Everything. A great hotel, in a great location and possibly one of the best I've stayed in on the IoW or anywhere. Very friendly welcome. Room comfortable and spotlessly clean. Excellent shower. Good wifi and full tv channels. The bar is one you'd want to actually use with a nice private garden overlooking the bay. The two owners really care about the guest experience, and all you have to do is ask. Breakfast is more than adequate and efficiently organised (with marmite if you ask!). Would definitely stay here again.

The welcome from the hosts, the team worked very hard and well together, pleasant and relaxed decor. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. Breakfast was good (buffet style). The hosts had good knowlege of the area and recommended restaurants and attractions. Very pleasant public areas for relaxing (garden, lounge, bar area, pool table). Cliff top walks walks, close by. Fairly near bus station. Great attention to detail and extra marks for subtle sustainability effort!

The room was a little small (we booked late and it was the last room available) but had everything we needed. I had some trouble with the shower control (water came on too hot). However it was relaxing room. and we slept very well (for us)

We had a truly wonderful stay at The Cliff Hall! From the moment we arrived, the customer service was exceptional – friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, with plenty of choice and everything cooked to perfection. The location is unbeatable, with breathtaking views that make the experience even more memorable. The accommodation itself was comfortable, spotless, and thoughtfully designed to make guests feel at home.

The moment you go inside you feel at home. Hotel himself in a wonderful location, breakfast was amazingly fresh and delicious and nothing missed. Very close by walk to restaurants, pubs, beach, old town, shinklin shine etc… the owners are truly amazing peoples. Deborah and Brendon were so lovely and couldn’t do better to make their guest happy. As we travel a lot and stayed in many others hotels around the world even more luxury then this Hotel , The Cliff Hill will stay in our memories as one of the best Hotel we ever stayed. The wiev from the room was just a heartbreaking and the bed was so comfortable. So easy to park just infront of the Hotel. In any way if you come to Isle Of Wight reserve directly here without hesitation, so easy to explore the island from this place. Thank you Deborah and Brendon for everything. If we come back to island one day we will directly reserve again and again in your lovely hotel 😊

So hard to say good bye

The views were absolutely amazing and unbeatable. Breath taking. The family that run it were friendly, welcoming and just really lovely. They couldn’t have been any more helpful. We were upgraded into a bigger room too which was lovely. Nice spacious room, nice size shower room, bed was incredibly comfortable and I slept the best I have slept in a long time. The location was great. Short walk from lovely pubs and restaurants. The little bar was cute and well stocked. Good parking. Short walk to the beach.

The tv was small as posted on some other reviews but we didn’t need a tv. There is so much to do on the island and we were hardly in the room. The little bar downstairs was well stocked and the sitting area very comfortable.

Great sized room. Unfortunately, the lock on bathroom door did not work and light over bu k bed needs screwing back into ceiling. Location was great and all staff welcoming.

Left early for the ferry and breakfast started after we left. Would have liked the option of having a few breakfast pastries as effectively we paid for a breakfast we didn't have. Some parts of hotel needed repainting esp gloss on skirting board. We were put on a breakfast table completely tucked away. It was a struggled to get in and out from the table. There were lots of marks all over the walls. We couldn't understand why we couldn't have been sat at a window table as it was free.

Amazing stay at the Cliff Hall. Both the hosts, Deborah and Brendan were amazing. They were so welcoming and courteous even before we arrived. They were very accommodating to our requests and were treated not as guests but as family. The view from the sea view room was breathtaking as the property overlooks Shanklin beach with the view of the ocean and sailing boats etc framed by large panoramic windows - my children loved that they could gaze into the distance from the comfort of the room. The sandy beach is literally 5 mins away so very prime location. Ideal with families with children. The property itself is filled with history and nostalgia and my family loving the fantastic stories with echoes from it's Victorian past. It's a very welcoming and inviting property and the hosts make it extra special with their personal touches. The breakfast service was really nice, with options that keep everyone happy and to get a head start for the day. The waiting staff are on hand and we're really helpful.

It was a great weekend away. Stay at The Cliff Hall from arriving to leaving the staff were so friendly and helpful nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was buffet style, from cereal to full cooked breakfast so you could have how much you wanted with all diets covered. The twin room that we stayed in was well maintained and had everything we needed. The bathroom with shower was clean. It was lovely in the evening having a bar that you could get a drink and sit out in the garden or in the conservatory overlooking the sea. They were helpful with the ferries and made sure when arriving everything was good arriving as there was a little delay on the ferry service.

Very pleased I chose The Cliff Hall for my solo mini break in Shanklin. Lovely and attentive hosts, I felt very welcome here from the moment I arrived! My single room was very clean, light and airy, with a beautiful side view of the sea and a comfortable bed. The location is excellent - easy walking distance to everywhere, including the beach. I was very happy here. Thanks so much and hope to see you again!

Very comfortable hotel. Brendan and Deborah were very welcoming and were very knowledgeable about every aspect of the island. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was buffet style and was excellent. The rooms were comfortable and it was very quiet at night. Amazing views from the breakfast room and bar.
