We made a last-minute booking at 7 PM as we needed a place to stay overnight, avoiding the drive up to Brunner due to the approaching storm. Our campervan wasn’t fully equipped for a campsite stay, so we were grateful to find this motel. Amber, our host, was incredibly kind, welcoming, and thorough in showing us around. The facilities—including the rooms, bathroom, and kitchen—were spotless and well-maintained, making our stay comfortable. The only downside was that my sister and I woke up with a few insect bites, though our parents didn’t seem to have the same issue. Other than that, everything was wonderful, and we truly appreciated the warm hospitality. Thank you!

After 2 weeks driving around South Island and a beautiful drive through Arthur's Pass, this was the perfect place to stay before flying out to Australia. The airport was only an hour's drive away. We were so pleasantly surprised to have such spacious accommodation. One bedroom, a nice living and dining area and a roomy kitchen with all the utensils you could want! It would be a lovely place to stay in for a week or more. The bed and pillows were comfortable. We highly recommend it. We were in Unit 1, the Standard Motel Unit, which is part of a converted home.

The corner shower unit in the bathroom was small and it was easy to push the tap into the off position and even push the door open while showering. The bottom of the hand held shower rail was not secured.

It was so quiet and peaceful. There was parking outside, the staff were friendly and the bed was comfortable. There was no issue about coming back later in the night to our room. We had one of the best nights sleeps we'd had in a long time!

The room was on the smaller side, the chest of drawers, although pretty, were probably unnecessary for the room due to the limited space available. The most annoying thing was the lack of an obvious hamper to put wet towels in after a shower

Calling this a motel is misleading, this is so much nicer than any other motel I've stayed at before. The bed was comfy, but most of all the lounge and kitchen are super cozy with a nice fireplace and an excellent shower/toilet facilities. I stayed in May and had the entire building to myself. Great value for money. Highly recommend, this is a great place to stay for exploring the Castle Hill area.

This was a last minute booking due to receiving news that Arthur's Pass was closed. The lovely host returned my call despite the late hour and waited for me to arrive. Having expected a backpackers' environment in the Lodge, I was pleasantly surprised with how nice and fresh looking everything was, and the cleanliness and attention to detail made it even better. Thank you so much!

Our unit was very large and comfortable. It included a full kitchen with a larger refrigerator than we were used to, and living room in addition to the bedroom. We had everything we needed to cook dinner and loved being able to spread out. We also enjoyed the table and chairs outside. Amber greeted us upon arrival and was informative and kind.

We didn't realize that we would not have access to a restaurant so had to make do with frozen food we purchased at the local gas station.

In one building there were 4 rooms. There were two bathrooms with toilets and a thirth toilet. So you had nearly your own bathroom despite there is a sharing of bathroom and toilet with the guests of the other three rooms. Everything is clean and of high quality. The host Amber is very kind and helpfull in every way..

Nothing.

A great option for Springfield. Especially for those who like communal facilities. Large kitchen and living area. 2 sinks. Big TV with lots of options for connectivity. Kids loved the bunk beds. The owner was warm and welcoming. Hot tub option - probably more relavent in summer. The rooms were clean and had a nice touch of eclectic deco. Washer and dryer was in the same compound.

The toilets were really cold during winter. Some of those hot air fans would have helped. The rooms were pretty cold as well. The electric blankets helped.

The host Amber was so lovely and welcoming. The place was so spacious and had everything we needed and more. It was great value for money. It was the perfect location for us after spending the day driving from Franz-Joseph and exploring Arthur's pass and Mt Sunday/Edoras. We didn't have far to drive from Mt Sunday to reach this accommodation. Definitely will stay here again if we are ever in the area!!!

Nothing! All was great!

Excellent service, Amber was a lovely, welcoming host! Very clean room, excellent facilities and comfy bed, in general a very relaxing stay for me and my partner

The room was a little noisy with the train, not very sound proof as advertised but can’t fault anything else.
