Location with terrace and dining room facing The Solent. Ideal for watching the passing shipping and yachts. Friendly staff. Good value food. Comfortable

Tables in the dining room were not set out for dinner. Cutlery was placed out inside a napkin. This made it feel more like a pub environment than a restaurant. Wine menu was not offered just a small card on each table which was not very noticeable.

Very good communication prior to our arrival. Friendly reception staff who reserved a beautiful quiet room for us. Huge comfy bed. Squeaky clean including the hall way and restaurant. It looked recently redecorated. We really enjoyed our huge breakfast: the croissants were warm , full English with black pudding. Again lovely staff. Such an hidden gem right on the sea front, definitely will come again 10:10.

Excellent hotel with all the amenities, far better than any chain hotels as feels a lot more welcoming and homely. Really clean room, excellent friendly staff who are very accommodating, and really great breakfast included for an extra £15. Really worth it overall, enjoyed my stay.

Rooms were exceptionally hot, so on a refurb the install of air conditioning for the summer months is really essential. Also the TVs were not HDTVs which in 2024 is a bit poor.

Room was a superior room 20. The seat at the dressing table was all peeling faux leather about to collapse.The towel rail was on when it was 28 degrees outside, and the window only opened a couple of inches.The toilet had not been cleaned properly and the room was dusty.

I stayed here for a long bank holiday weekend. For me the location was great - a short walk to the town centre and as it is by the seafront, the promenade popular for walking was just across the road. The room was a good size and everything in the room made my stay quite comfortable. What stuck out for me most was the team working at the hotel. Everyone from reception to housekeeping to the restaurant servers was welcoming, attentive, and really focused on providing guests with the best stay. I had both breakfast and dinner at the hotel for all of my stay - loads of choices on the menu and portion sizes were generous. I had not planned to have dinner every night at the hotel but enjoyed dinner there on arrival and I noticed other dishes I wanted to try so I kept going back.

There is nothing I didn’t like.

Couldn't ask for a better location facing the sea. It was fun to watch all the ships coming in and out. You ate every meal with a view with a variety of options. The staff were nice and parking was easy. Walking the sea route was just wonderful. The ferry was very close.

I wish that I had paid for a sea view. My room was kind of small and faced apartments in the back of the hotel. However, it was always quiet.

Very tasty breakfast , well presented

Music although good a bit loud in the dining room , one of the waitresses talked very loudly when talking to her colleagues not very professional. Room 11 the noise carried up from reception / bar etc . Staff need to be more noise aware and could do with some notices to remind people to talk quiet on the stairs/landing , or soundproof the room

The location was perfect. Staff very friendly and efficient. Room clean and well laid out. Had a lovely dinner with plenty of choice and good value for money.

Found the hotel in general far too warm. Turned heating off and opened windows in the room but couldn’t do that downstairs. Found the Full English breakfast a bit greasy but that wouldn’t stop me staying again.

The location was excellent. Food was very good. Beds comfortable and room very clean.

Room was very warm due to hot spell. A bit disappointed in check out. We both noticed that the person on reception did not ask if everything had been ok and had we had a good stay. Needs to have a bit more training.

Well equipped comfortable room with good sea views. Friendly staff & excellent catering.. We could always park at the hotel & the location next to the promenade & 15 minutes walk from central West Cowes suited us well. The terrace facing the sea was a popular sheltered spot.

Increasing age with decreasing agility means a walk in shower cubicle would be better than a shower over the bath. As we ate at the restaurant 4 out of 5 evenings we felt that we had exhausted the menu so a 'specials' board would have been welcome.
