The staff were super friendly and very accomodating. We had a flight delay which meant we arrived later than anticipated but the staff still accommodated us for dinner and check-in without fuss. We stayed in the basic room which was cozy, clean and large double bed was really comfortable. The basic rooms were all located on the ground floor, our room was just across the laundry and drying room which was convenient. We stayed 5 nights, and the hotel was located conveniently in Methven with beautiful views of the mountains, and a very easy drive up to Mt Hutt (snow trip for myself and hubby). There was breakfast on offer which was a plus as it meant we didn’t have to worry about getting breakfast before heading up the snow fields. All comms with the hotel were answered in a timely manner and on the day we had our flight delayed, they checked in with us to make sure we would arrive safely and to let us know they were expecting us even thought it was past their standard reception operating hours. The restaurant at Ski Time offered good dining choices and we soon learnt their food was one of the best in town (we had tried a few other places with disappointing outcomes). All in all would recommend this place and would stay here again if we came back to Methven.

It didn’t bother us too much but someone who is a light sleeper might find it a bit difficult to settle for the night or sleep in as we could hear the person/people who lived upstairs of us constantly whenever there was movement. For us, we could hear movement as early as 6:30am and we didn’t usually wake up until 7am.

Great location and view of the mountain, bus dropped us off and picked us up everyday for skiing from the front reception. Breakfast was very good and convenient before going up the mountain. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Restaurant had very good food. Walkable to town and locations within and around town. Room was very nice and cosy, everything we needed for our stay. Highly recommend methven travel to get to and from mountain and from CC as picked us up and dropped us off.

Visitors parking right against our door in our car space (we didn’t have a car). Made it a bit noisy, especially the gas replacement truck Fri morning.

I didn’t expect much from this stay, but everything exceeded expectations. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was comfortable and although on the small side, we didn’t spend much time in it, except to sleep. There is a large shared lounge area with tea, coffee and TV. Given that breakfast is also included (and was delicious), and we did a load of washing and drying AND used the drying room, I’d say this is excellent value for money. Walkable to town easily, but quiet and cosy

Loved everything about this place. We were greeted with a happy face shown to our cute room, which was very clean and cozy. After unpacking, we were relaxing in the lounge room whilst looking out at the snow on the peak of Mt. Hutt. There was a beautiful fire burning in the restaurant (just what you need on a chilly day). The restaurant food was absolutely delicious and hospitality here is perfect 👌 The next day, we had a tasty complementary breakfast. Would definitely stay again as you get more than what you pay for 😊

The team member at reception was very friendly and took us on a tour of the facilities on arrival. The bar staff were just as friendly when we entered for a drink. They even gave recommendations for places in town to eat (besides rating their own restaurant as the best of course). The standard studio room was nice and clean, bathroom was lovely with heated tiles and the bed was very comfy. Great experience and value for money. Included a breakfast the next morning.

Can't really say anything bad about the place, though if it were a teensy bit closer to town, we may have been enticed to walk places more often. But, it was still only a 10-15 minute hike to town and around the corner from Opuke Spa.

Ski Time is a beautiful chalet style hotel. There is a large open fireplace in the dining room where delicious breakfasts, apres-ski drinks, and dinners are served. The food is all fabulous. We ended up having dinner there on both nights. I also loved the thoughtfully designed breakfasts, with a variety of food to suit all tastes. The rooms are warm, cozy, and spotlessly clean. It was really convenient being able to park right outside our room, especially as we had lots of gear being on a ski road trip. The staff are super friendly and it has a relaxed feeling, perfect for unwinding.

This was my second stay at Ski Time, my first time travelling here alone. The hosts, and staff are all excellent providing first class service and spot on advice on things to do when weather prevents skiing. I would never consider staying anywhere else in the Methven district. On top of all this the restaurant provides top class meals, rooms provide spectacular views of the mountains and the lounge, restaurant and bar are cosy, friendly places to relax, eat and imbibe. For me it’s a perfect holiday destination.

Ski Time is famous amongst our family and friends - it is a truly wonderful experience, the hospitality is warm, professional and incredibly good value. The food is excellent, the ambience amazing - just like the Swiss chalet ski lodges we enjoyed when living in Switzerland. I don't think I can think of any other property in New Zealand that offers this sort of genuine welcome, in such a European way. We try to stay at Ski Time as often as we can - in summer or winter - the views and local environment are incredibly beautiful. We enjoy the welcome, the food, the elegance and most of all the lovely personalities of the staff. They make this one of our favourite hotels!

I'd not change a thing.

Their breakfast was surprisingly good. I stayed in the basic room, which was enough for my family. They accommodated an early check-in for us, which I greatly appreciated. The staff was friendly and caring. The restaurant at night is a little on the expensive side, but it's so worth it. It's easy to have dinner after an exhaustive day of snowboarding and just go to your bed and sleep.

Excellent staff, so so happy with there personality and attention to detail. One of the best services we have had. The lovely staff made it easy for my daughter who has just turned one. Dinning with ski time was easy as the lovely lady had a high chair ready with colouring pencils and drawing pad and kids meal menu ready. We were served quickly and great conversation through out the dinning. Our entries we had seared tuna which was absolutely perfect! Our main we had the steak 300g which was cooked to perfection, melted in the mouth and I choose the garlic butter with horse raddish. My partner had the salmon which was also outstanding and our daughter loved to try too. We sat right next to the open fire which is such beauty in itself, looking at the stone work and antique ski gear. As a family we had such an amazing time, we stayed one night but felt so refreshed and looked after. We have travelled alot of the world and staying at ski time was honestly one of the best because of the welcoming staff and outstanding food. Thank you so much.
