The staff were all so helpful and responsive to our needs, we even had a call from Dan a few days before, on arrival the lovely lady on reception (sorry I didn't catch her name) showed us to our room which was an upgrade. We were very grateful for the upgrade. I loved the fact you could have fresh milk in the room rather than the usual UHT provided in most hotels. The garden is beautiful and there is plenty of seating, there was always plenty of staff available to take food and drink orders, they worked so hard as it was a very busy sunny weekend. Breakfast was plentiful and there was a good choice of cooked breakfast options should you want one after cereal and other delights such as pastries, fresh fruit, compote and yogurt. We had a wonderful time and hope to stay again soon.

The only issue we had was parking, as the hotel car park is small and there were a lot of big cars that didn't seem to move for 4 days. Some guests were rather inconsiderate in the way they parked, for example parking in the entrance making it difficult to enter or exit safely. That said we do recognise there does not seem to be an easy solution to this and the hotel is in a prime location. There is a huge public carpark but again finding a space was problematic on a few occasions.

Lovely hotel, great location excellent restaurant serving great food

We visited on the hottest day of the year and stayed in a room in the old part of the hotel on a high floor. This room naturally due its age and location has no Air Con, the room was boiling, a token fan was resident in the room but I could have blown harder. We asked for an additional fan from the duty person only to be told “it’s one fan per room “! When I pay £££ I expect if I ask for an additional fan I should get one, they cost around £30 so go and buy some more ! . The duty staff the following day were much more accommodating and moved us to a room with air con, so all was well.

We liked the excellent restaurant, orangery and garden refreshment areas. The hotel is beautifully decorated, furnished and the staff were very friendly and efficient. The location on the high street is ideal. The food was of a high standard and offered a great choice of what to eat and where to eat it.

The car park is very limited and a short walk from the hotel, across a busy road. The attic rooms, whilst well furnished, are small and in the very hot weather, were uncomfortably hot. The hotel did provide a cooling fan which helped a little. The age of the hotel precluded a lift unfortunately. There were restrictive, evening time limits for sitting in the garden eating and drinking areas because of overlooking guest rooms.

Staff are amazing and a credit to the establishment. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was superb quality and our allergies were perfectly catered for. I'd like to recognise Dan and Amy on the front desk and Megan in the restaurant for their personal care and attention. Our 25th Wedding anniversary was celebrated in style. Thank you.

Car park was very difficult to find and a little tight to park in. There was also a background sound of the waterworks or adjacent laundry during the night from our attic room.

We stayed at Stanwell House Hotel to celebrate an anniversary. It’s a delightful hotel in the heart of Lymington amidst shops cafes pubs and restaurants. Our warm quiet room was very well furnished and decorated, with attention to detail. It overlooked a garden terrace, well lit and quiet in stormy December Staff were very warm friendly and welcoming. The pride with which our room was cared for by housekeepers was noticeable. All that we used was refilled each day. Delivering fresh milk to our room each morning was a lovely touch. The breakfast menu was large and varied and again staff were very attentive to guests needs. We were able to linger and avoid the storms, as there was plenty of space to accommodate all residents. The bars were busy early in the evening but once casual dinners departed the hubbub subsided. We enjoyed drinking in The Salt bar with its log burning stove, although prices were on the high side. Over our long weekend we only dined in the hotel once. The meal was excellent and the portions substantial. Good value for money given the quality on offer. We loved our brief say in Lymington and plan to return to the excellent Stanwell House Hotel in the year to come.

Everything was wonderful and the staff nd little touches were exceptional - real milk delivered to your room every morning was so nice.

I had a room on the high street side at the weekend and it was noisy through the night (above the hotel bar and backing onto a relatively busy high street where at 2am on Sunday morning it sounded like some people were having a car drag race). But it wouldn’t stop me from coming back again, but I would just ask for/ book a room on the other side of the property where my friend was staying and didn’t hear a thing.

The staff were all very friendly, professional, and helpful. We had dinner in the restaurant and everything was great. The bed and comforter and pillows are super comfortable and it was the best night's sleep we got in over a week. The shower was great, the toiletries and towels were great. It was all wonderful. The location is convenient for walking to the Quay, shops, restaurants, etc. We drove to the Isle of Wight Ferry parking lot to take the ferry over for the day which was easy and convenient. We had stayed here before and will come back again.

We were given a very warm welcome by Lucy on reception. She immediately offered an upgrade when we told her we were celebrating my 70th birthday. The whole hotel is decorated to the highest standards. Our room was fabulous luxury super king bed that was so comfortable. Great pillows linen towels etc. We had drinks on both nights in the Salt Bar and were looked after by a super attentive friendly bar tender Marino. We had breakfast and this was also top notch lots of choice and once again very attentive staff. On my birthday we ate in the Samphire restaurant it was superb. Lovely atmosphere and once again great staff. They even provided me with a surprise gift that was a nice touch. This is a fabulous hotel made all the better by superb friendly staff. I have no hesitation in recommending this place and will definitely be back.

The hotel was welcoming with a lovely atmosphere , staff were so friendly and helpful and felt like a really happy team working together ! Decor was beautiful! Bed very comfortable . We had breakfast for both day’s and dinner one evening both delicious and high quality ! Thank you to Jill & Moreno for going above and beyond We will definitely be back !

Stairs! No lift When booking if stairs a prob ask for lower floor room My husband had recently had surgery and found the stairs a little difficult

Breakfast - good selection of food, lovely dining area. Location - perfect for our stay. Friendly staff The building is lovely with wonderful seating outside Water/milk provided in reusable glass bottles. Good wi-fi

Unable to keep water\milk cold. Fan in the room is not the best way to cool the temperature, noisy and can be uncomfortable with a draft blowing across you. Bed - as the mattress didn't cover the frame we kept banging our legs on the protruding frame
