We had a wonderful two night stay at Bidara cottages. Located in a very quiet peaceful part of Lombok and away from the crowds. The owners/hosts are some of the best most friendliest people we have had the pleasure of meeting, absolutely nothing is too much trouble. The rooms were clean comfortable and reasonably well equipped. The pool is exceptional especially given the price for the room and now has very comfortable sun loungers. The restaurant served delicious food at local prices. We stayed here to travel from the port to Sumbawa but we would also recommend the snorkelling which we did last year and this can be organised by Bidara Cottages directly.

Nothing perfect stay and would definitely return

The people were so friendly. It’s owned by Indonesian. They took good care of us. Not many tourists around the area, but a couple of tourists at the property of course. Nice pool. A big mosquito net around the bed (the best we had in Indonesia so far, no mosquitoes inside). The food was delicious - so many things to choose from. We were so happy there. They organise a boat tour to the secret Gilis if you like, it’s all day with snorkeling and our guide (Budi) had lots to explain and even managed to show us Sea turtles. It was so nice.

Wonderful staff! They are our highest bid for the overall experience at Bidara Cottages apart from the big black ape that came and roamed in front of our cottage one morning. The staff are very attentive, warm, friendly and super accommodating to our needs. They would go beyond their way to make us feel like home with fresh home cooked meals to our requirements and they helped organizing the boat day trip to Gili Petagan, The Mangrove, Gili Kapal, Gili Bidara and Gili Kondo. The captain and his helper were superb, friendly and helpful, they respected the guests. The food we ordered was amazing, scrumptious deliumcious, every single one of them. We were so grateful for our experience at Bidara Cottages and we will come back.

Unfortunately the mosquitoes were insane, persistent and unavoidable, even when we had to use the electric mosquito repellent, which we don't like, they kept getting into the mosquito net. We never felt so loved by something like this before

The room is nice and big with comfy beds, and everything you need. The pool is amazing with a nice temperature and very clean. They organised for me an amazing private trip to all the islands for actually quite a good price and with very good conditions. And I must say it has been my favourite snorkel experience so far in Indonesia. Crazy beautiful sea life and colours, and the kid that came with me to snorkel was picking up as much trash as he could fit on his body from the ocean, which I thought was amazing. Also, I must say, as a solo female traveler, finding a place mainly run by amazing, strong woman is a treasure. Getting to share food and life stories with them, at least for a little bit has been warming for my heart. Thank you girls, you are the best!!

Bidara cottages were gorgeous individual cottages sprinkled through a lovely garden with a gorgeous private swimming pool. The food was excelllent. The cottages were easy walking distance to the beach, although the beach was disappointing as it was dreadfully disrespected with a lot of rubbish. Bidara cottages organised a snorkelling boat trip for me which was truly one of the best highlights of my trip. The coral and fish were extraordinarily beautiful.

Price for value, cleanliness of the room, mosquito net on the bed and mosquito cream on request (there are some), bathroom size, ideal location if you want to do the Kondo islands tour (ask the hotel to organize it, good price), possibility to also book transfers or various excursions, there is a pool that we didn't use but it was clean and there are new deck chairs that you can use, breakfast included, possibility of lunch and dinner, air conditioning in the room

Lovely calm and quiet place to relax, with a lot of privacy. The entire compound is very tidy. Bed, towels and room are fresh and clean. Room is spacious. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The service is excellent. Scooters are for rent and the cottage organises tours to the gilis (kondo, bidara,…) which was the highlight of our stay! The underwater world is amazing (fish and corals are alive!), the boatman is very friendly and accommodating.

The cottage is right next to the beach but the beach is very polluted, with trash and garbage everywhere. Arriving and departing may be a little inconvenient if you have no own means of transportation. But private drivers can easily be arranged if needed, so that shouldn’t be too much of an issue if you’re not on a very tight budget.

We loved our stay at Bidara Cottage! The location is perfect—just a short walk to the beach, which made island hopping to the nearby Gilis incredibly convenient. The wooden bungalow was charming and comfortable, especially with the lovely terrace where we could relax. We also really appreciated the shower with its abundance of natural light—it added a refreshing and natural touch to the experience.

We’re just missing the bidet for the toilet

We loved our 1 night stopover at Bidara Cottages. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. Bathrooms are adequate with very nice hotwater showers. There is a patio infront with a table and chairs. Its ideally located just off the main road ( nice and quiet) and just metres from a beautiful black sound beach where local life can be observed with small warungs and fisherman. Putri organised a fabulous afternoon on a boat to visit the hidden Gili’s Beautiful snorkeling and white sand beaches, crystal aqau blue waters to swim in. It really is a rustic but very real little paradise out there. We spent a wonderful 4 hours exploring with our boatman Nyoman. Afterwards we enjoyed the most Enak dinner prepared by Nor at Bidara. Cottages. This lady really knows food! Prawns with delicious home made kecap manis, Chicken Curry, sweet and sour Chicken and Veges in coconut mil and spices. They handled my allergies perfectly and delivered a meal fit for kings. All for a very affordable price. When we asked if could make a virgin pina colada they asked what that was and immediately sped of to the shop to buy coconut cream! Made it beautifully and without sugar as requested! This place reminded me of the Bali of old! Loved our stay and big hugs and thanks to two amazing ladies Putri and Nor Plenty of off street parking.

Bed was new but very firm

Lovely ground and great pool. Really friendly and helpful staff. Delicious freshly cooked food. Perfect for organising trips to the nearby Gilis. Reports of mosquitos in other reviews a bit overdone in our view; there are some, of course, but not a real issue.

Nearby beach is a local hotspot for holidays so trash is a bit of an issue.
