Cosy, clean and comfortable cottage provided with everything you could possibly need and set in a lovely location. Mark the host is extremely friendly, hospitable and helpful with suggestions of places to visit or eat at. Both the cooked and continental breakfasts are excellent.

Nothing, everything was perfect

I love everything about Tollgate Cottage. The host was very friendly and helpful.The room was very, very clean , and the beds were just perfect so comfortable. Fresh and delicious breakfast and amazing coffee . Plenty staff to play with kids in the garden so they didn't feel bored. Cottage is localised close to lovely town (5min drive). We really love our stay.

Friendly hosts that went above and beyond our expectations. Excellent and plentiful breakfast offering both cooked and continental choices. Extremely comfortable beds/accommodation which was spotlessly clean.

Nothing to dislike

This was a fabulous find. Mark our host was super, offering a friendly welcome with tea & biscuits. Access to a beautiful garden is a bonus as the rooms in the private annex are very comfortable and tastefully decorated. Two sofas & free netflix make for a proper seating area to relax in the evening after busy days sightseeing. The property is set in a rural location so you can expect some agricultural activity in the distance, and a bit of road noise BUT this is not intrusive. A special note of thanks too for the bed linen which was crisp cotton on lightweight duvets entirely appropriate to the heat we were experiencing that week. Breakfast was excellent, served in the annex, and we had the use of a microwave and fridge, with cold water on arrival. There was an excellent selection of cereals plus cooked breakfast on offer & orange juice & toast. The bathroom was spotless with plenty of large towels. Night sensor lights were positioned discretely so as to minimise disruption and provide safe access to the bathroom in the middle of the night. This is a really well thought out accommodation with a highly experienced B&B provider. Freshwater and the surrounding area is a gem. Forget Cowes! There is so much to see and experience in this quarter especially if you like beautiful scenery, great pubs, country houses of historical interest, good food and long walks.

Our host Mark was an absolute delight. He was so welcoming and so genuine - he really made our stay. The space you have to enjoy in the property in a B&B format is envious. I really can't rate out stay highly enough. Clean, comfortable, cracking breakfast and in a great location.

Mark was very welcoming, humble and polite. The rooms were very tidy, clean and bright, were much more better than in the pictures. Private access to the property, very big well maintained garden with table tennis and decent size football ground for kids. 5 star breakfast service choice of full English or Continental. Would definitely visit again.

The host Mark couldn't do enough for you and had extensive knowledge of area. The breakfasts were perfect. Place has a lovely garden and is very comfortable and suits every need with well fitted rooms and bathroom. Location is great for West of island but no hassle if you need buses to travel either.

Beautiful garden, could spend the whole day there if not bothered about exploring. Mark was lovely and friendly and chatty.

No footpaths to local towns, however such a short distance easy to drive or book a taxi

Mark and Kate the hosts, are welcoming, warm and a pleasure to meet. The breakfast is exceptional; fresh, plentiful and delicious. The cottage is immaculate; Mark's years of experience mean that everything you could possibly want is available. Location perfect. A real find!
