It was very easy to reach and on the main road, but we were not affected by the bustling city. Loved the shared kitchen, it was fully equipped and we had the luxury of using electric appliances which are not very common in hostels like a blender, rice cooker and fridges. Laundry is available with an additional charge. The hostel has shared restrooms that were cleaned every morning. The common area had a variety of games and a tv. The staff was helpful and checked up on us frequently, especially the manager, Hansi was very kind and helpful. I based myself here as all the southern coast beaches until matara was a quick bus ride away (30 mins to mirissa being the longest bus journey). It was affordable and had great value for the price.

The mosquitos were hard to deal with. The mosquito nets had holes in them, and they were not washed for quite some time. The hammock was dirty :( I wanted to lie on the hammock and read, but it looked very dirty with dead leaves and aged rain water.

Amazing value for money! It’s a very comfortable hostel, with a huge hang out area with a kitchen, and only a few minutes away by Tuktuk or bus from Galle Fort. The bed has little privacy and can get a bit hot at night, but the net and the fan on the bed kind of solves these issues. The showers are one of the best I had in Sri Lanka, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Even though I only stayed one night, they allowed me to keep my stuff here and use the bathroom, which was very convenient. Really recommend!

The location (bus stop just in front, easy to get anywhere for a few rupees). The spacious 8 ladies dorm with high wooden ceiling and floor, big lockers, comfortable bed with individual light, socket, fan and mosquito netting! The huge lounge and dining area, the shared kitchen. Also the staff of 3, speaking little English but always on hand to help, to clean...

The only little inconvenience, the bathrooms being downstairs...but compensated by their cleanliness!

A great hostel, large rooms, cozy, lots of greenery and communal spaces, although not many people were there during my stay. Huge kitchen and dining area, washing machine, even tea and coffee (tea was really nice). Each dorm bed had an individual fan which was enough to keep cool, and showers had hot water. Only a short (10 min) bus ride to Galle Fort and the bus stop is very close. During my day trip to Galle Fort there was a huge thunderstorm and when I returned to the hostel, I found my laundry that had been drying outside brought in from the rain by the staff, so kind! There was also a donation/trade box for clothes people no longer wanted, which I found a very cool idea as thrift stores don't seem to be popular in Sri Lanka, and there's often need to make space in your backpack.

Nothing to dislike

It was very well located, close to a big store and to surf schools. Hansi was so kind and helpful, she also took me to around for one night. The whole place is really big and comfortable, the kitchen is very well equipped and clean. If it wasn’t too hot, I’d have stayed for longer, I’ve booked for 19 nights there but the hotness was unbearable, the hostel kindly reimbursed the 17 nights, such a relief for me. I’d suggest to go there during high season because I was there in mid August and no one was there, it might feel lonely.

I stayed there for 2 nights in April 2025 and had a lovely time there. The beds are comfortable in a big dorm with individual ventilators, mosquito nets, and cupboards. In addition, there are many common facilities including a very big and fully equipped kitchen. At walking distance, there are restaurants, a beach, and a supermarket to get some groceries. Galle's station is 10 minutes away with PickMe/Uber. Highly recommend it.

We had the private room and really liked it. You have space to store your stuff safely, you have a fan and it was clean. For this price and the location being so close to dewata Beach to go surfing there it is really good. You have a cooking area, a nice chill area and also can refill cold water for free. The bathrooms were cleaned regularly and you also get free shampoo and shower gel in there. If you want to go to galle City centre or Galle fort it's like 40 minutes to walk but you can easily take the bus there. The next Bus Station was if you leave the Hostel to the left and then in front of the 'lucky seven', which is a place to eat.

The only thing is that the private room has a doorm bed.

One of the best hostels I have stayed at in this country. The beds were huuuge - double beds. You got towel, linen. It was a big hall where you could eat, play games and hang out with people. Location was perfect, walking distance to everything. Every bed had its own fan so it was nice. Everyone had a locker each, and it was drying racks in the room.

No small lights for each bed. Alot of mosquitos at the location (bed had net tho so it was okey)

The room was really big so it was not so hot like when you rent smaller rooms. There’s also an A/C and a fan. I was working remotely and it was super comfortable, as you get a table and lots of stave around. Though it’s near the main road, it is quite. Clean, friendly stuff and nice kitchen that you can use. Near the hostel you get a big supermarket and also cafes near the beach.

Nothing

This place is huge and has all appliances you need throughout the day. From cooking (well equipped kitchen with lovely flatware) to entertainment (books and a big speaker you can hook up with your phone). Beautiful garden and clean dorm and bathroom.

Every bed comes with a standard wall fan, I had to put on earplugs to ensure my sleep. Even my sleep monitor said it was too loud to keep in track of my sleep... It'll be swell to have an AC. It'll be cooler and quieter...too many mosquitos...nobody wanted to hang around the living room except my lonely music...
