This was a stopping point for us on a road trip, selected primarily for its proximity to the border that we needed to cross the next day. It was a great hotel and served our purposes perfectly. The staff were very nice and accommodating. Everything worked well in the room, which was spacious and comfortable. We were able to park within view of the room, in a location that felt secure. We had to leave early in the am so didn't get a chance to partake of the breakfast. There was a nice restaurant within easy walking distance. Wi-fi in the room was free and worked well. All-in-all, a good place to stay.

Great breakfast, had the Jr. Suite right on the water. Very relaxing and peaceful. Nice pool area and lots of aguanas. A couple mini marts close by. Staff there was excellent, always helping when needed.

Serving lunch and or dinner would be a big plus, but we were there in May. More low season and not a lot of people. Other places to eat pretty far to walk to but cabs plenty around.

The staff and the restaurant bar area were most attentive, unusual for Costa Rica. It is on a nice quiet bay, but with a little driving you could go to Playa Pavones, or Zancudo/I preferred Zancudo as it a a constant cooling breeze-less popular? Great food from the kitchen.

It is a quiet town, and the hostel has to do what it can to make money. This meant on a Saturday there was a Transformers performance(?)=loud kid music/but they were happy. Saturday night they had a band that could have been a couple of decibels quieter. But the locals loved them and it seemed like traditional dance music. Great if you love dancing/I don't have that skill. On the weekdays, nice and pleasantly quiet. Consider this in your planning a stay?

If there's a reason to stay in Golfito then this is a good place to stay. For swimming in the sea then I would choose Puerto Jiménez. We enjoyed the pool every evening and had adjacent rooms with our friends. Our friend's room had an extra room where we could all sit together. Breakfast was included making it good value.

Not many places to eat close by. Not ideal for swimming in the sea.

Beautiful location, and immaculate but simple room. Immaculate pools, very nice gardens and play area for kids, great wifi, very friendly staff, and extremely good and generous breakfast, all in the room rate. Our waterfront suite was literally that, with a private balcony, and 180 degree views of Golfito Bay. It was well worth the extra 8 or 9 dollars!!! We also requested and got an early checkin. One of the best hotel stays we have had.

The room aircon was not working properly, but when we checked out, we reported it and the lady was profusely apologetic and undertook to get it fixed.

This hotel was perfect for the price and location and both the owner and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I read the reviews and knew that while it was not a brand new hotel In tiptop shape it was certainly regarded as clean and friendly which goes along way for me. The location is convenient to use buses or taxis and the staff is always happy to call one for you or you can walk right outside the driveway and get one within a couple minutes. Coffee and breakfast in the morning was a very nice bonus and was included price. I also very much enjoyed A few of the other dishes from the restaurant including the Caribbean chicken, the tenderloin, chicken Caesar salad and chicken soup. I stayed for a week while my husband was working on a yacht in the nearby marina. For a people with high expectations who are looking lux accommodations for a cheap price this will not be your place. For those who appreciate the value of a fair price, clean rooms, an air conditioner that works, a pool to dip in, food to eat, eat, a bar to have a drink and extremely friendly owners and a delightful staff then this Is your place.

Very large bedrooms and bathrooms. Comfortable overall with good air conditioning, a nice swimming pool, and great covered patios right next to the bay. The staff are very pleasant and accommodating. The restaurant is very pleasant, with very good service and the food is good.

The big room we stayed in just had beds and nightstands. Even though there was plenty of space, there was no desk or table with chairs so it was a little empty and no place to sit except on the bed.

We had a room with a porch on the bay, awesome view! The pool was well maintained and a delight. The full breakfast made the stay perfect! Breakfast staff was very attentive, polite and she has a great memory for who orders what. A great customer service touch.

The breakfast and our server Jocelyn were the perfect start to our day. The air conditioner was amazing and the beds were comfortable. Great view of the water. Convenient to stores and restaurants. Pool was great!

The rooms were big, the view from the hotel was amazing, saw huge Iguanas in the garden and black vultures basking with their wings open in the sun in the morning. Breakfast was quite minimal but tasty.

The bathroom in the room I had was crammed up a bit, the bathroom windows had glass missing and had to be covered with a towel, the toilet was crammed near the shower and you hilariously need to perform some acrobatics to even sit on the toilet. One of the servers at breakfast was kind of rude. I did not have breakfast on one of the days and used 2 of my coupons the next day as I hadn't had dinner and she first forgot to get the second plate and then gave me some weird looks, shaking her head while going back and so on. I do not know if it was because of the language barrier but I did not get a very welcoming feeling. Some of the other staff were good.
