The location was perfect for a first time visit to the island. All the staff we came across were fantastic & could not have been anymore helpful. Breakfasts & the one evening meal we had here were lovely.

The room was a little on the small side for a 4 night stay - the bathroom door banged into the bed when opened. I’m sure this will eventually cause damage to the door or bed frame. The coffee machine in our room didn’t work properly. Staff very kindly changed it for us but that didn’t work either! Possibly time to upgrade these machines?!

Anita made us so welcome, our room was very well equipped albeit small for two people, but adequate for our needs and the bed was very comfortable and the shower was very good. We had a very nice cooked breakfast on both days, tasty and well presented. The pub was perfectly situated for us being, very close to out relatives in Niton, and it was so great to have free parking too.

As I mentioned to Anita at the time, it would have been really helpful to have a small shelf on the side of the bed, which was closest to the wall, for water, glasses, book etc, and maybe even a lamp! Otherwise, we were quite happy with our little room.

Location and the pub in general. Very nice and friendly.

There were only two couples at breakfast. The lady serving us was lovely and very attentive, however my breakfast when it arrived the sauce was not warm enough. I maybe should have said something but by that point my husband had started eating ! On the menu for breakfast it showed bake beans but they had run out ! And I heard the other couple ask for kippers which they too did not have ! It's little things like this which annoys me

Nice place. I got a discount on the room from a certain website, if I’d paid the full price I would say it was expensive.

I ordered a dish and an ingredient was missing when it arrived. The ingredient was integral to the dish. I couldn’t see the food wasted so accepted a discount, but if I knew beforehand I would have ordered something else. I ordered pudding to make up for it. I thought the food was over priced for what it was.

Excellent location, especially for the event start location we were participating in. Easy to reach from the Ferry and plenty of parking. Food was wonderful; we had a delicious dinner and breakfast, staff were super helpful. Room was clean, bathroom was spotless and seemed brand new. Room even had aircon - unheard of even in expensive hotels in London. Wish we could have stayed for longer. Bed was probably softer than we would prefer - but it was warm and comfy nonetheless.

I don't think there is anything we didn't like - we have pretty simple needs. Worth knowing that the room we had was compact, so if you prefer lots of space, chairs to sit on etc - you need to ask for a larger room,

I had a good phone call before booking. We got a phone call the night before checking what time we’d be arriving to make sure someone was around to greet us. My partner struggles to find gluten free options and the offerings were suspiciously good so she didn’t feel left out of options because she was gluten free. The bed was comfy, breakfast was diving and the shower was amazing.

There’s a private entrance / exit our keycard worked on incase the pub was shut and we wanted to get in and out of our room. Door took a little bit of a slam or shove to open and close, but this is more of a nitpick and if that’s my only complaint then it’s not much of a complaint. Place was very good.

The White Lion lived up to our expectations in all respects and exceeded in some areas. Staff were very accommodating and friendly.

Very often at breakfast we were served with more than we asked for. As an example I asked for one egg on a one piece of toast and I was served with two eggs on two pieces of toast. I ate them rather than it being wasted but since I was facing a drive of 250 miles I did not want a full stomach. I also would have liked some fruit available on the breakfast menu. This did not spoil our stay.

Very comfortable room, coffee machine and kettle, bottles of water replaced each day. Staff were fantastic and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was good.

There appeared to be some supply problems with the dinner menu. For instance, no steaks or pork belly available either of the nights that we dined in. Location wise, we were unable to get a cab on the final evening. Possibly because we were there before main holiday season had started.

Lovely exceptionally clean and tidy inn located in a very small village on the south coast of IOW with lovely very helpful staff Fantastic clean and comfortable room, a little compact but really tastefully decorated with an excellent on suite bathroom

Stayed fort three nights, unfortunately cooked breakfast was not available on morning one due to a problem with the gas Staff were excellent in providing extra tea/coffee/toast and rustled up some ham and cheese on request so we went a little continental. Other breakfast mornings were really very good

The manager and all the staff we saw were very helpful. We had dinner there and it was excellent along with the breakfast which was included. The room was very clean and adequate for our 2 night stay.

Just need to say there is a steep indoors stair case to the rooms, just incase a person is unable to climb the stairs. We did know we were on the 1st floor as the property had informed us.
