María and her team are lovely people, they are warm, attentive and welcoming and made us feel at home. We didn't want to leave! The building is a jewel and the very eclectic decoration is a lot of fun. I wanted to bring home my very comfy bed! Their choice of regional cheeses is a discovery experience and a delight, so delicious! The location is perfect next to the historical center and all the landmarks. The city is a secret garden... Lively but not overrun by the bad kind of tourism, safe and very clean. We are planning to go back!

Like most places in Galicia, it is difficult for people with mobility issues, although not impossible. The hotel did not have this problem. It has an elevator and they changed my room and gave me one with a huge, flat shower that was sheer delight!

Handy to have parking in a city. The staff were lovely and very helpful. The hotel is a wonder in itself. So interesting and although very old had all modern conviences. Not a cobweb or speck of dust, very clean. Breakfast was a treat. Although only continental, there was a tremendous variety. Coffee was excellent. A must stay in Lugo. Would certainly stay again.

Only comment would be there was no shampoo or shower gel provided. A small thing but important.

This was such a wonderful unexpected find. Situated right by the old walls, our room and great views directly onto the walls and surrounding countryside The whole place has been beautifully decorated and full of antiques There is a lovely ‘ courtyard’ in front to have evening drinks. There is onsite car parking but only room for six cars.and getting in and out can be quite tricky- make sure you follow hotel instructions precisely There an on-site restaurant but we did not eat there. Easy walking into the town centre.

Nil to dislike - thought it was wonderful

A beautiful eclectic hotel, full of charm and individualism. Crammed full of delightful objects, statues, paintings and old photographs. The outside is adorned with plants and shrubs, in a lovely little passageway. The rooms are well appointed, excellent TV, fridge, good bathroom. Located by the amazing Roman wall and gate, and a short stroll from super bars, restaurants and great pavement culture. Still within a short distance are excellent shops. Once in a very long time you find a treasure like this hotel!

The hotel is beautifully decorated in a French antique style. It’s conveniently located inside the walls and very close to the cathedral and main restaurant area. The staff were friendly and kind. The room was very comfortable. The breakfast was outstanding with a huge selection (the widest selection of premium cheeses I’ve ever seen at a breakfast buffet). Highly recommended a stay here.

Beautiful authentic hotel situated right by the Roman walls of Lugo, we had a large comfortable room with wooden floors, breakfast was the best we had during our trip through the North of Spain (very good coffee, large selection of local cheeses, friendly lady who served us). Perfect location to walk to the cathedral and the main sights. We were fortunate to have a parking space on site, but these are very limited also in size. We would have given a score of 10 if the bath/shower was less slippery, and if the personnel would be trained to speak English.

Located overlooking the Roman wall. Easy access to a lovely walk on the wall and to top restaurants nearby. The quality of the bed, mattress, pillows, etc was superb. The hotel is committed to conservation but does not cut on quality. Lovely antique pieces everywhere in the hotel and even inside the room. the staircase is lovely. Quirky decoration in some of the common places- won't spoil the surprise.

We stayed in Lugo for just one night on our way to Santiago. Some of the restaurants were closed on Mondays. Although the restaurant we had hoped for was closed, we did have a terrific meal at a local restaurant, Prebe. It was wonderful. My only regret is that we only stayed the one night.

Beautiful old hotel in the centre of the historic Lugo. Wonderful setting, staff were lovely despite having v little English they managed to answer our questions and were v helpful (admittedly their English was much better than our Spanish!). Great location.

We were in the attic room which was beautifully decorated (with vintage erotica photos) but had inefficient air-con, room was v stuffy. Also there was no door for the toilet! When you opened the door to the room, you had a full view of the toilet. Although around the corner from the bed, there was a lack of privacy.

We stayed for one night in Lugo in order to walk the walls and watch one of the single most spectacular swift colonies in Europe (they nest in the walls between April and the end of July) and we weren't disappointed! The hotel is in a wonderful location just inside the city walls and we were able to park in a little car park next to the hotel. Our room was gorgeous, the bed was really big and comfy and had a view of the walls and the swifts! The hotel is historical, beautiful, and full of quirky interiors. It was really quiet at night as there's no traffic noise. We would definitely stay again.

This was a lovely quirky hotel inside the city walls. My room was very spacious, with a huge bathroom. There was a lift, the room was well air conditioned, the furniture was lovely, bed comfortable with good linen. The reception had an excellent and very helpful attendant. We also used the hotel parking area, which was expensive, but given it was within the city walls was good value. Only a short stroll the the main restaurant area and attractions within Lugo. I would absolutely stay here again.

If I am nitpicking I would say a kettle and tea making equipment would have made the room almost perfect. Maybe an arm chair too.
