The hotel is very well located for access to the jetty to get to Corcovado and also for the town. The hotel/rooms are colourful, fun and just make you smile. The staff are great and the vibe is happy, relaxed and informal. We were upgraded to a room with a waterfront view from the porch and it was beautiful. Would definitely recommend.

It’s a cute and clean hotel with good AC and internet. They have kayaks and bicycles that you can use for free anytime you want. It has a small pool and a relaxing atmosphere. The rooms have coffee makers with complimentary coffee and a mini fridge. It’s located right on the water with common areas overlooking the sea. Also, the rooms we got had a very nice outdoor area with cute wooden furniture, which allowed us to have a nice private space outdoors. We didn’t utilize their tour services, but they offer a lot of good adventures too.

We booked this hotel partly because of it’s proximity to the local pier and the ability to easily walk to the launch and to activities from the pier and beachside restaurants; however, the connecting bridge is damaged and unusable, so we had to either pay for taxis or walk long distances to be able to get to these areas. No basic toiletries provided, like shampoo, conditioner, body wash, etc. We didn’t pack these items because we thought they would have them. None of these things are deal breakers, but they would have made our stay a bit easier and more enjoyable.

1- Very friendly and selfless reception/management staff - John and Gabi. Helped us make the most of our short stay with advice about places to visit, help with booking cost-effective tours&transport, and ensuring we got a room we were happy with. 2- Great to have free access to the (warm) pool, kayaks and bicycles. 3- Quick access to the beach and town (seconds away). 4- The town is friendly and has many services and good restaurants.

1- The bed slats could be a little quieter - I’m sure it’s an easy fix. 2- We couldn’t figure out how to make the shower water warmer. It wasn’t cold, just not very warm. Perhaps our fault!

The room was comfortable, with an outside seating area. We used the kayaks to explore the mangroves and the bikes to get around town and beyond, all free of charge. The hotel is right on the beach and has a pool. The staff were friendly and helpful. Puerto Jiminez is a small town, not busy with international tourists. It had everything we needed; shops, supermarkets, restaurants. We started our tour to Corcovado from there.

Breakfast is not included but there are plenty of options in Puerto Jiminez to buy your own and a fridge in the room to keep it in.

I wish we could have stayed longer (only 1 night, unfortunately) The place was so cute and felt like a wonderful spot to tune out and go at your own pace for a week, especially with the kitchenette & fanned balconies for lounging and eating. Fans & A/C in the room were great. The welcome book with the room is super helpful; you can tell they want to be sure you have a great stay. The bathroom was clean and the showers were a perfect "Costa Rican" warm thanks to the in-line electrical heating element. The staff was very accommodating and held our luggage while we visited Corcovado. Loved the free kayak rentals.

Self contained rooms with kitchens or they have cheaper rooms without as well. There is everything you need. Despite being around the pool there is privacy for each room so you don’t feel overlooked. The views are amazing there are scarlet macaws flying overhead every day and the free use of bikes to get round town and kayaks to explore the ocean and mangroves is a real bonus! The staff there are really great and give lots of advice on things to do and are ready to help out. It’s relaxed here and a great base for exploring. They are very used to travellers going off to Corcovado so have a slick arrangement for storing luggage.

Nothing really….when it rains it really rains so the outdoor kitchens get very wet ( this is the same for all properties of course!) it’s fun and the rain (in dry season) doesn’t last long but something to bear in mind

These cabins are located right on the shore of a beautiful bay- swim directly from your cabin during high tide. They offer free bike and kayak rentals; explore the mangroves!!! We LOVED their boat tour around the bay, it was a highlight!!!. We saw dolphins and swam in crystal-clear water. We were also lucky to have a great captain who shared fascinating stories with us. The property has a small open-air kitchen and a pool. This time, our room was in an unfortunate location with no view. The rooms in this hotel vary greatly—some have amazing verandas, but they come at a significantly higher price.

We loved this place the moment we saw it — funky tropical character, art everywhere, lots of amenities, super friendly staff & a great location right on the waterfront! Pretty much the antithesis of a sterile modern hotel. Lots of common areas to enjoy — pool, deck, gardens — plus free bikes & kayaks to use. Short walk to town & restaurants & very convenient to the pier where boats to Corcovado depart. Location was quiet & felt safe. Annie was very helpful, gave us maps to everything & stored my husband’s 12’ longboard for him in their bodega. We would love to come back & stay here again!

We booked the most basic room, & while it was clean & well-equipped with amenities like coffeemaker, dishes, & mini fridge, it was extremely small for 2 people in their 70’s. My husband called it a “dorm room”. Double bed pushed against the wall, so a tight squeeze for 2 people to get in & out of it, & barely any room to walk around it. No chairs. We looked longingly at the rooms that faced the pool or waterfront, some of which have patios with seating. If you’re a solo traveler on a tight budget, by all means take the basic room & you’ll be fine. But we regret not asking for an upgrade as the price difference is only $30-40 per night & we would have been much more comfortable.

I wish we had more time here! Both ladies were possibly the nicest people we met in Costa Rica—so warm and lovable! When we arrived around 5 PM, we took the kayaks out, which was the perfect welcome to Puerto Jiménez, especially with the stunning views all around. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with cozy beds that made for a great night's sleep. This stop was just an overnight stay before heading to Corcovado, and we were incredibly grateful that they allowed us to store our cars and lug gage on-site. They also provided helpful information about meeting our tour in the morning, and when we returned, they even offered us showers, which was such a thoughtful touch after a long day of exploring.

While the air conditioning was a bit noisy, I usually sleep with headphones, so it wasn’t an issue.

The hotel itself is in a good location right on the water. It's quiet, has a great view of the bay, and the rooms are nice and clean. Anne at the front desk was extremely helpful in suggesting things to do, restaurants, etc. She was also able to arrange a taxi to pick us up to take us to the pier to catch our boat to Corcovado the following morning at 5am, because unfortunately the bridge to walk to the pier is no longer there. We were able to keep our car in the parking lot, and store our bags while we went to Corcovado for two days, which was fantastic.
