Our accommodation, the Stable Suite was very quiet and comfortable. It was a treat to have so much parking available and to be able to use the facilities within the hotel, enjoy the garden etc.

I would suggest that the twin bed room would require an upgrade for the ensuite farily soon There was no provision of soap other than liquid soap, (I don't like to wash my face with liquid soap) and the bodywash bottle was out of reach when I used the bath. I think hoteliers assume their customers always prefer to use a shower these days but I like to be able to have a bath! Fortunately, as I know this from experience, I did have my own soap with me.

The location and grounds at Passford House are lovely. The staff are friendly and many have been there a long time. We stayed in the Stable Suite and found it very comfortable and peaceful with easy access to the main building. The rooms and bathrooms are a good size. The food in the restaurant in the evenings is incredible.

The Stable Suite kitchen wasn't very well equipped. There was no freezer section to the fridge, the washing machine advertised was missing and although plenty of plates and glasses it could have had more equipment, such as a colander, oven gloves,

Breakfast was poor left in so called hot plates which in fact did not retain the heat for the ingredients. Given the cost of Fifteen pounds each we refrained from any further breakfast dinning. We were advised that should we wish to obtain a fresh and hot breakfast then attendance in the dinning room at 8am was probably best. Room allocated on the second floor was not easily accessible for my partner who has mobility issues. Requirement to either use the car or book taxis if you wished to access lymington or the surrounding areas

The staff were excellent. Friendly and very efficient. Meals, ie evening and breakfast 😋perfect. Rooms very good. Facilities, good. Wonderful location. Also, lovely to hear the sheep and resident owl 🦉. Beautiful decor and swimming pool. Much appreciated.

The whole hotel was too hot. I was able to turn off the radiator in the main room, but not the bathroom. Ditto, my sister, in the next room. I decided to keep the bathroom door closed 99% of the time, which made it worse. The corridors were all too hot too. With hindsight, I should have pointed this out to reception. Overall, an amazing hotel, which I would recommend, but tell the people to sus out the heating on their arrival. Thank you for an amazing stay.

The staff who were unfailingly friendly and efficient. Our room was very hot when we arrived and as I was walking past a lady cleaning in the corridor she asked if she could help and then rushed off and returned with an excellent fan in about 2/3 minutes, brilliant service. The food, breakfast and bar food was also really good but I felt the dinner menu was a little over priced for some items, but the chef cooked me a linguini with a sauce from scratch as I have a severe onion intolerance which was delicious, wonderful service.

The hotel and gardens look a little tired in places, but the range of facilities was great.

Staff very professional & friendly, lovely mixture of character who compliment the excellent service. Location was truly stunning. Both breakfast & evening meal excellent with a very good selection. Very good selection of complimentary tea & coffee facilities in our room & the biscuits are delicious.We arranged a massage & Heather was exceptionally good & we would highly recommend, such a lovely lady too. The gardens are beautiful & definitely worth the walk around. We also enjoyed our swim in the pool after a walk around the area. Under floor heating in the bathroom a real treat.Communal areas in the hotel very much in keeping with the period property.We would definitely stay again in the future!

Pillows a bit lumpy & mattress could do with replacing. Room would benefit from a refreshing but was comfortable.

The hotel and gardens are beautiful. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast and evening meals were all very nice. Lots of smaller rooms off the bar to relax in.

No draft ales at the bar, but bottles available. Not a major complaint, but in one of the hottest weeks of the year the towel rail was super hot heating the entire room, and because the valve cap was worn there was no way to turn it off (reported but 'maintenance' had left for the weekend).

Beautiful grounds, free parking, we didn’t use the swimming pool or tennis courts but would have if we had stayed longer. Comfortable bar, and top quality restaurant food.

My only complaint was that the security guard didn’t know that we needed access to our bicycles, he didn’t know where they were stored, and didn’t have the keys to unlock the storage. It delayed us 1.5 hours, and was stressful because we thought we wouldn’t be able to do the ride we had planned on the IOW.

Lovely staff and friendly greeting were appreciated. We were shown our room by a member of staff., not left to wander on our own. The room was large and comfortable and not only had the walk-in shower that I had requested but a bath too, which my friend was very happy to see. The leisure activities are numerous, but we were hampered by two rainy days. We used the indoor pool which was lovely. We were disappointed to see the sauna was out of order. We both enjoy a sauna. We had an evening meal in the restaurant. Again the staff were really pleasant and attentive. The sea bass was very good, and we shared a delicious apple crumble. There are a number of sitting rooms and a very cosy bar. It is possible to have coffee and cake in the sitting room. On our last morning the sun came out and we enjoyed exploring the formal garden, and the 'Monet' garden. We also enjoyed driving to Lymington and visiting the shops, the quay and a fabulous walk around the Lymington Keyhaven Nature Reserve with all its wonderful birdlife.

Our only real irritation - and it is nothing that can be easily dealt with - is that the room above ours had creaking floors and our neighbours woke us early in the morning walking around. Otherwise we would find it hard to criticise the hotel and are happy to recommend it to others.

The staff make you feel cared for and can’t do enough for you

It was not clear through Booking.com that the breakfast was not included! Have stayed at the hotel before. On neither the booking confirmation, nor the confirmation from the hotel, was it stated that the booking did not include breakfast. I would have booked through the hotel had I known - or not booked this hotel at all. I was really upset about it. I also didnt know that the breakfast wasnt included until I went to pay for the stay afterwards. I would really appreciate the breakfast being refunded.
