Amazing wooden building, jacuzzi, great common area and nice restaurant inside. Wonderful atmosphere when it is quiet and rainy! Has a big kitchen, library, common area where they light a fire at night. Dorm room was a good size, bathroom was nice and hot water.

The hostel is at the very farthest end of Monteverde (right beside the bioreserve). The shuttle to town is very unreliable (the one I wanted to take just didn't show up), and otherwise it is about 45 minutes walk. I didn't mind this, but people should be aware. The building is made of wood, the walls are paper thin and sound travels. If you are in a room at the front you will get a lot of traffic noise in the morning as the tours start in the reserve. I noticed this while staying at two Selina's in CR, (and a local confirmed this), but they seem to be focussing their efforts on attracting on a younger, party crowd. I feel it would be would be the perfect budget accomodation in Monteverde if it wasn't for that.

Very clean, safe and comfortable private room where you have a lot of space to storage your belongings, you have a desk to work remotely if you need it, and has a private bathroom with hot water, full WiFi access and room service. The restaurant food is excellent, you have a wide variety of options. The staff is super friendly and willing to help with anything you need. Also they have a lot of information of tours and activities you can do during your stay. The Hotel is in front of the Center where you buy the tickets and is 10min walk from Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Preserve and 10 min driving from Santa Elena downtown. There are a lot of more wildlife refuges very close, adventure parks and fun activities such as quad biking tours.

Beautifully maintained and stunning facilities! Everyone was so friendly and helpful and the yoga studio is incredible! I had it to myself every morning with a gorgeous view of the forest and the clouds passing by

It was super quiet but it was low season so couldn’t really be helped. The location is close to the cloud forest entrance but MILES away from anything else. The walk to and from town is doable but 40-50 minutes and uphill on the way back which is worth baring in mind. This is also the same as the walk from the bus station but taxis are readily available

This Selina has a great relaxed vibe to it! The bar/restaurant area is lovely, with a pool table and games and lots of seating. The menu was good but we found drinks and food expensive for a hostel. They have areas to relax outside and some jacuzzi's. The location is brilliant for the Monteverde cloud forest. You are also about 1km from Monteverde and 4km from Santa Elena. Parking is available on site which is a plus!

We weren't told that we had to request to have our room cleaned, which meant us having to request more towels. They said there is a hanger for the door to put on but we didn't have one. There is no pool but they have jacuzzi's, which are nice but remember to book. The staff were lovely but so understaffed that food and drinks took ages to come!

The outdoor jacuzzis are great way to end a long active day. Rooms are new and clean, restaurant and the restaurant staff are lovely. It’s just next to Cloud Forest so perfect place if you want to go there early in the day without a car/shuttle.

Far away from the center so you’re dependent on the restaurant there but the food was good. Some of the receptionists (not Diego) were really unfriendly and not doing their jobs right. I was charged for a trip I haven’t attended and I was given wrong info many times that if I didnt ask few times about my shuttle I was going to miss it because they didn’t book it correctly.

The property is lovely. It’s a really nice hostel with a mix of travellers including families. So it gives it a very chilled vibe. The surroundings are lovely and the hot tub a great extra. The reception team will help you organise tours if needed.

There is a lovely restaurant on site. Which you need as it’s far out of Monteverde for dinner or breakfast if you’re not driving. Or don’t want to. The service was extremely slow although the staff were lovely in the bar/restaurant. It did cause some challenges at times.

The property was beautifully designed with a nice layout. The yoga deck is gorgeous and super peaceful. The restaurant was cozy and the food was quite good. Staff were super friendly and helpful with booking tours. It’s a bit far from Santa Elena but it was nice being remote, surrounded by trees, and waking up to bird calls everyday, and it’s a close walk to the Monteverde Cloud Forest reserve.

The beds were comfortable but super noisy and rickety. The jacuzzi could also be a bit warmer.

Location is great, you are a 15 mins walk from the entrance to the monteverde park. We didn't have a private bath but the shared bathrooms were clean and we'd totally stay here again. All the tours they offered made it very good to organize our monteverde experience.

It was pretty perfect, the food is meh. We felt a bit scammed because the lady at the reception told us that it would be a bit cheaper if we prepay the breakfast but it ended up being the same price and quality of food was very meh, but definitely convenient.

We liked the design and the option to spend time around the property (e.g. in the jacuzzi after hiking or at the bar for a drink). We also like the breakfast options and the available services (e.g. laundry).

Due to the weather conditions (rainy season + high humidity) nothing could really dry properly in the room or bathroom, which was a bit tricky with wet bathing wear and towels. We also could not leave the window in the bathroom open as there was no anti-mosquito net installed. Maybe this could be sth. that could be somewhat optimized.

Great stay on the outskirts of Monteverde. Room was a little small for a family of 4 but we didn’t spend much time in there so wasn’t a big deal. Good cooking area for guest to use. Restaurant food and staff were fantastic! Hot tubs were a nice perk after a chilly day zip lining in the rain forest.

Not walkable to any restaurants other than the restaurant on site.
