It was really nice staying in a 19th century building, it was really charming. The outside road noise from the motorway was very quiet once we closed the windows and the room was not overly warm. The room had everything we needed including a hairdryer, kettle and tea and coffee. The bed was nice and cosy. The staff were very kind and friendly. They promptly helped out when we discovered our shower was having troubles with hot water. And we somehow managed to lose the key and they very kindly helped out regardless of the late hour. We were very appreciative. We can imagine outside would be quite loud with the motorway nearby but it didn't bother us. The hotel could use some TLC but it's a lovely old building.

The proximity to where my family live that we were visiting. Room was clean. No one on reception but turned up quickly when called on the phone. Body wash and hand soap provided but no shampoo.

Bathroom fan didn’t work. Not enough tea bags, coffee, sugar or milk. Only enough for one coffee or tea each. Breakfast isn’t available and was supplied with nearby cafe location but it was only open mon-fri so as staying as the weekend nowhere to get breakfast! Room was too hot but couldn’t open the window because Road noise was soooo loud. Asked for fan and was given a very small one but screw missing so fan only faced the ground! Had to wedge something under it to make it point to me. Asked to move to another room but was told that no other twin room was available

It was perfect for me visiting family 5 mins away. I know the area well & its ideal for restaurants, bus routes, shops. Wakefield city centre 10mins drive away & Leeds city centre 20 mins drive. Bed comfortable, good shower, it was quiet & comfortable & met my needs. Owner very friendly & accommodating.

I stayed in August & the weather was hot, no A/C but a stand fan was in the room to use. It was adequate, though the room was warm. The pillows not the best.

The warmth from the host was exceptional. explained everything thoroughly and nothing was an issue and was more than happy to answer and deal with any queries we had. room was absolutely lovely and worth the money couldn't find any faults as it was clean and comfy

The main road at first when we had parked up and said to my partner if we can hear that in room then we are going to struggle to sleep. low and behold our room was opposite the road and to our surprise didn't hear a thing which was a massive plus

The bed was super comfy, the hotel were really accommodating and very responsive with any questions we had prior to arrival. The room was really big, and the shower really warm and lovely.

The toilet was quite low powered so we had to use another rooms toilet as well to accommodate for 3 of us using it - it worked fine but couldnt be used frequently. Will probably be fine for a solo or couple travelling. As I said though the hotel were really helpful with the matter.

The young lady who greeted us on Saturday afternoon was extremely helpful, vivacious and knowledgeable about the local area. The rooms were spotless, as was the rest of the hotel. It's a small shame that no breakfast was available, however the delightful young member of staff informed us of a cafe within 5 minutes walk. Very nice it was too.

Merely that there is no breakfast on site but this was stated on the website and the cafe around the corner was perfectly up to the job.

There was an old fire place in the room and you could smell burnt ashes. Probably not used forever but the smell from chimney persist. I would still book again if nearby.

Value for money short stay as needed to be in the area. Bar and restaurant facilities nearby very good Welcome by host very warm, though not full time on site easily available

Right next to the motorway. Very noisy with windows open, but was fine when they were closed. Unfortunately we were there when it was a hot night. Otherwise it would have been fine. Perhaps provide a fan on hot nights so windows do t need to be open?

My room was large, with plenty of space. It was clean and welcoming on arrival. The shower was excellent always with hot water available. I asked for a room away from the motorway (M62) to keep noise to a minimum - when the windows were closed I could not hear the motorway at all. Unfortunately, it was a hot week with the weather so I had to have the windows open, so the sound of the motorway was distracting. There was free parking and free wifi both were very good. My highlight was the staff, who were all present, kind, and full of smiles.

Be aware at the moment the hotel is being redecorated, so whilst the rooms are fresh and clean, there is a strong smell of paint. Unfortunately, there was no food available at the hotel, and the local restaurants do not offer the best selection of food. It is a good 15 - 20 min drive to get some clean, healthy good food. Whilst my bed was large, the mattress was very poor quality, also it was two singles pushed together - not ideal.
