirayu bus stop to Kamikochi. Free parking. Breakfast and dinner options available at the hotel right opposite, although there are also a couple of decent restaurants around.

Some free coffee at the room would be nice, instead of just tea. There was only an espresso machine at the lobby, and at extra charge. There is no real convenience store in the village, just two souvenir shops closing early, so best manage your supplies before arriving.

The shared onsen bathroom that you can use as private onsen. My wife and I are too shy to go to a public onsen. Here, we can reserve the bathroom for about half an hour for ourselves and experience a true onsen bath in private and we felt great after a good soak. The place also has a lift so we do not have to carry our luggage up any stairs. The home owners speak chinese while the staff speak english.

We fed back to the owner that our attempts at contacting them failed as they were too busy running the place that they did not notice our messages. They promised to reply (even with very short messages in future)

- Great onsen facilities, and we were positively surprised to find private onsen places in the hotel instead of shared ones - Onsen use regardless gender and without reservation - Short walk from the bus station - Great and spacious room which made us feel both at home and within the Japanese experience sleeping on the floor and with Japanese lounge clothing - Super friendly staff, coffee, drinks and food can be purchased there - Toilet and shower in the room was separated - When checking-in we asked the staff if we could use the onsen with tattoos, which they allowed us - Friendly staff, always willing to help out - Leave luggage to go to kamikochi - We enjoyed the tranquil music in the common areas - Usually we don’t spend that amount of money for a night but it was totally worth it

we purchased two times coffee but it was only available during the reception time, we would have wished to not depend on the opening hours
