On arrival we were immediately impressed with the beautiful quiet location and stunning property. The hostess Jill made us feel very welcome as did her two little dogs Jonty and Jess. We stayed for 9 nights and truly we couldn’t fault it. The room was beautifully appointed. The property is a short walk from Shanklin Old Village. The breakfast was lovely and Jill served it outside on the patio when the weather was good. Jill was so friendly, helpful and couldn’t do enough for us to make sure our stay was pleasurable and memorable. In fact, it was so good we are going back in September! Personally, we don’t think you will find a better B&B than this!

Absolutely nothing!

Jill's beautiful and individual house is the best B&B we have ever stayed in. Jill is the most attentive, knowledgeable and kind hostess, who spoilt us with generous and tasty breakfasts. The sun came out on our second day and we were able to enjoy breakfast on the large, comfortable terrace..overlooking the huge, beautifully planted grounds. There was a small fridge in the room for our convenience and this was stocked up daily with milk and bottled water. Teabags were replaced and we found a jar with the most wonderful cookies. ..also restocked daily ! Highly recommend..you will not find better! Thank you Jill. Irena and David

Everything was perfect!

Fantastic experience overall, the room and the facilities were clean and great, ample parking and to top it off, our host Jill was very friendly and cooked us amazing breakfast every morning! Even helped us with some planning and got some recommendations as well. Good location, only 15mins or so walk to the beach, and lots of food and pub options within 10mins walk. Bathroom amenities were all provided as well. We also loved having the two dogs around. Overall, would definitely recommend!

Nothing to complain!

What a fantastic place to stay in the Isle of Wight! All the communication with Martlets was extremely quick, clear and helpful, with loads of information about ferries, attractions and eateries. Our room in Martlets was beautiful, clean and large enough for all our detritus! It also had a large ensuite with a bath and a separate shower. The breakfast was excellent – plenty of freshly cooked choices, as well as cereals, fruit and yoghurt. Martlets is a lovely house in a perfect, and quiet, location and only a 5 minute walk from pubs and restaurants. You can walk easily down to the Shanklin seafront in 10 minutes or so, and venture further to Sandown if you fancy a longer walk. The railway station is easy to get to…so you can then access the train up to Ryde – or switch to the steam railway line if the mood takes you. We didn’t use the buses on our trip, but they seem to be quite regular and they visit the main areas of the island that you would want to access. When we visit the Isle of Wight again in the future, we won’t hesitate to get back in touch with Martlets to book a room. It was an absolute delight to stay there. Thank you for looking after us so well.

Struggled to find anything that we disliked - the only thing we came up with is that the pats of fresh butter at breakfast weren't exactly the same size ;)

We had a fantastic stay with a warm welcome from Jill.and the room was very clean and comfortable with a lovely view. The breakfast was delicious and the location was also great. Just opposite is a picturesque church, duck pond and park and it is a short walk to the old part of Shanklin. We will definitely try to book here again next time we visit the Isle of Wight. Thank you Jill for such a lovely stay, it was a pleasure to meet you and the dogs.

Always very sceptical of all reviews. But without a doubt ! Jill was the most accommodating and gracious host. We have experienced. Great Value for Money. It was our first visit to the Island and if we were to return. Without hesitation ,Martlets would be where we would ,attempt to book first. And definitely would recommend Jill's home to all.

As title says Very Happy . No issues!

Jill is an outstanding host, who went out of her way to make our stay at Martlets exceptional. Nestled on the edge of Old Shanklin, Martlets is ideal for a break on the Isle of Wight. Within a 10-minute walk of a range of pubs and restaurants, the accommodation is well placed for touring the island. Our room was also spotless and extremely comfortable. Breakfast could not have been better. Thank you!

Martlets proved to be an outstanding choice for our stay on the Isle of Wight. We had no concerns.

Could not fault Martlets at all. It looks great when you arrive and is just as lovely inside. We had a fantastic welcome from Jill (& Jonty & Jess!), who made us feel really welcome and couldn't have been more helpful. The room was beautifully done out and exceptionally comfortable with a lovely en suite. Plenty of choice for breakfast, cereal, fruit, yogurt and the very tasty cooked to order. Plentiful tea or coffee and toast. We found it quiet and relaxing......just what we needed. Location is far enough out of town to be quiet but close enough to get into town on foot. Jill is so helpful too with recommendations of places to visit. Even before our trip she sent us a list of places to eat so we could book in advance, all the places we tried were worth it. Thanks Jill for a fab holiday.

Nothing!

Jill is a great host, made me feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The B&B itself is modern, clean, and a short walk into Shanklin. Breakfast was delicious! Jill's two dogs Jess and Jonty are very sweet. All in all I'd highly recommend Martlets B&B!

Nothing. I had a very enjoyable stay and exceeded expectations.
