Affordable. Breakfast on-site meant we didn't have to find somewhere while on a tight time frame in an unfamiliar town.

I didn't understand when booking, that the rooms were inside the lodge, and off a shared corridor. This was not ideal transporting all our bags, being so far away from our vehicle. I had selected, from the 2 available rooms online, a room with bunks. It was disappointing for the kids when we arrived, for us not to be given the room with bunks.

Staff super lovely and accommodating. Facilites like Spa and Sauna were great. We had the place to ourselves. Quiet, comfortable. Good location and generous breakfast buffet laid out even though it was just us.

We had room one. Being by the road the zebra crossing outside light up the room with a flashing light at night and we had to hang clothes over the gaps around the blinds. Suggest better curtain for this room or bringing an eye mask.

We were a group of about 20 people on motorcycles. It was a very cold day of riding so to get to the abisko and have all the heaters turned on in the rooms and a great hot shower was fantastic. There was also a large warm room with lots of couches that we could grab a takeaway and eat all together. Then breakfast in the morning before heading off was also very much appreciated. Would highly recommend for a group.

Super convenient location. The apartment was large and clean, very homely vibes. Warm and inviting with the bonus of a wood burner. Felt like perfect winter escape sitting by the fire at night after big ski days.

It’s an older property. Not a negative. Just awareness of.

Came down for the peak to pub with a group of friends. Accomadation exceeded all of our expectations. The lodge was very warm and had enough room to fit all of us. Plenty of bathroom facilities and the beds/bedrooms were comfy and clean. The lodge is located perfect for walking distance to town, bars and restaurants. We would all definitely stay again !!!

it was spacious, clean and warm, the fireplace was lovely and the beds were comfortable, we also enjoyed the Sauna.

The kitchen didn't have many facilities and some of them were quite old like the dishwasher, the warm water shower pressure was very poor and the place desperately needs a new carpet downstairs.

We had the best experience with Abisko lodge. We had an issue with booking the bus from Christchurch to Methven, so we would not be able to get to our accomodation for the night. We called up, asking if we could move it to the next night. They were super accomodating when it was our mistake in the first place, and had a room ready for us no problem when we got there! The room was nice and clean, we had plenty of towels and ammenities and it was so close to the town centre where we needed to get the bus from to get to Mt Hutt. Highly recommend if you’re looking to do a couple snow days. Book early cause they sell out!!

The walls aren’t super thick, but everyone got quiet at night so there wasn’t any issues with sleeping.

Central location, warm clean room, staff very friendly and accommodating. They even offered to find food outlets that supplied takeaway food as most of the restaurants were booked out. Spa looked enticing however health issues prevented my using

Abisko lodge had two of the friendliest girls to cater for our every need. For value for money it was an excellent stay. The beds were extremely comfortable and the huge shared lounge was great.The breakfast was a welcome surprise. Abisko is well positioned, allowing us to walk to numerous venues for dinner. Great location for visiting Mount Hutt and Rakaia Gorge.

We had a comfortable stay here. Need to do self check-in, but it was easy, just need to follow the instructions. And Methven is a very nice town, we had a very enjoyable evening stroll around there.
