Loved the evening bar. Loved the pool although used it only once due to weather. Loved the breakfast and the fact that you could have cooked breakfast too, was extra special - all delicious. The coffee was generous in quantity and excellent. The service so kind and friendly. It was lovely to see the dogs around the hotel too. Even as a cat lover it was fun to have them there. The gardens were super and the view breathtaking.

Well now you mention it - a shower for the swimming pool which is usual in most places with a pool. The other thing was having a safe in the bedroom. Passports, keys etc... and cash you're not using - those are helpful to put in a safe so you don't need to have them with you; especially keys and passports.

This is possibly one of the most dog friendly hotels I've stayed at - with dogs allowed to breakfast, treated with a dog sausage, able to join you around the pool, a fenced off Agility area, a kitchen for feeding and storing dog food, a cleaning station with warm water at the front door and towels and a selection of treats and toys in the room! So thoughtful. On top of that the staff are all super friendly and attentive, couldn't do enough for us and breakfast was great.

The only criticism is that the double bed in our room had a very sinky mattress which became a bit uncomfortable after a few nights!

Its is a beautiful setting and the location couldn’t be better. It’s a short walk to get to the shops and we were given a pass for Shanklin Chine so that we could walk through to the beach. The facilities were fantastic - we particularly enjoyed the outside swimming pool and giant chess set! Breakfast was good as well, we tried many of the hot food options and all were delicious, especially the pancakes! The man on reception (sorry didn’t catch his name) was particularly helpful and friendly when we arrived as were all other staff we encountered. For us, it was the small extra thoughtful touches that made this hotel special. It was a really enjoyable stay.

The rooms could do with updating.

Very pleasant room (No. 5) with a sea view over the busy Channel (NB best experienced in the dark of night when the ships are displaying all their navigation lights!) The room included a week's pass to the "Shanklin Chine", a natural gorge which is very decorative but (even more importantly), a relatively short way down to (and up from) the esplanade, so we used it a lot. (There is also a cliff lift (£1 return) available for those not quite so happy with the five-minute climb up the steps!) ALSO included was the cost of charging our EV - not a fast charger by any means (3.5kW) but we added sufficient miles to avoid stopping off to charge again on our drive home. So these "extras" were valuable to us, and made the cost of the room feel more reasonable.

We didn't make very much use of te restaurant, so can't comment on this. We ordered a pizza each, however, the night before departure - these are cooked next door (Luccombe Hall Hotel) and need to be picked up at a pre-arranged time. Ours came out 15 minutes late, and were very disappointing - the bases were more biscuit than pizza dough, and lacked flavour too. Avoid the pizzas, frankly.

Breakfast was very good, staff friendly.

The bathroom was too small, the toilet roll fixture was too close to the loo and there were no grab rails in the shower.

The hotel is in a great location with beautiful sea views from the property. The staff are so friendly and accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. It was great to be able to use the sister hotel’s facilities too which is right next door so we had 2 outdoor pools and an indoor pool to choose from plus a host of family friendly games and equipment. The room was comfortable and clean with tea/coffee making facilities. There is a substantial breakfast menu with an offering of cooked or continental so enough to suit everybody. It’s an easy walk to the seafront although lots of steps if you go via the Chine which is well worth it if you can. All in all we had a really wonderful stay and will most definitely be returning. The lovely staff really helped to make the stay an enjoyable one.

The location was just by the sea and the view from the hotel was mesmerising. Room was exceptionally clean and was cleaned everyday. The 2 outdoor pools and the indoor pool were the highlights of our stay. Breakfast was cooked to perfection. Although it's a dog friendly hotel, there was no smell of dogs at all ! The Chine, the gift shops, the restaurants were within easy reach. I would definitely stay here again.

Considering we stayed in August and had sunny mornings, the curtains were very thin and the brightness woke us up early. Could do with thicker ones. Other than that, a perfect hotel!

It's a splendid location and the adjacent Rylstone Gardens were perfect for exercising our collie. The interior was clean & well maintained and our room was spacious with a comfortable bed and small but adequate ensuite. The food was excellent! We enjoyed cooked breakfasts in the sunny dining room with superb views out to sea. It was complemented by a varied buffet which included delicious fruit salad and various tasty croissants. We also had two lovely dinners in Luccombe Hall, the neighbouring sister hotel. The staff were amazing. We received a warm, enthusiastic welcome and everyone did their utmost to make our stay a happy memory. Our collie was treated considerately & affectionately. We admire and praise the quiet efficiency and friendliness of the whole team.

A lift would help less mobile guests.

We absolutely loved our beautiful sea view room! We were so happy to find out we had access to the indoor swimming pool and play area next door also. With 3 pools, a children’s play room, retro play room and park this hotel is excellent value for money.

It is a hefty walk to the beach, not hotels fault this is due to cliff corroding, but they have tried their best to facilitate other options including free entry into a local attraction nearby to cut through. The walk was too far for my 4 year old after a long day at beach and not suitable for people with mobility’s issues. I would suggest taking your car if you struggle.

The hotel is in an ideal location, just a short walk into Shanklin Old Village, and with the most spectacular views over the bay. We moved to the hotel for one night, following a less than great experience elsewhere, and wish we'd booked it to begin with! The accommodation is clean and comfortable, the breakfast is great, and the facilities are amazing. We loved using the indoor pool at the Luccombe Hall next door, and the outdoor pool at the Manor and had we had more time, we'd have tried the giant draughts or giant chess! It was also great to get free entry to the Chine as that was quite a saving for two people. Finally, a word about the staff: they are outstanding - kind, friendly and professional, going out of their way to make guests - human or canine! - feel welcome. Extremely delighted with our short stay - we will be back for longer next year!
