We found the bed clean and comfortable. The charming breakfast area is on the first floor of the restored old mill itself (interesting history). The owner and staff were courteous and very helpful. The other guests were agreeable. Its situation behind an Indian restaurant proved not to be a problem. Our three nights stay was peaceful despite needing the windows open because of the hot weather.
The owner explained Yaxham Mill is a 'work in progress', and there are areas that would benefit from improvement. The complementary refreshments did not include decaffeinated options, and it was difficult to fill the kettle. The flat surfaces in our room were sticky. The garden areas need attention to create a better impression and provide a useful pleasant outdoor area.

Breakfast was served on the first floor of the windmill which was beautifully furnished. The selection of breakfast is excellent for a small bed and breakfast. The room was nicely furnished and had the added bonus of a walk in wardrobe!! Paul is a very good host and was very helpful with our request for a room with a large enough shower for my husband, Our room was on the ground floor with patio doors and a small outside seating area which was lovely to sit outside in the evening with either a cup of tea or a bottle of wine.....
The bathroom window in room 8 does need a locking system as it is on the ground floor and we did need the window open a few times during the night as the room gets a bit warm. Otherwise the room was perfect

The mill is situated off a country road in a quiet area surrounded by fields and farmland. A very quiet space. The room was lovely. A comfortable bed, great pillows, tea/coffee facilities, a fan for when you're hot and a plug in radiator for when you're cold. The room had a plumbed radiator as well. The bathroom was en suite with a large sink, good size mirror and a plumbed shower, water was piping hot! Breakfast was taken inside the mill itself. Paul, our host, was friendly and polite with a good sense of humour. He cooks the breakfast in the ground floor kitchen and brings it up to the 2nd floor dining area. Two choices of breakfast, continental with 2 warm croissants and a selection of preserves. A range of cereal and yoghurt and bread for toast. Or a cooked English, 2 bacon rashers, sausage ,egg, cooked tomato, large flat mushroom and beans served in a ramekin. Tea/coffee by the pot with decaff options. Simple fayre cooked well. Plenty of parking space and wifi included in your stay. Don't expect the Ritz! Its a great place to stay with everything you need. Its quant and quirky. Paul is very accommodating. 200ft away is the Rani Indian restaurant who also do excellent food and have a beer garden for those who would like a drink without necessarily ordering food. We cant wait to go back again.
That we couldn't stay longer!

Wonderful breakfast and served in the Mill itself, full of history and some great artwork. Paul the owner was very friendly, helpful and very accommodating, and cooked a great breakfast! This was our second visit 🙂 to the Mill. I liked the was plenty of tea and coffee supplies to be had in the room should we have needed a refill! The bed linen and towels were fresh and clean and the toiletries in the bathroom was a nice touch.
The decor is a little dated but everything was practical and worked. Personally, i found the duvet a little too warm... But that excellentcould be just down to an age thing!

The communication between us and the owner was spot on, they texted us to say if they weren't at the reception that our key would be in the door of our room and where to park and directions to our room. They also asked us to read the breakfast menu and let them know what we would like and roughly what time we would be down for breakfast. We messaged back what we would like for breakfast, I asked for poached egg and they asked if scrambled egg would be ok and the scrambled egg was lovely and fluffy. My husband lived his full English. The man who served us was lovely. We are in the windmill on the second floor.

Large car park. Quiet Location. The breakfasts were very good, the room number six although small was clean and well presented.
The reception door to the mill is not manned - there is a notice requiring you to telephone your arrival. The handrail fixing at the top of the stairs leading to the first floor dining room in the mill was broken off, although substantial and relatively strong held by fixings below. There was only one chair in the room number six, for two people. There were no clothes hooks in the shower room for a dressing gown or clothing, there was nowhere in the shower cubicle for shampoo, shower gel or sponge, and no place to hang large wet bath towels.

We booked Yaxham mill for the weekend as it was less than a 10 minute drive to the polar express We liked the look of the property over other properties and decided to book this property as it had really good reviews! It was a perfect location, with countryside views. The property was clean, well presented and generously stocked with tea and coffee. We met Paul when we arrived at the mill for our breakfast. He was really friendly with a great sense of humour! He offered us tea and coffee, and told us we could help ourselves to orange juice/ apple juice and cereals and yoghurts. I thought this was very generous, considering we opted for the cooked breakfast. We had a delicious full English in the mill. The breakfast was cooked to perfection and could not fault it. It was a really nice atmosphere in the mill. We highly recommend this property and will be returning here next time we visit Norfolk.

We've stayed here three times now. Paul is a wonderful host, a lovely genuine guy with a good sense of humour and a quick wit. For where you are and the stunning views, it is exceptional value for money. Even more so when you consider the full range of breakfast provided in the price of your stay. Nothing comes close to what Paul provides as a B&B. Communication is excellent to from the time of booking to arrival. Yaxham Mill has it all; a beautiful location, very peaceful, off road parking, comfortable beds, pleasant rooms, lovely and varied breakfast range, and a thoroughly nice host.
There is nothing!

The breakfast was yummy and beautifully cooked, paul made sure to cook it just how you want it. The location is very remote but beautiful. If you dont drive make sure you take some snacks with you for the evening. There is a nice Indian restaurant next door too. Everyone was very friendly and was extremely value for money! Loved it! Will be back.
Can't really fault anything other than it's quite a bit to get to if you dont drive but as long as you check times, you're all good.

We absolutely loved having the opportunity to stay in an old mill. Parking was easy (which is important for us) and although the owner wasn't on site to meet us we managed to check in without any problems. Our bedroom was lovely, full marks to the owner for using pictures of the area on the walls, we really appreciate those design decisions. The bathroom was lovely and big, the shower was good and there was plenty of hot water. It was a really hot day so we appreciated having a fan in the room, that certainly got used. The choice at breakfast was good, I was able to go off menu and have a vegetarian option. The ingredients were high quality and everything was nicely presented. We'd definitely stay again if we're travelling that way. Thank you for a lovely stay.
I would have appreciated a hook in the shower room - I ended up putting my dressing gown on the floor, Just a stupid thing but having praised the decor choices in the bedroom I was really disappointed with the first floor of the old mill which acts as the breakfast room. The plastic flooring and jarringly modern fireplace were just wrong in there. It was such a shame because I was excited when I learnt breakfast was served in the old mill.
