Good location with a fsnrastic view of the sea. We were so hapoy when we reached the horel as it looked so nice inside. it was only a 10minute walk straigjt down Hope Road from Shanklin station. It is great if you dont drive as accessible from the station. The hotel is on the costal path so not ideal if you have mobility issues. It is 2 minutes down the hill to the beach which was so convenient. A real bonus. Really great Our rwin room was lovely and the bed was comfortable. Towels changed daily.. The hotel was so quiet and we heard absolutely nothing both inside or outside. You saw the owners working around the hotel and they were friendly when we saw them. There was no fridge in the room but I mentioned it and after a day t here was mini one put in the room and this made a huge difference. The bathroom was clean and was The one point was there was No breakfast or any food and i said to the hotel as it was advertised when I booked that they would have breakfast but we explored other places to eat and it is out of season. It is a great hotel if you like quiet and being near the beach. The room could do with decorating finishing touches but we really enjoyed our stay in our lovely room. The owners were busy getting it ready for the new season and it must be difficult as a hotel next to it and opposite and all along the road. Thank you for our stay and the additional fridge which you could consider as standard when you are not doing any food.

Friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble; we got a call asking us to be on site earlier than planned for, so they sorted us out with breakfast before it was being served. You can see where they are gradually refurbing...the bar area has been done to a high standard, and whilst the rest of the hotel looks a little tired, it is showing signs of improvement! Prices in the bar were on par with the places to drink and eat in Shanklin so no worries there! Bed was fantastically comfortable, Room was adequate and very clean. We picked this up as a.last minute booking when our alternative accommodation fell through, and I actually think we got a better deal!

It may not be accessible to all, there is a steep set of steps to get in, but there is an alternative route through the bar to the left hand side, and you go down stairs for breakfast. Rooms on the higher floors may prove challenging for the less able.

on arrival the the room was not ready, we were a little early tho but waited a little longer, the staff/owner could not of been more apologetic about this and offered us free drinks to make the short wait a little easier, even tho it was only 15 minutes, it was nice and thoughtful, the food was nice and freshly made, breakfast was lovely and everyone who worked there were helpful at all times. we booked a room with a sea view and we got what we requested and what a real nice view it was looking over towards Sandown and the pier and beyond and out to sea.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Mayfair Hotel, and I couldn't be more impressed with the experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. Their warm hospitality and friendly demeanor truly set the tone for a memorable stay. The food was absolutely superb, with every meal being a delightful culinary experience. What stood out most was how they flawlessly fulfilled a special request I had made. Their attention to detail and commitment to guest satisfaction are truly commendable. I highly recommend the Mayfair Hotel for anyone seeking a top-notch stay.

The location of the Mayfair was perfect. The hosts/staff were extremely welcoming and clearly valued our custom and wished to make our stay as happy as possible. They had a perfect balance of being attentive while respecting privacy. I would 100% love to stay with them again. I truly felt that the guests pleasure was paramount. We accidentally left a valuable item behind and due to the nature of the Isle of Wight being on an island, you can't just nip back. Thankfully when we rang to explain (approximately 6 hours after checking out), they reassured us that the item was safe and that they would ensure that the item was returned to us. They also offer special rates for the ferry crossing which saved more than 50% of our original cost when looking to book independently.

If you are looking for perfection, air conditioning would have been great as we stayed during a heat wave and one of the window panes needs replacing due to misting within the panes. However this is being really picky and we still were provided with a fan and a fantastic sea view.

The bedroom view was spectacular. The staffs were very friendly and kind. They tried their very best to accommodate our needs especially us being with a 17 months old toddler. The guy at the reception was even kind enough to provide for warm water to prep my baby’s milk. Breakfast was great and my toddler loved it! The place was a home away from home. Our room was on the first floor which made carrying things up and down a bit difficult, but it was still very doable. The price of the room was affordable to consider any issues. We were able to put a travel cot to the room. Overall we spend an amazing 4 days!

While it was our fault to get sand on the bed. It would have been nicer if the room cleaner could get the sand off before making the bed. We had to wake up at 2 am to get the sand off. However, we probably should have been a bit more careful.

Very accommodating when our 2 rooms were on different floors and asked if we could possibly move so they were closer. They sorted it out with no problem at all. Breakfast was good. Rooms were cleaned during each day. Location of the hotel is excellent with only a short walk to the beach

Hotel was extremely quiet with no evening entertainment and a little on the pricey side for bar drinks

Due to a booking mix-up, we arrived a day later than we were expected. The hotel was actually closed that date for a private party, but when the owners learned of our plight they arranged to take us in anyway. What a delightful staff! They could not have been more cordial, and made every effort to make us feel comfortable. I can't say enough good about how accommodating they were. Don't judge this hotel by its rather bland exterior. A somewhat older structure has been wonderfully updated inside. It was exceptionally clean, and its Cliffside setting gave glorious views of the Channel. Our room was spacious and well-appointed. The bed was especially comfortable. Our overall experience was the best we've had since our trip began.

Amazing place! Staff were exceptionally welcoming and made us feel like home. Staff had gone out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. The restaurant was amazing and one of the best food I have had in the island. I highly recommend anyone staying here, already looking to book again this year to come back with my family. The beach is 2 minute walk with loads of places to choose from to eat and the views are amazing! Also free car park :)

Nothing!

The room was a good size, had a massive bathroom and a spectacular view of Culver Down (see photo). It was simple, but clean and comfortable. The location is perfect - right on Hope Road and a quick walk down to the beach or if preferred along the coastal path to the Old Village or Lake Beach. The full English breakfast was excellent and served by friendly staff. Perfect for a no frills stay that we found to be good value for money.

It didn't bother us, but there are a lot of steps into and throughout the hotel that people with mobility issues need to be aware of.
