Perfect for our dog all areas accessible Lovely bright and airy restaurant area , large outdoor area lots of places to sit , lots of little touches in the room excellent choice types of coffee, tea hot chocolate . Bathroom lovely range of toiletries even shampoo for the dog ! Had dinner and breakfast. Food was nice and served hot !
Most staff were pleasant , ! The only down side for our stay was the attitude of the manager / owner ? Bearing in mind we had met him earlier he had showed us to our room , He didn’t engage with us at dinner when he took our order and served us , didn’t ask if we had a nice day / walk , or how was our room , I asked how the fish was cooked ? Perfectly reasonable question I thought , I received a cocky sarcastic reply , that made me feel stupid , not good !

Fabulous breakfast, everything was freshly cooked and the service as throughout excellent, professional and friendly. The restaurant provides great locally sourced food and although not a vast menu provided a variety to suit all tastes. The rooms although not massively big are very comfy and the bathroom bright and airy, with a walk in shower. They provided great natural products including doggie shampoo. We all slept well including our little dog, great beds. Nothing was too much the staff are very helpful with local knowledge and information. The bus stop is just across the road for a trip into Brockenhurst or on to Lyndhurst.. The Pig brewery is a five minute walk away and worth a visit.
Nothing!

5 girlfriends stayed at The Filly for a girlie birthday for dinner bed and breakfast. Charlotte looked after us from helping with the original booking right through ‘til we departed. The location of the hotel was great with walks straight out into the New Forest to explore. The location was also great for visits to other nearby towns such as Lyndhurst and Lymington. The bar area was great for evening drinks before dinner. Charlotte booked us on a round table for dinner which was great for our party. Dinner was delicious, with fab wines served to complement the food. Next day, the breakfast was equally delicious. My room was so lovely that I. Old have easily stayed on! I will definitely recommend, and will be back soon for another stay!
Nothing! Would highly recommend 😊

We had a wonderful few days in the Filly Inn with our little dog. Lovely location with beautiful walks from the door and the surrounding area. The New Forest is on your doorstep and the coast is about 20 mins away! The pub was lovely throughout and outside area great! Our room was spotlessly clean and warm and the large bed was very comfortable. We stayed on a B&B basis and also had our dinner at the pub every evening. All the food was fabulous! I could have happily made my way through the whole menu!! All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful but a special mention to Charlotte, who was totally lovely throughout our stay. Pub is very dog friendly and our dog loved it!
Staircase up to the bedrooms is pretty steep and narrow.

The staff are so helpful and friendly. Room was quiet, comfortable and warm. Lots of hot drink options with a kettle. Chilled water in the fridge daily. It was well decorated, had a good sized shower room. Big breakfast lots of choice. Near beautiful walks and footpaths. The evening food is of high standard and well presented.
The room had Vellux roof windows so no view and only the small one opened. Too many lights and gadgets. Evening menu is expensive and wine over priced then to add 12.5% made it unafordable. Could not work the tv, the shower extractor didn't work but we overcame this by opening the small window. No Wi-Fi.

The deputy landlady was brilliant nothing was too much trouble, she took time out too chat with us, tell us all the info about where the dog could go for walks, food was available to buy for him in a little doggie corner, blankets were available for outside which was where we spend a later evening to have a couple of night caps, food in restaurant had a wide choice & was very tasty finishing with a cheese board!!! Yummie , could not fault anything other than shame we couldn’t stay longer once again thanks to all the staff excellent
Nothing to say here lovely evening Mr & Mrs Quinton

Great location with plenty of parking. Forest and Bridle Path straight from the door. Lovely garden and dogs are made very welcome throughout by all. Bar, restaurant and rooms are nicely decorated and very comfortable. Our room had everything we needed ( inc fridge ) and the dog shampoo was definitely needed after a long , muddy forest walk. The bed was super comfortable with plenty of pillows. Menu for breakfast and dinner was great and food was very tasty.
If I have to make one criticism....We were there mid week so not super busy but guests spread out and whilst Service was great on one day with prompt table and bar service it was a little slow the following day and I had to search out people for the bar and food orders but we were not in any real hurry ( just hungry and thirsty after a long walk)

Very friendly staff. The room, although compact, was comfortable and well equipped. Location was perfect for exploring the New Forest area. Being an Inn, it was great having a traditional public bar downstairs with a pretty good restaurant that served a good range of foods at good prices. Breakfast was included and plentiful. Very dog friendly too. I recommend anyone visiting New Forest to stay here.
Room was on the warm side which we were unable to control, other than by opening the windows, which made traffic noise more noticeable. Being an Inn do expect a bit of noise in the corridors as late revelers retire noisily and slightly drunk to bed at midnight.

The breakfast was amazing a good choice well presented and fresh. The eggs were so nice full of flavour. Beds were very comfortable. Little extras lots of coffee and tea choice a lovely bag of goodies in the bathroom with large bottles of soap, hand lotion shampoo and conditioner plus dog shampoo. Housekeeper was very friendly and always kept us topped up with anything we wanted. Sunday roast is highly recommended….fantastic! And dogs are allowed everywhere you go even in the restaurant. We had a great stay and will be back again and again and again. Thank you to all the staff for our much needed long weekend stay.
Our room was slightly too warm but it had been the coldest couple of days of the New year. But we managed to turn heating right down. Most people would love a warm cosy room so not really The Filly’s fault.

The whole experience at the Filly was excellent. Great atmosphere and all staff were positive and welcoming. Room was good size, great walk-in shower and comfortable bed. Had good selection of teas and coffees and all the toiletries you could ever need. We stayed for three nights and had breakfast every morning. Quality food and all cooked to perfection. Felt like being on four in a bed as we had different eggs each morning! Never disappointed, poached eggs perfect and scrambled eggs were rich and creamy. Evening meals were tasty and great quality. Cherry compote with ice cream and waffles was delicious.
Hard to find anything to say but if being really picky, and this is a very personal thing, the pillows could have been a bit softer, but it did not stop me having a really good night’s sleep
