The breakfasts were very good. The morning chef was exceptional. On our final day, we had to leave at 6am he prepared a packed breakfast for us to be able to take with us on our journey. Brilliant! The location was lovely with views over the Solent.

The stairs! Very difficult, especially when your wife is blind. To compensate however, the manager and his staff were most helpful in ensuring that our bags were delivered to our room and taken down on the morning of our departure. We'll done Dave!

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel more than welcome from all the staff. Our room was ready 2 hours early. We enjoyed 2 fabulous meals in the bar/ restaurant downstairs. The breakfast was delicious and with the added bonus of selecting how we would like our eggs cooked and tailoring our breakfast choice of items.

At first I didn't like the shabby chic look but this grew on me and I really liked the place. it's not a new modern formica type hotel but vintage and homely. The food was really good from the bar and breakfast was excellent, with delicious scrambled egg with cream!! yummy. The room was comfortable but the bed on the hard side. The ensuite had good facilities and accompaniments, The location is great, with nice sea views over to Lymington and Hurst Castle. I will be returning on 25th November '24 for a week and I will book again.

The bed was a touch too hard and I could hear the springs creaking!!

Breakfast was really very good, everything you need to set you up for the day ahead. Choice of cereals, juice and a full cooked breakfast or just toast, whatever you want is no trouble to the these guys. We had our evening meals at the Woodvale and the food is great, a good selection to chose from on the menu and prepared to a really good standard. Our room was lovely, fantastic views out over the sea, great to wake up to. It was a quite big room so no issues with being cramped up and falling over cases etc as can be the case sometimes. The bathroom was also quite big, the shower was great, powerful jet of lovely hot water, just as I like it. Everything was spotlessly clean, and we got clean towels each morning when the lovely cleaning lady serviced the room. The bar area is busy with a mixture of tourists and locals, and there are various entertainments at times, on our first night there was a great fun quiz night, and on the 1st Wednesday of each month theres an open Mic night. The weather was very good during our stay and there is a huge outdoor area where you can sit out and enjoy the panaramic views, and I believe that when the boat racing is happening then its the perfect viewing place. No doubt we'll be back on our next visit to the IOW.

The only issue we had, and its a very minor one, is that there were a lot of steps to reach the rooms which are on the top floor of the building, it could prove to be a problem for anyone who has health issues as there is no lift. Getting our cases up and down, but I'm pretty sure that one of the staff would have assisted with this had we asked. The Woodvale is situated a little way out of Cowes and is in a great setting, but if you are not up to walking then it means either driving or getting taxis's. We like the walk, but something to bear in mind. Certainly wouldnt put us off going there again in the future.

The position and view from this Hotel is spectacular with beautiful sunsets. We were impressed by the quality of the rooms, food and service over the 2 days we stayed there. There is a wide breakfast choice, freshly cooked to order. There is a very nice ambience in the bar where lunch and dinner is on offer. You will not be disappointed. The staff are a marvellous team and make the Hotel what it is. We observed them working hard to maintain standards and accommodate their customers in a genuinely friendly and helpful way. A very special mention to the lovely Molly who went above and beyond for us. Thank you Molly and to all the team. We look forward to staying again.

We enjoyed our stay at The Woodvale, where we have been before. The rooms are comfortable and maintained to a high standard. There is a great breakfast, and a good menu in the bar for evening meals. The staff are welcoming and helpful. We also enjoyed taking part in the very popular quiz night on Monday evening. No problem parking on the street nearby. Could hardly be closer to the beach! We will come again.

Visitors need to be aware that there are some steep stairs to the rooms on the second floor.

Beautiful building in a perfect spot by the beach. Room was very clean with lovely cotton bedsheets & a super generous tea & coffee tray. Bathroom was luxurious with provided toiletry (& shower cap!) Staff were all so nice and friendly & they even carried our bag up the stairs. Breakfast was amazing with so many options. The veggie beakfast we had as so nicely cooked (best veggie sausages I've had for a while) Thank you very much we had a brilliant time.

Location and view were excellent. The Manager, Steve, was fantastic - very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive.

The shower head and cubical could do with a spray of mould & mildew. Sadly, we had no hot water one evening just when we were getting ready to go out. This was resolved by restarting the boiler, but it wasn’t enough before we went out.

Breakfast at the Woodvale was fantastic. The food was tasty and filling. Portions are good, staff were available to attend to our needs, they were friendly & helpful and they made our stay fabulous.

The only thing we would like improved is the bathroom extractor/ventilation, which we think could work better to quickly remove steam build up. Though the system works but we felt it could work quicker at dissipating steam build up.

From check in to check out the staff were exceptional, kind helpful and very friendly. Rooms very nice, clean and well equipped. Love the glass bottled water🙂now breakfast was another level absolutely gorgeous, never been offered full English or double included in price, compliments to the 👩‍🍳. Bar food equally as good. Views from rooms to die for overlooking the Solent. Will definitely be back
