The location is excellent right in the middle of the New Forest with great easy walks straight out of the front door. The room was very well appointed and extremely clean. The en-suite was equally clean and very modern. The bar is a friendly and welcoming area, although I didn't get to have an evening meal, the breakfast was delicious and sets you up for the day.

Something that will be very difficult to rectify is the lack of parking available. But having seen the lack of land around the pub to work with, they are making the best of a tight situation.

Very good breakfast and very good service. I ordered simply scrambled egg, bacon and toast and was provided just that without any problem although the menu did not offer that simple choice. The room and en-suite facilities were very comfortable. Ample parking. Good location for visiting the New Forest and other attractions in the counties. A good selection of bitter ales. Keep it up. Good info on allergies although we do not suffer. Vegans well accomodated.

It`s not so much didn`t like but we thought the menus for meals were a bit too fancy. I would love to see plainer fare such as fish, potatoes ( chips or mash) and a green veg, shepherds pie and a veg, gammon steak with egg, potatoes ( chips, mash or new) and peas, local sausages, mash and a veg. That sort of choice. We tried other establishments in Lyndhurst and found what we like although I enjoyed your beef and ale pie . This not a criticism but more an observation and understanding. The external fabric of the original pub is n need of TLC. I fully expect you have this in tow as a future project

Given there is limited choice of accommodation in the area the hotel is very attractive in keeping it's period features and we felt it provided good value for money. We ate a meal in the beer garden and we adjudged it as being very well presented of a high standard and better quality than expected Location is good with many local attractions near by and the coast a mere 20 minute drive.

The location was incredible. In the middle of the New Forest with ponies right out the front door! The food was good quality and the breakfast was really tasty.

The room was small, as was the bed and far too hot. Unable to sleep due to the heat and even with the fan on, it didn’t not touch the sides (so to speak). Air conditioning is required, or to change the doors to ‘stable type’ doors or with a window to let a breeze come through the room. May not be a problem in the winter or not on a hot day.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The spacious, immaculate room had all the essentials—water, coffee, teas, and delightful biscuits. Despite being above a pub, the room is surprisingly tranquil, adorned with meticulous attention to detail and a top-notch bed. The pub’s impressive, homemade cuisine, along with expertly cooked breakfast, added to the experience. Verity’s attentive, 5-star service ensured that every detail, including my dogs’ stay, was exceptional. The surrounding area is ideal for relaxation and long walks, making it a perfect retreat. I highly recommend it and will definitely return.

We had a friendly welcome for us and our dog and all staff were very nice. The room was very clean and comfortable although quite small floor space to squeeze our big dog into! It was an enjoyable stay and breakfast was very good. Nice choice of food in the evening. The emphasis was on being dog friendly which they definitely were.

The staircase was steep and difficult for our dog to manage.

Property was lovely, clean, nicely decorated, fantastic location if you want to step outside and have lots of walks on your doorstep.. along with horses and cows! Cozy king size room was cozy but fine for a couple of nights, would book a bigger room if staying longer. Staff were very friendly, pub had a great garden with lots of tables. Food was great but a pricey.

Perfect country Inn warm and welcoming! Situated in a lovely ‘right to roam’ part of the New Forrest with good walking on the doorstep. Had evening meal at the Inn. Food was delicious! and excellent breakfast. Friendly staff gave superb service. Thank you New Forest Inn 🙏

Lovely modern room, exceptionally clean! It’s very cosy and cute. The staff were very friendly. Dog friendly which was very important to me! They even left a treat in the room for her which was a lovely touch. There were ponies, foals, cows & calfs right outside which was lovely. Great location too.

It was a bit noisy throughout the evening because our room was above the kitchen, but this quietened down by 10:30 so not a major problem.

We loved the location and the comfortable bedroom. The staff were very pleasant . It is a very cosy inn. The breakfast is excellent and the food in general is good. Its' great that you can take your dog too.

Although our bedroom was lovely we found it very hot and we had to keep standing at the open door as we couldn't sleep . The weather was unusually warm too which didn't help ! There is no shelf in the shower to put soaps etc and the steep stairs to our room were difficult especially for someone with a disability. However this is all minor . This is a lovely place to stay.
