Great hospitality by Nathaniel. Whenever we had a question he was there for us. And he made delicious breakfast. Room was equipped with basic furniture and very clean, quite spacious and silent at night. Beds soft and a lot of pillows to choose from. We had 2 beds available in the room. That was great to recover from the long flight.

Bathroom door was blocking the way to the lavatory and toilet. Mattresses were soft but saggy.

Sunrise A-1 exceeded my expectations! We were able to check in late as our flight was late with no issues. Natanael, the host was very welcoming, offered us a yummy breakfast and homemade coffee and spent some time talking to us and giving us advice. We felt right at home. We had another stay booked in Alajuela for our last night but quickly changed it to come and stay with Natanael again. We will be returning here in the future as well :)

I stayed here the night before my flight. It was a great value and nice. The owner was really friendly and helpful. He made me a great breakfast and there was a lot of fresh fruit. It's only 15 minutes from the International Airport. The room was nice, and it had a private bathroom. I felt very comfortable there and safe.

My wife and daughter spent 2 days at Sunrise by A-1 BNB, after returning from Nicaragua they were met by Mr. Nathaniel upon arrival. Mr. Nathaniel was gracious and very accommodating and stay up late since my family arrived very late that evening due to a delay in the transportation from the Nicaraguan border. Nevertheless, Mr. Nathaniel assured me via emails that he would stay up and wait for my family to arrive not only was he accommodating he went out of his way to make sure my family was safe and also provided transportation the next day to a nearby mall area so that my family didn’t have to find their own transportation. The room was spotless clean and their BNB was very safe and in a great location surrounded by restaurants, Zoo and shopping mall. Mr. Nathaniel is trustworthy and was always making sure that my family was safe and explaining and providing specific directions to where to shop, eat and where kids can have fun. Breakfast was great and would have breakfast based on the timeframe you chose to have it. I highly recommend Sunrise by A-1 BNB for your stay you won’t find a friendlier, caring, respectful, trustworthy and very responsive host like Mr. Nathaniel. This BNB is located in an ideal safe location in the Alajuela area near the San Jose airport.

- the owner is very nice and gave some great recommendations and tips - the B&B offers a rental car service - decent selection for breakfast given the price - great value for the money - safe neighborhood; walking distance to a supermarket and ATM

- it was not impecably clean (though not bad by any means) and there were some small insects, but this is normal for CR

Good and quiet accommodation close to the airport. The owner was very nice and assisted with luggage. He gave us a map of the area and explained very well where to find everything. Good, basic breakfast included (bread variety, cake, cereal, juice, coffee, fruits).

The owner is the only one with access to open/close the doors to go in and out. It would've been nice to have a key to come/go. He was always there though.

Clean, safe, quiet..close to all sorts of food etc. They are very accommodating!! This is a pro operation ran by experienced caring people. There's a quality in every detail. We literally just had to ask, and travel stress vanished. Outstanding business practices I might add. NO shady plays about exchange rates or English comprehension etc.you know. Straight up great job A1. I WILL BE RETURNING

Unable to complain. I will however remind you that this is a house, granted a large,well updated and spacious house...don't think motel or hotel mental images are a fair analogy.

We really like this cozy, clean and peaceful hotel. It felt like we were at home. Comfortable bed, good place to store clothes. Large balcony with flowers. Green garden is the best place for yoga). The owner is very kind and helpful. You can also fill your bottle with drinking water from the cooler. Eco friendly place)

Everything was great

I liked everything about the place. It's well located and has whatever you need near to it. Great restaurants around Sunrise by A-1. Definitely, I'll recommend this place to anyone visiting Costa Rica. From Sunrise by A-1 you can go to anywhere you want to go. Cheers,

This is an excellent place to stay before or after an early or late flight. Just 10 minutes from the airport. The house is very well finished and the room was exceptionally clean.

The address wasn't clear (for me at least) but if you type Sunrise-A1 in Waze, you will find it immediately.
