By far the best outfit to kiteboard with in Bahia Salinas, or Costa Rica for that matter. Their spot on the beach is the most upwind, works at all tides, and is always open 9.30 - 4.00, whereas downwind beach outfitters are swamped at spring tides, and are only open when they have lessons booked. Experienced instructors (currently in 2025) fluent in English, Spanish, Italian, French, German, Russian & likely others. Gear rentals includes a full quiver of this year's Core XR. Bring smaller kites, nothing bigger than 12m. I wore a 3/2 shorty, but some were in shorts / rash-guards. Don't worry about travelling here alone - if you kite, or are trying to learn, you'll soon be one of the family. A rental car is not at all necessary for kiting, as transport to the beach is provided, but is nice for trips to other (wind free) beaches for sunsets. Very dog friendly. Morning yoga.

Great place to stay and socialize with windsports peeps

Nikola and his staff were most welcoming when I arrived at Blue Dream, and throughout my stay. Everyone was very friendly, warm and helpful. As a beginner kiteboarder, the instructors were very professional and knowledgeable. It was a fabulous experience.

I rented one of the suites, which was very affordable. However, without air conditioning, I found the heat almost unbearable (I am from Canada, so not used to that kind of heat in March). Definitely not a mark against Blue Dream resort though, just have to rent a room with air next time.

The friendliest and nicest host of all the hosts that we have met on the way. Beautiful view of the coast, hot water in the shower, cute dogs.

The room was super warm, even with the ventilation it was almost impossible to cool it down. The walls are paper thin, you can hear the late night cars coming and going into the hostel or people talking as is they were standing next to your bed.

It has a really nice vibe at this place. The food they serve is nice and the staff is nice as well. Mind you they are volunteers so that adds to the vibe but also results in figuring out stuff with them in stead of them knowing how things work. The room was basic but the ocean view was spectacular and it's on walking distance from the beach. For this area it is also a very affordable option.

The rooms look like they need some love. The place is also very hard to reach without a car. Busses run not so often to other places and the taxi I arranged through the staff charged me a ridiculous amount of money for a short ride.

The place was very nice, with beautiful views and surprisingly, not hot at all. Fans work pretty well.

It is on a very steep slope, so you might think twice before forgetting something up in your room. The other thing was that my room had the reflective screen facing me, so I could see myself inside the room, but so could everyone else.

only stayed one night but could have easily stayed a few months or more !! .... cannot say enough AMAZZZING things about this beautiful spot !!..... the view woke up to was far beyond STUNNING !!..... even with a standard room ... left me breathless with tears of pure joy ... what a BLESSING !!

if you have a lot or heavy baggage, ask your cab to drop you at the level up the hill that leads to your room..... otherwise quite a steep hill to climb with heavy bags upon arrival, especially after a long trip...... but if you arrive in the dark, you are GUARANTEED eternal GRATITUDE for EVERY step when you see the VIEW in the morning !!

The location, the comfortable beds, the friendly staff and the nearby beach.

I know we booked last minute, but a last room check for cleanness would be appreciated (there was a lot of gekko poop on the bed). The light outside was very bright at night.

Great place to stay, very friendly people and because it’s not so big, you get to know most of the other guests really quick. The kite spot is amazing, lots of wind. Also the option to rent your gear with an assistant is perfect for beginners who just finished their lessons and want to start going on their own.

The owner was very helpful. It's off-season, so their restaurant isn't open, so he drove me down to a small chicken place down the road. He didn't have to do that.

The only thing that could be better was my timing. The place was great! I don't know what I could knock him on. If you have a had time walking up hills, it may be a problem. But, hey, your in the mountains.
