Absolutely gorgeous hotel , the bed was so comfortable and the roof top pool was amazing . We tried everything on the menu over our 5 days and it was delicious. Staff on reception were very helpful printing out our visa for Cambodia and always happy to help . Roof top bar staff were very good too . It is beautifully designed . Taxi from the airport is just 7.5 dollars from the airport. Tip if you come out of the hotel turn left there is a street currently all dig up but there is a decent coffee shop , night market and bar at the crossroads turn left .

My whole experience of this hotel from the arranging of airport transfers prior to my stay and also arranging my train tickets to Luang Prabang was excellent. Within an hour of my flight landing in Vientiane I was sitting by the rooftop pool drinking a beer - what more could you ask for. I would definitely recommend this hotel and come back too stay again.

This is our third visit to the Laos Poet Hotel and it will not be our last. The rooms are serene and spacious with enormous bathrooms . The food is very good and reasonably priced. The staff are outstanding-nothing is too much trouble and they are particularly adept at securing train tickets at busy times of the year. I think this is a wonderful boutique hotel and highly recommend it .

The rooftop pool was lovely and the unique, almost quirky rooms and lobby were cool and interesting. The location was excellent, close to markets and eating venues.

Excellent location close to all the sights and lots of bars and restaurants. Very nice room. Helpful staff, sorted our taxi to the station and a trip out to the Buddha Park. Breakfast was very nice. It was cooked to order but came out quickly. Rooftop pool and bar also nice, though the only person who could make cocktails left before we could order one on our first night! The food we ordered was very nice though.

Bathroom had a large glass window to the bedroom so had to pull down a rattan blind for privacy. We were two good friends sharing and it was ok but some might not like it. No umbrellas at the pool and it was very hot so not possible for us to sit out.

Great location, nice room amenities + ambience, comfortably firm bed, reception staff very pleasant + helpful, nice bar area near pool + reasonable prices, breakfast possibilities were simple but good, nice baguettes + good coffee, no street noise, very good housekeeping. The first morning (Sunday) was buffet breakfast, but on subsequent mornings, it was á la carte.

Breakfast courses were served at the same time, it would have been better for the second course to be served 5-10 minutes after the first course had been served, stairs at entrance started immediately you entered the front door. Ok once you’re aware of it but slightly unusual, nonetheless.

This property was in a great location, close to the night food market. The staff were friendly and accomodating helping with the arrangement of transportation, providing great directions for sight seeing and snacks and even assisted with money changing. The pool was lovely after a long day walking and the rooftop provides lovely sunset views. The accomodation rooms are very generous in size and velvet interiors are super kitsch. Fresh water was provided and most appreciated.

The bathroom wouldn’t allow for much privacy if you are not travelling as a couple consider booking two rooms.

This hotel is excellent value for money and I highly recommend staying here. The staff are all very friendly and helped with any queries that I had. My room was spotless and very comfortable with fantastic airconditioning. The pool was lovely with view of the river, and a nice poolside bar and restaurant. The breakfast selection was also really good and the food was made to order so it was fresh and hot.

This is such a small grumble but the room didn't really have anywhere to put clothes, so I ended up living out of my suitcase. Some drawers would have been really good. (There was plenty room to put them somewhere.)

Lovely hotel full of character, the staff were amazing, helpful and most were fluent in English, breakfast was exceptional with a varied choice and as much as you could eat. we also had a number of evening meals at the roof top bar and restaurant which were also incredible with staff again helpful and accommodating of our dietary requests. the addition of a rooftop pool was a welcome facility for those hot days and the hotel even provided bicycles for guests although I suspect this is not a regular request by the condition of the cycles we used.

the pool could have had a ladder to access although there is a seat level under the water but this may prove daunting to some people.

The pool was enjoyable but quite cold yet refreshing. The location could not be better for me. Easy access to all parts of the city that I enjoy. Breakfast is served to you which is so much nicer than a buffet in my view.

There were some maintenance issues and as I stayed at the hotel last year I moved rooms twice. Having said that as a repeat customer they did upgrade me and the room I ended up with was wonderful. So a bit of inconvenience but it all worked out in the end.
