We had a lovely stay at Haven Hall, the gardens are absolutely stunning, lots of secure private parking, pool & tennis, the weather was just beautiful (the aircon was a godsend) our room was spacious, lots of draws but the wardrobe was extremely shallow which made hanging clothes difficult, fine if you are there for a night but we were there for nearly a week. The turndown service & chocolate on the pillow was lovely. The hotel is in a peaceful setting on the cliff edge making for some stunning views.

For the price point the breakfast needs to be improved. Not everyone eats bread, cereals or pastries, I am diabetic so have to avoid such foods. For the price per night I would have expected cooked options, even just scrambled eggs would have been good. Also there needs to be some low background music in the dining room, it feels like you have to whisper as the room is silent and feels a bit awkward.

An exceptional stay that starts with a personal welcome from the owner and a tour of the premises. The property overlooks the sea with a view to chalk cliffs to one side. Each morning, the owner spends time at the breakfast table of his guests asking about their plans and advising on options. A short walk from the main house though the pretty gardens and past the helipad is the swimming pool and sauna. Our suite was very tastefully decorated and had its own kitchen. My 10 year old son loved sleeping in the living room with its chandelier. The shower and bathroom were also very modern, not always a given in an old house.

There is very little not to like. I myself am perfectly satisfied with a Continental breakfast, but it is increasingly expected to offer a few hot dishes as well. Perhaps some pancakes or waffles would not go amiss.

We had the most wonderful stay at Haven Hall Hotel! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth and hospitality. The hotel is beautifully designed, blending classic elegance with modern comfort. The owner and the staff went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of our stay was perfect, from the delicious breakfasts to the thoughtful recommendations for local attractions. The gardens are beautifully maintained, offering a peaceful retreat to relax and unwind. Overall, Haven Hall Hotel exceeded all of my expectations. It’s a true gem, and I can’t wait to return.

The continental breakfast was very good, we were going to go out for breakfasts but ended up staying every morning. The owner had made her own banana bread and lemon curd. The hotel itself was lovely and the grounds were amazingly kept.

It was a little further away from the beach than we thought, in terms of how high the hotel is so there is a lot of walking involved up and down the coastal path but of course you could drive down if needed.

We had a most gorgeous 5 days holiday staying at The Haven Hall hotel. We have stayed at the best hotels on the coast of Dorset and Hampshire but this hotel is way above the standards to be found there and well worth the few extra miles. The hotel is a beautiful house in a superb location. The house and extensive grounds are maintained to the highest standard, with exceptional attention to detail. David and his wife have created a wonderful ambience for guests which is also their home. Breakfasts are delicious with a wide variety catering for all diets. Although the hotel does not offer evening meals, the Isle of Wight now has many gourmet restaurants specialising in seafoods and locally grown produce. Thank you for a most wonderful holiday.

The Hotel is elegant, very well taken care of, and has a very homey feeling..starting from the gates, the nice massive gardens, grass tennis court, and etc there is a welcoming aura about Haven Hall Hotel. David, the owner, along with ALL his staff are very friendly, super attentive & responsive, and simply make you feel that they are very keen in ensuring your needs are well catered for, in the friendliest of manners. The Sailboat suite was clean, smaller than what it appeared like in the picture but it has all that is listed. The quality of furniture, finishing, etc is of above standard level so cannot complain. Kitchenette is also very comprehensive (fridge/microwave/kitchenware/cutlery/etc) even though we didn’t use it. Room cleaning is very nicely done when you’re out with no disturbances and they were nice enough to leave us some nice chocolate and prepared the bed for when we came back at night. Breakfast is made to order and was done as per expectations and the chef/staff were happy to cater for slight changes too. Options on offer to choose from are quite reasonable (choices have to be submitted the day before). David, was also very helpful with suggestions for lunch/dinner locations (a useful list was made available), super useful advice of having to pre-arrange taxis to and from to avoid long waits, as well as activities/attractions he recommends were all much appreciated & useful! The ONLY thing we had slight reservation on is the swimming pool which is sadly not heated and as we went there at around 6pm, the water was not warm enough (the weather was admittedly cooler than earlier in the afternoon).

We stayed in Seaview 2 which was just next to the main house and had beautiful sea views and morning sunshine. The room was comfortable with seating area and very well equipped with fridge, toaster etc. The hotel overall is stunning, the gardens are very well kept and you can sit out and enjoy the views of the weather is good. The pool is a lovely sheltered area to relax with towels provided. Breakfast had lots of choice. As vegetarians we were well catered for. We were able to charge our electric car during the stay which was very useful. Location wise you can easily take the footpath down towards the seafront where there is cafes, ice-creams etc. To get to the main town centre it’s about 20 mins walk which is where the main pubs and restaurants are. We found the hotel to be well situated to visit all different parts of the island. Definitely recommend Coast in Cowes for a nice meal. We also had good meals at Pendletons in Shanklin and The Bistro in Ventnor. David is a great host and had lots of tips on where to see and was flexible with check in/ checkout which we appreciated

Haven Hall is magnificent, a real home away from home, a spiritual gateway to a bygone age. The interior design is gorgeous: tastefully restored period furniture from the Edwardian era, charming soft cushions, an exquisitely crafted wooden fireplace from 1906, lovely lampshades everywhere, crystal chandeliers, splendid mantel clocks, model sailboats. From the outside you hear a gentle, trickling sound from a water fountain, coupled with the occasional calls of seagulls. However, when windows are closed, your room is absolutely quiet, you have a perfect serenity, I always had such a good night’s sleep. The garden is incredible: manicured lawns, flowers in full blossom, lavish palm trees, sweeping panoramic views to the sea. Birds and butterflies everywhere. Not even on the Mediterranean have I seen such a beautiful landscape. David and Arielle’s hospitality is second to none. Whenever I sent an inquiry before my arrival, they always replied within minutes. I was welcomed like a privileged friend in their house, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was the highlight of my days. When I mentioned how much I had liked Arielle’s home-made banana bread during my previous stay, she kindly prepared one for the next day, even though it was not yet on the breakfast menu of the season. It was heavenly delicious with rhubarb custard and lemon curd, I could enjoy it every single day. I also adored their Eggs Royale with warm sauce hollandaise. This was my third stay here, but I have already made a new booking for September. I’m ever so happy and proud to have found such a blissful retreat on a fairy-tale island. I simply can’t have enough of this magical world. Highly recommend.
