Hotel had a nice feel. Decor made it feel cosy. Our 2nd floor room was comfortable and clean. Loved the Dyson hairdryer and little touches on arrival. Bar staff were friendly and accommodating and most of breakfast staff were very good.

Service charges added to our bill after each transaction. We thought the food was over priced and not a great choice across the menu. Only ate at hotel once as didn't like the choices. One of the breakfast team was a bit gungho and made his presence felt too much. Not what guests want. Perhaps make a 'lounge' area for people just having a drink and not dining?

Breakfast's were great. Meals in the restaurant and bar were excellent. Highest quality. The chef is a star! All the waiting staff were friendly, always had a smile, helpful, respectful and very willing to interact in a friendly manner. The front of house team likewise. Nothing was too much trouble. Good management from the top down. Rooms had excellent amenities, comfortable beds. Hotel location and facilities were brilliant. The building itself was well maintained keeping the history of the building whilst providing modern comforts. Dogs are made to feel welcome with their own menus!

Just a personal preference, one or two of the staff had pierced septums, which I feel was not in keeping with the standard of the establishment.

This is a cosy, old school hotel with modern touches. Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast (cooked and continental) and coffee was very good. There were some lovely touches in the room including a radio playing soothing classical music and some lavender pillow mist. My room on the second floor faced onto the garden and it was peaceful and quiet at night.

The one big thing lacking was a lounge or seating area separate to the bar and restaurant. It happened to rain a lot during my stay and it would have been great to have access to something like this. But I realise it is a historical building so hard to accommodate this! Also worth noting that if you are travelling by public transport, it is about a 20 minute walk from the station, slightly outside the village.

We have stayed here many times and keep coming back! We like the ambience, the location and the whole experience. The staff were excellent. There was a great choice at breakfast, both hot and cold. My dinner in the evening was perfect. Our room was at the back of the hotel (as requested) so we had a really peaceful nights sleep in comfortable beds. Tea and coffee making is in the room, as is an ironing board and iron and a fan. 2 tub chairs (so uncomfortable!) and another chair by the desk. There is a lift to the upper floors. Plenty of free parking. There is no lounge. The hotel is in the heart of the Forest. Lovely walks straight out of the door and just a few minutes into Brockenhurst main street with the ponies and donkeys.

The shower was over the bath. I found it quite difficult to climb over the edge of the bath as there were no handles to help. A few grab handles by the shower would be a great addition.

We had a really great time at Forest Park. The location is good, very close to the centre of the village and not too far from the station. There is a gorgeous trail that starts just outside the property, which for us, with a toddler and no car, was ideal. The staff were lovely and made all the necessary changes to dining options to accommodate my daughter's food allergies. The breakfast was very good and varied. The property was lovely, well decorated and full of wonderful touches like a nespresso machine in the room and a Dyson hairdryer. All in all, we would return without a second thought.

Small cosmetic details could have had better attention. The mechanism on one of the shutters was broken, and although the team were aware, nothing was done to replace it, which meant the middle shutter was impossible to close. Some areas like the bathroom door could use a lick of paint as it was peeling in places, but, as I mentioned, those were mostly cosmetic. It just felt a shame considering all the lovely details put into the hotel. It was also extremely hot even with the heating off and the window open.

Excellent location, can walk across the road to the forest. A 10min walk to the quaint nearby village where you pass lots of local ponies in the field & on the road. Staff were exceptional! More than happy to help & excellent with my 2 year old. Food was 10/10 - stated here for my partners birthday & couldn’t ask for better food - very good quality & presentation I’ve stayed in 100’s of places over the years & by far the best with amenities - bedroom was equipped with a £400 Dyson hairdryer, nespresso coffee machine, games to play, quality chocolate & high standard tea, coffee & bath & shower items

Nothing bad to say

Old building with modernised and comfortable bedrooms but has maintained its traditional charm. Beautiful rear garden surrounded with trees with lots of tables and chairs and an outside bar in good weather. Excellent breakfast with buffet Continental. Tea or coffee and full English all served to your table. Lovely friendly staff. Set in the forest with free roaming ponies.

No air conditioning. Rooms supplied with a good electric fan but can get hot in a heat wave as windows have the usual opening restrictors.

The attention to every detail, the staff was absolutely amazing- all of them. Super dog friendly (my pup was loving all the attention and the little welcome pack). I usually don’t like to dine in the same place and like to try out different local places but the food was really good so I ended up having dinner and breakfast there and only went out one night. The room was very spacious, comfortable and with all the amities. It felt like everything was really thought through. I would definitely book a stay here again.

Not a dislike but the WiFi on TV wasn’t working. They were installing some new system so you couldn’t watch Netflix or cast but it’s a minor thing and not really a big deal.

The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The bed and room were spacious, comfy and super clean. Housekeeping even left us cute notes. The breakfast was 10/10 and we could go to the bar in the evening and take up what we liked to our room. They're so accommodating towards children and dogs (they have wellies at the front door for all shoe sizes as young as 2, and spare dog leads and dog towels). The garden was beautiful and the setting is so peaceful.. you can just cross the road and you're greeted by New Forest plains and wild horses, yet you're 5 minutes away from Brock highstreet. Incredible few days.

The only criticism was the shower pressure. It came and went. Luckily we liked having baths so had them instead.

We were super impressed about how dog friendly this hotel is, amazing features for those four legged guests! 10/10 for that, thank you. Staff were all wonderful too, special mention to Emma who helped us with booking in the first place and also on Front Desk at checkout. Our room was lovely; big, comfortable bed with huge bathroom. We will most definitely be back! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

The only thing I would say here is that for dinner in the restaurant, my husband had the prawn dish under “Grazing” option, if only this had a bit of garlic, it would be delicious, it was quite bland without, even with the chilli.
