Loved the food! The menu doesn't overwhelm you with choice, and what is presented is fabulous. My single room was spotless. Beautifully decorated with unusual furniture choice that is modern eithout being clinical like a big group hotel chain. The shower was brilliant, too. Modern very clean and stylish. A choice of rain shower or traditional. Hot drink making facilities, hair drier, comfy bed, soft pillows, warm duvet, and extra blanket.

Dressing mirror is in the wrong place, a minor point and one I'll mention to the staff. The man in the next room blowing his nose so very loudly in the middle of the night!! Soundproofing is not good, but it means you can always get your own back on noisy neighbours 😉

From the second we arrived, the staff at this little gem, (very close to the station and town centre), did everything in their power to helps us. The room was lovely and clean well appointed, with virtually everything thought of. Warm cosy and an excellent selection of towels. The breakfast was fabulous.. so overall superb value for money, all the comforts of home, and considering it is part of a pub, was both extremely clean, and quiet. Well done guys, will return one day, and have already told anybody who will listen about you.

Although we had been told that it was a Sport’s bar, we had thought that there may have been a quiet nook for residents.We ate dinner on the second night,which was very good btw, but it may have been more enjoyable if the tv above the banquettes had had a lower volume and dimmer lights.The sports fans were catered for in the other side of the bar. In fact,we didn’t feel comfortable finishing our bottle of wine and requested to take it to our room which was a shame so early in the evening 😟

Bathroom in our room was tired. The management knew about this but it wasn't consistent with our expectations for 'boutique' accommodation or the price, which we thought was somewhat too high

A really friendly pub frequented by locals. The two young women behind the bar, Lily and Kira, were so friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable. Great pillows. Fantastic rain shower. Plentiful tea and coffee in the room along with biscuits and hot chocolate. Everything was very clean. Breakfast was delicious. The hotel is just one minute from the railway station. Would definitely stay here again if I'm in Lymington.

Really nice staff, great pub with good atmosphere and exceptional food... Sunday roast and breakfast were excellent. Room was very nice recently refurbished to a high standard. A really good stay at the bosuns chair over a long weekend with friends. Top location, great outdoor area too.

Bathroom window was drafty which made that room colder.

Location was excellent with good parking and covered area outside. Breakfast also excellent. The room was lovely, decor beautiful and in keeping with the nautical name. Although small the room had a comfortable bed and just enough cupboard shelving and hanging space. New TV.

The stairs up to the rooms were windey and although at 78 I managed OK they weren't the easiest. My single room was very small, had to be very tidy, fine for a night or two but might become annoying for any longer. I understand the double rooms are very much larger.

Great location next to the station and a 20 minute walk to the Ferry terminal where I caught the ferry. Single room was comfortable, modern and very clean. Excellent power shower. Lovely breakfast of salmon and scrambled eggs. A big portion!

Parking is tricky. If you get lucky to park in their car park, no problem. Remember it’s a pub so always busy and has room for about 10 cars. I couldn’t park there and finding a space on the narrow streets of Lymington can be a challenge as it’s so popular with visitors.

It was in a central location with good parking. The staff were very welcoming and I was shown to my room, something not many places do now. I had 2 evening meals and breakfast the 2 mornings I was there, the food was excellent. All the staff were pleasant and friendly and very professional. The bedroom was spotlessly clean, a good size and bright and airy. The bed was very comfortable. I would certainly stay here again and would highly recommend it to any one wanting to stay in the area.

Stayed one night here to visit Lymington and was very impressed by the Bosun’s Chair. Great location, just off the main street and right next to train station. Ate both lunch and breakfast here and the food was great and good value. Room was good sized with a nice, big bed and plenty of natural light. Bathroom was a bit small for someone of my size. Really friendly staff and good service. Highly recommended and would stay again.

Be warned - the car park is quite small.
