Breakfast was lovely, as were the staff.

Our room was very small and very warm, which made sleeping difficult sometimes. I would use a bigger room next time. The basin in the bathroom was so tiny, even made cleaning your teeth difficult.

Lovely hotel, grounds, garden and wonderful new spa. The staff were polite and tentative, and the food was also 10/10. A lovely dog-friendly, clean hotel. The only letdown was that we were on the 3rd floor with no air conditioning in the room on a very hot weekend. The hotel did supply a very large fan in the room; however, I think an upgrade to get air conditioning units installed or small units in the room would really help. I would definitely come back for another visit. I loved the grounds, and it was so nice to spring out of bed and walk the dog in the grounds. I highly recommend the Hotel.

No air conditioning. Some visitors were very loud at dinner and by the pool, with a gang of children running up and down and also managed to get into the spa area at one point. I gather this was a one off visit but it really did spoil the one night stay as i wanted piece and quiet. It was rather intimidating as i really wanted to relax in the outside pool; however, this was not possible. The staff did apologies the next day! which was nice.

Beautiful surroundings with friendly and attentive staff. The food was good quality with a lovely selection of drinks.

The room looked like it was made up in a rush, missing a little attention to detail. The pillows were both the same, so there was no choice in preference of firm or soft. We were offered a large double or twin singles we requested a large double and got two singles pushed together. Strangely, two different teas in the room both earl grey. I'm not sure why it wouldn't have been early grey with a standard or breakfast tea. That said, it was still a lovely room, although slightly smaller than the booking.com pictures.

The property doesn't look super attractive from the outside, and there were works happening at the time which meant that not everything was working as usual (ie showers not working in the pool area, spa treatments happening in bedrooms, etc) The staff were uniformly lovely, especially the red haired receptionist (sorry, I have forgotten your name!) who was super friendly, approachable and helpful. The breakfast was average or actually a bit sub par (fruit salad was wilted and bland, poor selection for the continental breakfast, scrambled eggs were soggy and bland), and the food from the restaurant, while delicious, came in really small portions.

Beautiful location, lovely surroundings. Great for walks in the countryside. Also close enough to the Beach, only a 20 minute drive to Christchurch. Lovely Spa and outdoor pool.

We stayed in a dog friendly room, nice and clean but needs updating. Bed and furniture were outdated. Not enough space in the room to put your belongings, could do with somewhere to store cases and hooks to hang towels and coats etc would have made things easier and more comfortable. Our room had a lovely bathroom.

Shame the mgt hadn’t informed guests that swimming pool facilities were in such a state!! Shower broken in our bedroom, obviously cleaning staff hadn’t tried/tested before arrival. No Netflix etc although tv remote indicated that there was. I’d say that hotel is in need of serious upgrading( I think is in process) and many staff require training/retraining. Possibly hotel has ‘lost its way ‘ since Covid. Big shout out to you ng lady on reception who was exceptional and seemed to be forever on duty!

We enjoyed the dinner. The selection of starters and vegetable sides was a bonus. Excellent oat latte! Breakfast was as expected: all the "full English" ingredients, fruits, and pastries on the top. We ordered Afternoon tea, and the kid's version was lovely. The gluten-free version still needs some attention. Cream tea with scones was a highlight. The swimming pool and sauna were outstanding as I could pop into the sauna while watching the kids through the window. There was a lovely hot temperature in the swimming pool area.

Staff were lovely friendly helpful and efficient- great location and restaurant very good. We were celebrating our birthdays and they left a lovely happy birthday message and chocolate in our room which was a lovely touch

Jacuzzi and shower not working in spa and gym closed - they forget to service our room although not a big deal it is the luxury of your bed being made and clean towels etc that make it special so was disappointing our bedroom was comfy although bathroom bit tired - but none of this affected our stay significantly and would come back again

The first night in the Standard room was very uncomfortable due to the heat inside the room. There was no heating on and windows were open and it was 16C outside but so hot inside! Could not figure out why. Had to sleep on top of the duvet. We were moved the next day after complaining about the heat, and the staff were most apologetic and upgraded us to a Premium King for the next night overlooking the fields, which was lovely. We had dinner the first night which was first class. Comparative to the best restaurants I have been to in London, but with a reasonable amount of food!

Breakfast was just buffet style. Unfortunately, some items were a bit bland. (tasteless mushrooms/bacon)

We had a lovely stay at the Balmer Lawn for a couple of nights between Christmas and New Year. Great family atmosphere in the hotel, very comfortable rooms and a nice pool and gym. Really lovely location as well - easy to head out for walks or cycle rides in the New Forest. 15 min walk into Brockenhurst. Overall a fantastic experience and would definitely visit again in the future!

Fairly expensive but the last minute options in the area were very limited and you get what you pay for.
