I was in the classic double room to start with which was really comfortable. There was a little problem with the flush. The landlords organised an upgrade for me which was even better! There are two chefs, Dean and Jes who took turns to cook me a lovely breakfast every morning. They are friendly and efficient and both cook deliciously fluffy srambled eggs on toast. Nothing was too much trouble. The beds were comfortable and I had help with my heavy case both coming in and going out. I didn't have any other meals but breakfast as I,was visiting a friend who lives nearby and we ate at hers. I've heard that the roast on a Sunday is excellent though. They have two island beers on offer and they sited opposite Osborne House and just down the road from East Cowes Red Funnel ferry and the chain ferry to get to Cowes. There is a convenient bus stop outside which takes you to a big Waitrose close to the ferries, bus 4 or 5, or Ryde bus no. 4, or Newport bus number 5, if you go in the opposite direction. Dogs are welcome too, which is a great feature all over the island. Dogs are generally welcome in most eateries and quite a lot of shops. Dogs very much enjoy Osborne Gardens but they must stay on a lead. There's lots to see and sniff there for dogs and their people. The Prince of Wales pub has had a face lift downstairs and you get a very good welcome.

I had no complaints that weren't dealt with immediately. I was on the second floor and thought my bedrooms, first room 8 and then room 9 were quiet. Room 9 does face the road though which is busy, but quietens down after 11.30. It might bother some people. There is no lift, so it might be hard for those less mobile to climb the stairs.

The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The food was excellent. I would describe the Prince of Wales as a traditional British pub with ensuite accomodation. It was nice to receive a decent traditional English breakfast included in the cost with decent portions, fine ingredients and cooked to order. No Richmond sausages here ! It was also nice to have our little dog welcomed, none of this 'dog friendly room' business like some of the competition. If you are visiting Osborne House the pub is directly opposite the entrance. Parking good too.

The room was a little on the cramped side. Bed very comfortable but shower a bit on the small side for a large lump of a human like myself. But exceptionally clean. We were unfortunate in the fire alarm going off at 2.15am and because no staff were onsite it was almost an hour before it was turned off. Staff were extremely apologetic and promised drinks/meals as a gesture but as it was our last night there wasnt any chance to enjoy those. However I wouldnt hesitate in going back.

We were welcomed so warmly by the breakfast chef. We arrived early as we had a wedding to attend and the staff went above and beyond to enable us to have our room available to us early so we could get ready. The bedroom was very clean and had everything you needed, the bed was comfortable and the room was well presented. The bar staff in the evening were friendly and efficient and in the morning the staff were again very friendly and nothing was too much bother. Overall the experience was great and we decided before we had even spent the night that we would be back.

I thought the bedroom was cute. I had a single bed and it was very comfortable. I enjoyed my breakfast every morning and not having to walk through the busy pub to get to my room when I came back in the evening. There is a side entrance. It is situated right opposite Osborne House which is a lovely place to walk. It also has a bus stop right outside so if you don't want to use the car you can be at the chain ferry to Cowes within 15 minutes, or on the other side the buses go to Ryde and Newport. The shower was good and there were a nice lot of sockets in the room for various electricals to recharge at the same time. The staff were very helpful, especially the new head chef, Jes. He kindly carried my heavy case down the stairs.

The key was a little difficult to get into the bedroom door lock, but a little oil on the key would soon fix that. It is a busy road and I was fortunate enough to be round the side of the pub and not at the front.

The recent refurb on the ground floor, including car park and garden area, was desperately needed. This has transformed tired areas into a clean/bright and welcoming experience. Friendly and accommodating front of house staff including the daily room cleaning team ☺️

Suggestions: Dining area - a bell to ring for assistance would be a really useful addition, plus keep the radio on whilst service is ongoing as provides a pleasant background noise. Excellent breakfast choice: cereals, fruit, yoghurts, toast & preserves (restock these items daily to avoid disappointment) plus absolutely any combination you desire of a full English breakfast - brilliant.

Had parking , deans breakfast , dean was really helpful and informative about the area , cares about the standard of meal he turns out for the guests but needs help in the kitchen especially as they get busier

Being on the top floor , bathroom and toilet could do with an upgrade which I believe is on the agenda as they had only been reopened for a week, a couple of things need a tweak , rooms don’t really need turning over on a daily basis but bottled water and replenishment of supplies would be a plus, and more staff to address any issues, I am excited to see what else the new managers achieve when they have their attention to detail and full staff in place this could be the place to be , but it is a huge improvement on a previous stay prior to them being on board. Good luck we will visit again xx

Perfect hosts in every way. We were holding a wake for my brother in the function room and I stayed at the hotel the evening before. The bed was really comfortable and the room had everything you need. Samantha and Ronnie took all the stress and worries of what was a very emotional day and really looked after us. The food is delicious and the menu very varied. Thank you so much to you both and all of your team and please give your lovely doggies a big cuddle from me. I was so happy to have met them.

We had a lovely stay at the Prince of Wales. The staff were friendly and accommodating, allowing us to check in a little early as the room was ready and we were even able to leave our luggage for the day after check-out, which was very helpful for us. The room had everything we needed. It was a bit warm but there is a fan available in case you need it. They offer a small selection of breakfast which was great to start the day. The location was great, with Osborne House just a few yards away and the bus stop direction Ryde or Newport is just outside the hotel which is very convenient if you are travelling by bus. Highly recommended!

Comfortable twin room, good beds, lovely shower. Bike parking in rear garden. Very friendly team. Good kitchen, had cooked breakfast and also evening meal. On the main road but right outside entrance to Osborne House, so great if you are able to visit over two days.

Nothing really, awareness that rooms on front are on the main road but didn’t disturb us unduly. Just a small hopefully helpful tip for room cleaning ‘look up’ and occasionally clear cob webs. Otherwise all good.

Breakfast was awesome, great quality bacon and lovely poached eggs. Coffee was lovely too, would have liked to have got a second, but staff were busy. Staff were friendly. Room was great for the price, fab shower, and everything needed in the room. It was a lovely quiet room even with overlooking the beer garden. When shown to the room, it hadn't actually been cleaned, but the guy took me back to the bar while it was sorted and did a round of drinks for me and the family while my room was sorted and it was done quickly and looked fab.

The bed was not overly comfortable, mattress could probably do with being replaced soon.
