What a lovely surprise this was. For £60 I wasn't expecting such a beautiful room. The cleanliness fell a little short and it was cold but once the card was in the electric slot the radiator could come on which heated up the room quickly. The cleaner was lovely as was the front staff at the Spar which is where you have to check in. It might be helpful tp put that in the booking.com write up about the hotel. As there is no-one to greet you, and a frayed A4 pice of paper with instructions to go to the Spar to check in, my partner is severely dyslexic so it would of been impossible for her to read that tatty instruction piece of paper.

The first thing my partner and I noticed was the room smelt amazing, really fresh and welcoming. The staff at the kiosk were lovely and despite us checking in at 11:30pm had a smile and a chat. Bathroom in the room was fantastic, really spacious, had shampoo conditioner body wash and moisturiser, shower had good pressure and good range of temperature. The bed was clean and comfortable (I did think the pillows were a bit high but i do sleep on very flat ones usually, partner liked them). Tv had a good range of chanel’s. The best part for me and my partner was the usb option on the plugs, rarely we stay in hotels with them but this was a life saver. Check out was easy and when leaving you merge straight into the mortoway so no hassle with country roads. 10/10 we will keep this in mind if we ever stay in the area again.

No coffee in room again. Just tea bags. Not sure if this is how it is?. Room was freezing until heating kicked in. £10 charge for key card. Is refundable. Not sure if this is displayed on Web site. Very easy to forget yer deposit when leaving and hand yer key in.

“tired” room, marked walls, wires hanging out of the wall, stained carpet looked like somebody had bled-out on to it. £10 cash deposit for a key card, was a new thing (have stayed 3-4 times previously not had this), which meant had to walk back to the services building in freezing conditions with their bit of plastic to get my tenner back. Why? Why nit leave the thing in the room as I leave, as in other motels???

Nice rooms. Shower is great. Amenities in the services are good for food and supplies. Staff are friendly and helpful

Not a dislikes as such....main entrance and part of hallway were ripped up. Replacing the carpets maybe? Someone smoking in the room set the fire alarm off. Some rooms could do with a lick of paint just to freshen them up. None of the above would stop me staying again tho.

Rooms spacious and clean quite comfortable.

The courtesy tray for tea and coffee very sparse ie 3 tea bags and 3 sachets of milk. The floor on ground level was under repair and replacement covering. The booking in was in the spar shop next door.I get the impression it is not a very important part of their business which is a shame as the location is good and the rooms are fine it needs managing properly.

Cleanliness, general comfort and very good value for money. It had been recently refurbished and had a good shower.

It wasn’t made clear on the website that the accommodation was on the services and looked to be in a more rural location and more easily accessible area on the map, which was not accurate. As the location was on the motorway it involved a 12 mile round trip to travel to the next exit and return on the southbound carriageway.

Rooms were big, perfect for our 1 year old to run round and play, bathrooms were a lot nicer than expected for the price

Hairdryer only switched on for around 2-3 minutes before cutting out and having to wait around 20 mins for it to come back on, bathroom mirror was coming off the wall (assuming from previous stay)

Clean, quiet & tidy

The carpet in the lobby & hallways has been removed leaving bare wood & clumps of old carpet- no signs to explain why? Also we had to pay deposit of £20 per room card & were told Spar shop would be open 24hrs. When we left at 4am today there were no staff & Spar shop was locked, had to return at 5pm to return cards & collect deposit
