Everything was fantastic. I booked while hiking up on the mountain in the rain and got in soaked, cold, tired and hungry. Since I was staying on a day the restaurant was closed, they kindly suggested I try getting a meal at the Mt Somers tavern and that was a very good alternative. The heat was turned on already for me when I got there so the room was warm. The plush carpet, clean, comfy bed with feather duvet and the giant bath, were all just amazing. There was even a snug covered garage for my car and tūis singing in the pristine garden and sunny, private patio. There are two beautiful dogs to pat wandering round the office as an added bonus. I didn't realize till later, but I think the manager (owner?) even charged me less than I read it would be at first, which was very kind. The whole experience (the stay and the lovely people at the local tavern) made me fall in love with Mt Somers and it's people and I'll be back again for sure!
I had booked the room with the spa bath on purpose, but couldn't make the bubbles work. I only found the switch for it behind the towel rail the next morning before leaving, but it wasn't a big deal. The bath was still so great!

We woke in our spacious two bedroomed, self contained chalet to birdsong amid the numerous trees. It would be a charming wedding venue. This accommodation is not brand new but is very clean and comfortable, There is a licensed restaurant on the premises which is opened (from memory) two or three nights a week and for functions. We were there on a Tuesday when it was not open, but were travelling with everything we needed so that was not a priority for us. It is has a fantastic heat pump which is toasty on a cold evening, the beds were comfy, the towels artfully folded with care, soaps and shampoo provided and a great hair dryer. Staff were lovely, great communication in advance of arrival too. Thank you
The shower is low pressure, with a very adequate hot water supply. So it is gentle rather than full force. Not a complaint, just saying.

Warm unit with loads of space. Loved the stereo with extra speakers in the bathroom, bring an CD to play and enjoy the quality spa bath. Restaurant food very good , well cooked. Good service, decor and wine . Bed very comfortable and we had a great sleep. View of Mt Somers and Mt Hutt in distance really lovey location .
Bird poop on doorstep, could use a clean and restarting wood work for a good first impression of unit. A hot chocolate or herbal tea option in unit would be nice .

Accessible to Mt Hutt ski field, but not so close to be pricey. Really warm and cosy and such a comfortable bed, perfect after a day skiing. Didn't eat there for dinner but the breakfast was nice to be able to have. They place it in your room night before (muesli, bread, spreads, peaches) so it's ready to go when you get up real early to beat the rush to the top carpark.
A bit further from the ski field than I would have preferred, but what's 15 minutes extra driving time. Water in the kitchen initially ran a bit greeny brown, but after flushing the pipes for 30 seconds it was all good. The shower is fixed to the wall so not great for the tall folk, but it was hot and that's all I needed anyway.

I absolutely loved this place, peaceful relaxing & private units. I fell in love with your dogs and it was so nice to bring our wee dog on holiday with us too. Fully eqipt kitchen was very helpful. Next time we will eat at the restaurant though, the menu looked delicious. Thanks for such a wonderful escape away

Lovely landscaped setting with useful deck. Cabin was quiet, clean & comfortable with all facilities I needed for my stay. The 2 x canine welcoming committee was appreciated & looked in from time to time! Proprietors were accommodating for providing lovely breakfast provisions for a DIY breakfast.
Nothing really.

The apartment is absolutely beautiful, offering a cozy and clean atmosphere with all the amenities one could need. The surrounding area is simply stunning, creating a picturesque backdrop. It's a peaceful and tranquil place, ideal for unwinding after a long day of travel. I truly appreciated the owners' thoughtfulness in ensuring the heating was turned on before my arrival on a chilly winter's afternoon. It made a significant difference and added to the overall comfort of my stay. I highly recommend this wonderful place without hesitation!

The ground and garden really surprised us. The groundsman was busy mowing the lawn when we arrived and he directed us the our room. The view outside our unit is sublime, well kept garden with fruit trees laden with fruits. The place looked fully booked but we didn't feel hemmed in by out neighbours. A nice walk to the pub in tiny little Mt. Somors village was very pleasant and we had a good time watching rugby game on tv with the locals. They were super - friendly. Pity England was thrashed by France.
Bath towels were very rough to the touch. Fabric softeners are badly needed for guest's comfort.

Beautiful place, very cosy with a nice yard and lots of birds. The owners have two very nice dogs that love to be pat and hangout with you. Great location if you want to go check Mt Sunday (Edoras from lord of the ring)!
The kitchen and bathroom are a little old but fully functional so not really an issue.

Absolutely excellent accommodation set up in the perfect location for a nice relaxing getaway, the bistro restaurant on site was outstanding, food was impeccable. made for a great place to unwind and relax over a long weekend. nice easy walk just across the road through the trees to the river is a hidden gold mine of a feature with a swimming hole and easy access to the river for a swim or fish, especially on a very hot day.
could not really fault the place, found that it outclassed some of the more expensive places that one could have stayed both in cost and experience wise
