Loved the evening bar. Loved the pool although used it only once due to weather. Loved the breakfast and the fact that you could have cooked breakfast too, was extra special - all delicious. The coffee was generous in quantity and excellent. The service so kind and friendly. It was lovely to see the dogs around the hotel too. Even as a cat lover it was fun to have them there. The gardens were super and the view breathtaking.

Well now you mention it - a shower for the swimming pool which is usual in most places with a pool. The other thing was having a safe in the bedroom. Passports, keys etc... and cash you're not using - those are helpful to put in a safe so you don't need to have them with you; especially keys and passports.

Breakfast was very good, staff friendly.

The bathroom was too small, the toilet roll fixture was too close to the loo and there were no grab rails in the shower.

The location was just by the sea and the view from the hotel was mesmerising. Room was exceptionally clean and was cleaned everyday. The 2 outdoor pools and the indoor pool were the highlights of our stay. Breakfast was cooked to perfection. Although it's a dog friendly hotel, there was no smell of dogs at all ! The Chine, the gift shops, the restaurants were within easy reach. I would definitely stay here again.

Considering we stayed in August and had sunny mornings, the curtains were very thin and the brightness woke us up early. Could do with thicker ones. Other than that, a perfect hotel!

We absolutely loved our beautiful sea view room! We were so happy to find out we had access to the indoor swimming pool and play area next door also. With 3 pools, a children’s play room, retro play room and park this hotel is excellent value for money.

It is a hefty walk to the beach, not hotels fault this is due to cliff corroding, but they have tried their best to facilitate other options including free entry into a local attraction nearby to cut through. The walk was too far for my 4 year old after a long day at beach and not suitable for people with mobility’s issues. I would suggest taking your car if you struggle.

It's a splendid location and the adjacent Rylstone Gardens were perfect for exercising our collie. The interior was clean & well maintained and our room was spacious with a comfortable bed and small but adequate ensuite. The food was excellent! We enjoyed cooked breakfasts in the sunny dining room with superb views out to sea. It was complemented by a varied buffet which included delicious fruit salad and various tasty croissants. We also had two lovely dinners in Luccombe Hall, the neighbouring sister hotel. The staff were amazing. We received a warm, enthusiastic welcome and everyone did their utmost to make our stay a happy memory. Our collie was treated considerately & affectionately. We admire and praise the quiet efficiency and friendliness of the whole team.

A lift would help less mobile guests.

Breakfast was excellent with a lovely selection in the fruit salad . Fabulous views from the hotel and nice gardens.Friendly staff . Evening meal in the sister hotel was extremely tasty. Inside Swimming pool really nice with the bird sound and waterfall and comfortable temperature.

Slight whiff in bathroom . Not easy to work out how to operate the whirlpool . Instructions on wall would be useful ( too small to see on the whirl pool itself ). Usually you just have to press a button !! A rail would be useful for those with disabilities to get in/ out of the whirlpool/ Jacuzzi.Whilst I was able to get in/ out without a problem,I did see a couple struggling to get in.

The hotel was great right from the start. Staff were super friendly and showed us around the grounds. The grounds were beautiful and you have access to a swimming pool and games room! It's a dog friendly hotel, they have a muddy dog washing station outside and towels you can use. The room was lovely, spacious with big beautiful windows with a great view. They have electric blinds so you can keep the sun out when you're trying to sleep. They give you a little doggie bag for your doggie companions which includes, treats, a toy and some poo bags. (Very generous of them). Bathroom was great. Hotel is in a very quiet spot, good parking availability and close to Shanklin town so you can walk in at night for some dinner. Just an all round great hotel, hope to stay here again in the future.

Fresh, locally sourced ingredients made for a delicious and satisfying meal each morning. The variety was great, and everything was cooked to perfection. Room: Our room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring we had a restful night’s sleep. The attention to detail in the room’s design made it feel cozy yet elegant. Location: The hotel is set in a stunning and peaceful location, perfect for a relaxing getaway. It’s close to nature and ideal for exploring the surrounding countryside while still being accessible to local attractions. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Luccombe Hotel to anyone looking for a charming and comfortable retreat. We’ll definitely be returning!

The breakfasts equalled the best we have ever experienced and the evening meals were very good indeed. The room was comfortable and had all of the basic facilities you would expect in a room within this price bracket. The fridge containing a bottle of fresh milk each day, was a very nice touch. Our dog was very well accommodated throughout the hotel. The location, looking seewards, is stunning. Without exception, the staff were friendly and attentive and were genuinely interested in ensuring our happiness.

Insufficient hooks in the bathroom but that's about it.

I liked the large room with a view of the sea. It was nice to be able to open the sash windows fully. The bathroom was very clean with lots of hot water and the beds were comfortable. Having a little fridge and a coffee machine was a bonus and it was lovely to have milk replenished each day in a bottle instead of plastic pots. All the staff we met during our stay were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I enjoyed eating breakfast in the conservatory whilst watching the ships. I couldn’t believe the huge choice on the breakfast menu. We ate in the restaurant every night and the meals were excellent. Although we didn’t have a dog ourselves, as a dog lover I was impressed at how dog friendly the hotel was.

Having to walk through the garden in the rain and up lots of steps to the restaurant next door was the only thing that was tricky for an elderly person although it would be possible to walk or drive around the front of the hotel to avoid the steps.
