The staff was very helpful. The Inn is in beautiful, historic building, not far from the ocean and located near other notable historic buidings The breakfast was exceptional and everything was fresh and delicious. The pool looked inviting, but it was too chilly to swim.. Grounds are meticulously kept.
The room was small and a ittle stuffy. I would have appreciated a desk or some flat surface to write on. The stairs are steep and the driveway up to the Inn is also steep. The staff did offer to carry our bags. We didn't need the extra help but appreciated the offer anyone with mobility issues would be challenged.

A wonderful find in the beautiful Marblehead. We were warmly greeted and provided with loads of useful information on where to eat and drink in Marblehead during our stay. An very friendly place . Breakfast was included - not a cooked breakfast if that's your thing, though what was on offer was a good variety of items both healthy and filling. All the staff were super friendly. There was also a bar, though we did not have a chance to go there - it seemed very lively when we walked past - so somewhere to explore on our return. Location was great for a lthe main things to see and go in Marblehead. They also have their own parking area off the street. Th ebuilding itself is from the 1700s and seemed like a tardis inside of cosy rooms, nooks and crannies to sit and read in.
Not a negative for us, however, be aware some rooms are upstaires with no lift (its a wonderful old building), so if this is important to you be sure to request a ground floor room.

the room was so cute and cozy. it was clean and large. The tub was amazing! The breakfast was really good, and more than I expected. I really enjoyed the fruit and overnight oats
The bathroom door didn't close all the way, probably due to the age of the inn. I also didn't know until the day I left that we had access to ice, water, and a microwave in the little kitchen area when another guest told me. That info would have been nice to know. I was also charged an additional $140 when I arrived for some tax. This was a booking.com issue, but it's good to be aware of. Finally, this room was nice and the staff were great, but it is so cheesy to ask guests in a place like that to tip staff. $1400 for 3 nights?? Pay the employees appropriately. They work hard and deserve compensation from their employers

Marblehead is a lovely town with historical homes dating back to the 1600's. We enjoyed leisurely walks and Harbour Light Inn was conveniently located to the fort, a park, and good restaurants. The area is very safe and close to Salem, Ipswich, and Topsfield. After 3 visits to Salem, I must say Marblehead is so much nicer, with ocean views from the fort. It has quality stores and doesn't contain the typical tourist trap cheap store merchandise you find in Salem. We enjoyed the nature trails at the Audobon Ipswich River Refuge in Topsfield, where the birds are friendly and will eat right out of your hand! We stayed in Room 22 which was beautiful with a canopy bed, a working fireplace to take the bite off of the cooler fall temperatures, and a large bathroom with both a jacuzzi and shower. The B&B has nice sitting rooms and a lovely garden with a swimming pool, which we didn't swim in because of the cool temperatures. They provided a hearty breakfast, which was more than expected. The Sea Salt restaurant, a short stroll from the Inn, has nicely presented meals that are nutritious and not the typical greasy tourist trap meals. I wish we had found this restaurant sooner. The staff at Harbour Light were very friendly and offered maps and good suggestions.
It was perfect.

Beautiful old inn right in the heart of Marblehead. It has plenty of communal space for the lovely breakfast and sitting by one of the many fireplaces. The staff was exceptional and very responsive to any request, including charging our electric rental car. Our room. #5, was ground floor and spacious. There were two wingback chairs for sitting by the fire or watching TV. The bathroom had a large jacuzzi tub/shower. We didn’t use the bath but the shower had incredible water pressure and immediate/plentiful hot water. The canopy bed was comfortable. The included breakfasts were very good and they accommodated special requests.
Really nothing we disliked. As a constructive suggestion, perhaps check the large thermos carafes of hot water and coffee available in the breakfast area. We ate breakfast in the later time slot several times and found that the coffee was not hot anymore. When asked, they immediately made fresh coffee.

As a historic building in such a historic area, the Inn fit perfectly with the vibe of visiting the area.
That booking.com hasn't yet updated the taxes in their system for this location so the cost was $40.83 more than what booking.com priced this booking at. When I reached out to booking.com customer service, they treated the issue as if I was I had issues with Harbor Light Inn and not with booking.com, making me wonder if anyone at booking.com actually read what I wrote about the issue.

Beautiful old building and rooms. The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower excellent. It was cozy but well appointed. Breakfast buffet also good. The weather for our stay was grey and rainy until the morning we departed and then I saw the real Marblehead I’d read about!
The only thing I could mention is that the breakfast staff were very noisy one morning very close to the breakfast room.

The property is beautiful and well maintained. The rooms give you a historic harbor feel. The beds were very comfortable and there were so many nice touches everywhere. Breakfast was great and the yard by the pool is very tranquil. We loved it here so much! We loved staying here while we visited Salem because we were out of the hustle and bustle.
Honestly I can’t think of anything.

This is a property, with it’s quirky layout and loving attention to detail, that lets you feel as though you are in the 1700’s.
It was a pity, especially considering the Inn’s strict none-of-your-own-alcohol-in-the-rooms policy, that on returning on a Friday night at 10 p.m. the bar was closed.

The staff goes above and beyond to make your stay memorable. Despite being upset over the fire place situation our first time around, I couldn't complain -- as the rooms were beautiful, the breakfast was incredible, and we've stayed twice so far, so I'd imagine we'll be back sometimes soon.
On New Years Eve my fiancé and I stayed in one of the rooms with a fireplace. We were informed we couldn't use the fire place in our room as it was too warm outside to do so -- which was disappointing because I did pay for the fire place room specifically so I could propose to my fiancé by the fire place. Despite that small disappointment it ended up being an incredible night. So much so we returned over the weekend (this time in room 7) which overlooked the backyard. Such a lovely stay.
