The Hotel needs a lot of TLC. As you walk into the hotel two smoke alarm cables were hanging out of the ceiling, where was the smoke alarm ??? Several bulbs needed replacing in the breakfast room. Fire doors were wedged open?? The stair carpet was filthy and loose, needed refitting. Didn't see any PAT test stickers on any appliances in the breakfast room or other room's. Two rooms we had,had broken floor boards and the carpet sunk in. Skirting boards were falling off. Wardrobe needed securing to the wall. An accident waiting to happen!!! Someone could get seriously hurt, especially a child,!!!

The whole experience was just brilliant, from the moment we got there we were treated like we had been there a hundred times by Salma the proprietor who was just the nicest person/hotelier that i have met in many years. The room was ultra clean and had a fabulous sea view and was very well appointed with everything that you could think of. The breakfast was amazing, plenty of well cooked food and lots of choice, served in a buffet style so you could eat as much or little as you wanted. Thanks Salma we will see you next year for quite a few weekends away on our favorite island.

Having to leave the place.

The view from our room was incredible, a lovely victorian style balcony that felt lovely to sit and watch a sunrise or the sailing boats in the evening. Staff were very friendly and attentive, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was plentiful that you could vary it. Great shower. Took away a lot of interiors inspiration too. Excellent location for not just parking but walking to the old town/local shop/beach. I liked that the restaurant wasnt too serving food late or busy in the evenings, it makes for a quieter venue.

The balcony room was very small, which for us was manageable but it's just something to be aware of. Having the balcony was extra space to spread out and so that help

The hotel was in a beautiful location, facing the sea from the back, where there was a cozy little garden and sitting area. It was a 10 min walk down to the beach and a 5 min walk to city centre as well. The shanklin chine (must visit) was only a short walk away. There was separate hotel parking which was convenient. The staff was very helpful and polite, with the owner actively involved in making sure our stay was comfortable. The breakfast was nice with a decent variety, english breakfast along with cereals and fruits for vegan/vegetarians.

The rooms were a little small but cozy enough. The carpets in the hallway were a little dirty, although the ones in the room were clean. One thing I would suggest is to add some vegan/vegetarian options in the breakfast, such as vegan sausages/bacon, otherwise the breakfast was superb.

Salma and her team were lovely! Genuinely hospitable and welcoming. The amount of enthusiastic thank you cards on the way reiterated this was not just good luck. The balcony view is as good as somewhere in the Mediterranean when the sun is shining. Complimentary breakfast on the outside terrace with a view of the sea sparkling in the distance, yes please!

It wasn't an issue as I was not in the room much and knew it was not a luxury hotel but the rooms are quite basic. But, this is only an issue if you are wanting/expecting a 4 star experience. Everything was very clean and the bed was comfortable so not an issue. Just be clear on what you want.

The location and view of the hotel is fantastic. The staff is really friendly especially the owner lady. The breakfast was well prepared and offered variety of options.

They offer only two bottle of water at arrival. If you need extra water then the best way is to buy from market otherwise it is quite expensive to buy from Hotel bar. Also it is best to contact hotel for booking as the website only show you the hotel room but not the room floor. There is no lift at the hotel/house so if you have room at top floor (5th floor) then it will be har for you if you don't like stairs.

The view was outstanding. The hotel has a small games room with pool table where you can play and look at the beach. The manager was really great, she made sure that our stay is as good as it can be. She managed to accommodate in a better room as the one we booked was not big enough. They had great breakfast and a bar. You can also speak to them for a discounted ferry into the Isle of Wight. We didn't because we didn't know.

The carpets in common areas are very bad. The pictures of single rooms does not really give you a good understanding of how small they are. But trust me they are very small, good for solo travelers.

Great location and view. Convenient parking at hotel and on street. Friendly, helpful staff, particularly owner, Salma. Ground floor room 2 comfortable and well presented with own balcony/terrace. Communal areas inside and out very attractive and well thought out. Comfy and not bland at all. Even had garden room with billiard table and table football. Good choice of hot and cold breakfast buffet options. We were accompanied on Friday morning by a pianist playing a variety of tunes. Dinner available as well on request. Variety of guests staying. Relaxed atmosphere. Hotel can even sort out half price ferries.

There wasn't really anything not to like.

It’s in a great location just up the hill from the seafront and there was plenty of parking available. Breakfast was lovely and the sea views whilst eating are second to none. The room was clean, comfortable and good value for money. Shower pressure and temperature was great! I loved the piano player at breakfast, amazing touch! The best thing about this hotel though is the staff. They are friendly and so accommodating. I needed a late check in and this was no problem at all for Salma. Salma and her team are great and I will definitely be coming back again. Thank you!
