We’ve been spending our vacations in Italy for many years. Sometimes we stay in hotels, sometimes in villas. That’s how we explore Italy’s lakes — Como, Maggiore, Garda. Big cities like Milan or Rome have lost their novelty (though the same can’t be said about Turin — a truly royal city). This time, we chose the small town of Gardone Riviera as our base for exploring Lake Garda — a quiet, almost toy-like place. Incredibly beautiful and immaculately clean. And so was our hotel — Hotel du Lac. Right upon arrival, we were amazed by the warmth, hospitality, helpfulness, and kindness of everyone we interacted with — Andrea and Martina, Margherita and Giacomo at the reception, the barista, waiters, dining room staff, and housekeeping. They will do everything possible to make your stay at the hotel unforgettable. Our compact room turned out to be very cozy and spotless. In fact, the floors throughout the hotel were so clean you could eat off them. Speaking of food — we encountered a curious phenomenon for the first time: guests could come to breakfast multiple times during the opening hours. We didn’t take undue advantage of this, but occasionally, we came back for a “second breakfast” coffee. The hotel offers its guests a 10% discount on dinners, which we thoroughly enjoyed. They were just as good as the meals in the neighboring restaurants along the lakefront. We traveled a lot around the lake — to Limone, Malcesine, Riva del Garda, and Sirmione. To help us save on transportation, the hotel gave us a discount card that allowed us to purchase ferry tickets with a 10% discount. By the way, the ferry terminal is just 20 meters from the hotel. Although there’s no pool on the hotel grounds, we found one nearby, about 200 meters away. The pool and the entire surrounding area were very clean, with hundreds of loungers — perfect for sunbathing. The beach had pristine white sand.

Stayed here during a family wedding. Location it’s great the views even better. The hotel breakfast was very good with a good selection only managed to have diner here one night which was a shame as it was probably the best meal we had during our 4 night stay they were always fully booked which is a good thing. We managed to have a family room we were 2 adults 2 young children and there was plenty of space they even managed to provide a cot for us. I couldn’t believe the size of the terrace even had two sun loungers out there and beautiful views. Even had a balcony as well. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. PS. The lotion and shower gel they have is so nice my wife even bought a couple of bottles of each.

Great location, everything within a few minutes walk away. Stunning views over the lake. Shout out to all the staff from hotel reception and a big shout out to people working on the morning shift at breakfast, so friendly even remembering our kids names. The hotel restaurant is lovely probably the best meal we had during our stay but only managed to eat there one night unfortunately.

if I had to pick a negative was parking but within a 2 minute walk outside Grand Hotel there is 30 minute bay so you can unpack and within 5 minute walk there is free parking. So wasn’t a problem really.

Fabulous hotel. Wonderful friendly reception staff. Beautiful location right on the lake just a few steps from the boat ticket office (ask hotel for voucher to get 20% discount on boat trips). Lovely buffet breakfast and friendly staff. Clean and well maintained. Complementary bottles of water in the fridge which were restocked daily. Tea and coffee making facilities in room. Lovely toiletries in bathroom which are also available to purchase in Reception if you want a bottle to take home.

Gardone itself is very quiet and not a massive choice of restaurants or shops to look in compared to other towns along the lake but stunningly beautiful all the same.

Loved this hotel! The staff were extremely helpful and gave detailed directions (with maps and pictures) on where to park to unload, and further directions to the parking garage. The lobby is delightful and the room was lovely. Very romantic place to stay! The view of the lake is so beautiful. We dined at the hotel restaurant the first evening and the food and service were flawless. We so enjoyed dining with the lake view. Breakfast is awesome, with something for everyone. Delicious pastries and breads, cheeses, cold cuts, even bacon and eggs (hard boiled, scrambled, and sunny side up). Fruit, vegetables, etc. again with a view of the lake. Very good location, many restaurants lees than 5 minutes walk away. Highly recommend.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel! Everything was very clean, both in the rooms and throughout the hotel. The air conditioning was strong and worked perfectly, which was great. The location is amazing – right by the lake, offering beautiful views and a lovely path for walks. The breakfast was excellent: filling, with lots of choices. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Another great bonus is the access to a private beach just a 5-minute walk away – peaceful, with sun loungers and a chance to swim in the lake. Everything was just great!

The hotel is great, the location is perfect for a quieter, relaxed vacation with superb views and good eating. The breakfast has a good choice and being able to dine outside is a bonus. The swimming pool although located a few minutes walk away is also great with access to swim in Lake Garda. The room is well air conditioned and very tidy. The bed was firmer than I like but I still slept fine. Free parking located close to the hotel was a huge bonus and the staff had no problem pointing you in it's direction. All the staff are polite and friendly and available for any questions.

We had no dislikes for this hotel and would recommend.

Location - for our journey from other areas of Italy, train/ferry to the doorstep with luggage it's ideal! During the holiday bus and ferry are on hand for trips in any direction. Breakfast - straightforward self service, very helpful and efficient staff, ideal variety for good healthy start to the day, on a personal note I got grapefruit juice every morning as I have at home - rarely found in other hotels we stay in. Room spotlessly clean, comfortable bed and balcony/views exactly as expected. Receptionists very helpful with local knowledge and booked us a taxi to the airport with a very pleasant, efficient and helpful driver.

Would have liked a bath and a wall mounted shower not a rain shower one

Hotel Du Lac is perfectly located along the lakeside in Gardone. Our room had a cute balcony with a stunning view over the lake. The ferry port is right near the hotel making it easy to catch a ferry to other towns around the lake. The hotel’s restaurant was fantastic and breakfast was amazing. We found the staff to be so accommodating and they were always friendly and helpful with recommendations for things to do.

Everything was perfect.

Very cute hotel. The location suited us well. The area is not to busy and we could travel with the ferry to other parts of Lake Garda. The hotel offers a nice breakfast and you can sit outside and enjoy views of the lake while enjoying the good variety of breakfast. The hotel is clean and the staff is professional.

We did not enjoy the size of our room. It was very small and we had hardly space to move. The lovely balcony overlooking the lake is great though. But if you are tall, have big suitcases or stay for more than two days,I will recommend a bigger room. There is no work space or dressing table. The shower is very very small.
