We went to Helsingor for my son's wedding. The Hamlet helped us accommodate my 91 yr old mother. They went out of their way to meet her needs. They also helped me host a small reception for our family following the ceremony. Their communication w/ me prior to our arrival was exceptional. They took great care to ensure all of our requests were met. I can't thank them enough for helping us pull off such a beautiful weekend in a foreign country!
The only tricky part was the shower in the studio apartment. The water kind of gets everywhere. lol Not sure there is a solution. You just need to take care when showering in that unit.

A Truly Atmospheric Gem in the Heart of Helsingør! Hotel Hamlet is an absolute treasure for anyone looking to experience the charm and soul of historic Helsingør. The location is unbeatable – right in the center of town, just a short walk from the iconic Kronborg Castle and the harbor. The hotel itself is incredibly cozy and full of character. It beautifully blends historic charm with modern comfort. Every detail – from the furnishings to the lighting – creates a warm, stylish, and authentically Danish hygge atmosphere. The staff are exceptionally friendly and attentive, making you feel genuinely welcome from the moment you arrive. Breakfast is delicious, made with quality ingredients and served in a lovely setting. This isn’t just a place to sleep – it’s a part of the experience of visiting Helsingør. Highly recommended for anyone who values atmosphere, history, and heartfelt hospitality!

Perfect location just 1 minute walk from the train station and 2 minutes from the city hall where we got married. Charming old building renovated in a stylish way to keep its originality.
The bathroom was not draining properly and there was no way to clean up the water after we showered. No shower mat, and no mop, and the whole bathroom is one floor together so the shower floods the whole area. Breakfast was overpriced and very basic, next time we prefer going to the supermarket. We didnt like that the bed was 2 single beds pushed together and 2 separate duvets - we even wrote in the booking that we are staying there to get married the next day, and wasnt expecting a not prpper double bed with a double duvet.

I want to say a massive thank you to hotel Hamlet and all it's incredible staff! We got married in Helsingør and were struggling to find a place that could host 13 people the first weekend of November (turns out November 1st is a big celebration and party in Denmark). The first thing we noted is that the images you find online don't do the place justice. Reception area is so lovely and welcoming, the attached restaurant where breakfast is served is cozy and inviting (we went back in the evening for drinks, great atmosphere and fantastic staff). Yes the rooms are a bit small, but totally fine; beds are comfy, water pressure fantastic, hairdryer available, closet for hanging your clothes - we did not feel like we were lacking anything and really enjoyed retreating to our room. Friday night, November 1st, was indeed very noisy - but I think it would be very fair to argue that anywhere you stay in town in a room facing the road you will get noise. If you struggle with noise, just ask for a room facing the small garden - some of our group had those rooms and were very unbothered by the noise. Saturday and Sunday we didn't hear a thing and slept great :) My brother has a 3 month old baby who joined as well - again staff was lovely. Super plus that they have an elevator, which made things easy for them. Some family stayed in their apartment, which really was great. More spacious, with fridge, small kitchen & sitting area. If you want more space I would highly recommend seeing if the apartment is available. My whole wedding party was really positive about the hotel, it exceeded everyones expectations (partially because some of the reviews are very negative). THANK YOU HOTEL HAMLET!! I know we will be back to celebrate our 5 anniversary with you :)

The staff were very friendly and helpful. They assisted us with the Neighbour hood information and other room queries especially the elegant lady at the counter. The hotel is an old hotel but has been well restored and maintained. There is a lift for the upper floor that was amazing specially if you have luggage. The rooms are nice and cozy. The location was amazing very close to the train station and main market and shops and nice restaurants around. Definitely will come back again!
The corridor had trolley in the way, but that is not of a concern. Nothing in specific. The water kettle was old and needs cleaning the water scales.

Very good location for the attractions of Helsingor such as Kronborg castle, the churches & a great town walk. It is also very convenient for the train station for trips to Louisiana Art Museum, Fredericksborg Palace, and Fredensborg palace, which is open for tours in July. The gardens are open other in months. Excellent reception and friendly welcome. There is a lift and in your room, a kettle with tea and coffee sachets. You have the environmentally friendly option of opting out of daily housekeeping. Restaurant on premises for meals as required and close to other places.
All good

Great location right across the Helsingør train station. The hotel is very traditional (probably 100 years old) with traditional cupboard for luggage storage and hanging clothes. Coffee and tea bags are provided in the room. Sizable bathroom. Good breakfast. Many restaurants minutes away. Extremely friendly and helpful staffs. Besides the popular Kronborg/Hamlet castle, they helped me planned the transportation to other point of interests of mine (such as Gillelije and Rudolph Tegner Museum). They also suggested several point of interests in town. A side story. I lost one of my iPhone somewhere between Copenhagen and Helsingør. Receptionist Maja (I hope I spelled it right) miraculously helped me track down the lady who found my phone. I was able to retrieve it on my way back to Copenhagen.
Not really a negative point for me but some people might find the hotel amenities slightly dated. To me, that’s what makes it a more charming memory.

I really liked the interior of the hotel. Pastel colors. Natural materials. Clean, snow-white and soft bedding. Delicious and hearty breakfast. There is a choice. There were problems with the coffee machine. We were told that we could only buy coffee, but there was a sufficient selection of tea. And i liked so much soft lighting. It's my love.
since the hotel is located near the train station, and our windows overlooked the port, you could hear the noise on the street and the noise outside the door.

I want to thank the staff for an excellent hotel stay. I had a single room overlooking the inner courtyard exactly as I requested. The room was very quiet and peaceful. Good bathroom and shower. I requested fresh milk for making tea and coffee with the hot drinks kettle and supplies in the room (I dont like the little long-life milk in the little sachets). The breakfast was really first class. The hotel was not modern but I enjoyed & appreciated the atmosphere & charm of this hotel. The evening meals served in the hotel dining room were provided by another company (separate from the hotel business) and I had the best seafood dishes I can remember for a long time.
It would have been better to have a bedside table with a reading light. There was not space for this as there was a wardrobe on one side of the bed and the bed was against the wall on the other side. I like to read in bed before putting the light out, so I had to get up to turn the room light out. I did request a single room and that is exactly what I got (also better value than a double room) but if I had paid more for a double room I'm sure there would have been a bedside table and reading light.

Extremely quaint little boutique hotel, very well kept and managed.Every room seems to be different.Furniture and interiors are carefully chosen with excellent taste. The whole atmosphere is very relaxing and cosy. The location helps indulging in little wanderings around the harbour of Helsingør, recently renovated and turned into a sort of open air museum. The pleasant weather, fresh and breezy made those buffet breakfasts al fresco truly memorable. All in all I would return in the fall but the manager told me that the season will end in September. Next time I will happen to be in the area I surely won't miss to check the availability. The receptionist was extremely professional and welcoming.I will be happy to resume historical chats with him next time I visit!.
Well, the bathroom tiles did not prevent flooding after shower and the bathroom itself was a little bit spartan compared to the general flair of the hotel. The price was not exactly a bargain, but being high season in Denmark I guess it was cheap for Danish standards.Apart from that, maybe the buffet breakfast display, which was good and tasty for the record, could have been a little wider. All in all I have no complaints, these are just suggestions for my next visit.
