Absolutely charming stay at Hotel Alquimia Cádiz! I had a wonderful experience at this cozy and character-filled hotel. The location is perfect—right in the heart of Cádiz's old town, within walking distance to everything: historic sites, local restaurants, and the beach. The room was clean, comfortable, and full of personality. I especially loved the rooftop terrace—such a peaceful spot to unwind with beautiful views over the city. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, making me feel genuinely welcome from the start. The whole place has a warm, relaxed atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. If you're looking for a unique, quiet, and authentically Andalusian place to stay, I highly recommend Hotel Alquimia Cádiz. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Everything was so nice - the staff, the checkin/out, the room, the rooftop, the care with the inner garden. The flowers looked so healthy and happy! :)

Really lovely hotel and a very attractive foyer. The front of house staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Bedroom was large and comfortable and a great place to base ourselves for exploring the city. Excellent location and very near a wonderful local square where we had a nightcap in a lovely bar each night. Hassan ruled the bar!! (See photos). .

I chose this hotel primarily because of the excellent reviews of the rooftop bar. However, it did not live up to expectations. The furnishing and false grass carpet need refurbishment which was a great shame as I had looked forward to being there..

The history and character of the hotel represented the true essence of Cadiz, stepping into it’s patio’d entrance, each floor had on show some old artifacts, books and artwork. Further up, flowers leading up to the rooftop terrace where you could take a drink and see the old town of Cadiz in all its splendour. The hotel is in a great location down a quiet street, walking distance from everything. No need for the car! Our room was an exterior triple with ample space for clothes, a small balcony and a spacious bathroom. Very comfortable indeed. The staff and owners were kind and friendly.

Nothing to dislike

Wonderfully welcoming staff, a great location, surprisingly easy parking logistics despite the distance from the hotel, knockout rooftop, nice design in the common areas. Good value for money. Great shutters to block out the light in the morning!

One of my pillows was a bit smelly, which was concerning, though the others were all fine. The design of the room itself wasn’t quite as lovely as the public areas though it was perfectly comfortable.

Great old hotel in a prime look location away from the cruise ship crowds. Definitely ask for a parking resv, (near the port at Reind Sofia) and it will save you a lot over the rates at the underground car parks. Great rooftop bar w light tapas and nice views. We loved this city and the hotel was the perfect base to explore it.

Breakfast on the rooftop would have been very nice but only open in the afternoon

This is a 16th-century Baroque building that has been turned into a boutique hotel. It has a terrace on the rooftop that opens for afternoon drinks. The hotel was easy to find, so we dropped our bags off quickly in the quiet one-way street. The lady on reception gave us easy to follow instructions and a swipe card so we could park our car just outside the walls in a car park for free. We did the reverse as we were leaving. The hotel is in easy walking distance to everything inside the walls. The rooms are renovated and spacious enough. The furniture is eclectic. It was nice to have full-length doors to open at night.

It is in an excellent location in the old city, within walking distance of the sights and restaurants. The room was clean and well decorated. The bar fridge was very useful for cooling drinks after a hot day sightseeing.

I think that the location of the good multi storey underground car park in Plaza de San Antonio would have been good to know about in advance.

Beautiful historic building with a roof top bar and garden which was amazing with great views of the city. The family room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location in the old town was perfect and we could walk everywhere including the beach. No car parking on site though the car park we booked through the hotel was less than 10 min walk away. Would highly recommend staying here.

Lovely quirky hotel that felt like being in the 'real' Spain. Very friendly and helpful staff, fabulous big room and bathroom. It was a bit cold and windy to sit on the roof terrace but that looked lovely and the drinks weren't too expensive. A very interesting exhibition about women travellers in the lobby too! Great part of town, quiet and near the sea.

Great location with really friendly reception staff who helped with parking our hire car in a car park, which was free. This is unusual in a Spanish city where parking is usually difficult to find and expensive. Cadiz was fantastic and we both really enjoyed it. The hotel had everything we needed but didn't serve breakfast which was unusual for us. However, plenty of small cafes nearby so we didn't starve! Hotel has an amazing rooftop bar and seating area. However, this was closed when we stayed in mid-October. Great views across the whole city.

A dining room serving breakfast would have been a good addition, however it didn't spoil out stay here.
