Mayfair was very quiet and peaceful. Check in was swift and efficient with just the right amount of friendliness for me. Room very clean and comfortable with everything I needed for a short stay. shower excellent. Luckily I had no mobility issues but it would be very dificult for anyone with limited mobility. Steep steps to Entrance, lots of stairs to rooms with no lift. Shanklin has a lot of hills anyway. Lovely sea view from the front of the propert. Great value for money. I did not try the menu but it looked very tempting.

I felt that I was the only guest, didn’t see one other person during my stay. I am sure that people would return for a short stay as the value was great.

Good location with a fsnrastic view of the sea. We were so hapoy when we reached the horel as it looked so nice inside. it was only a 10minute walk straigjt down Hope Road from Shanklin station. It is great if you dont drive as accessible from the station. The hotel is on the costal path so not ideal if you have mobility issues. It is 2 minutes down the hill to the beach which was so convenient. A real bonus. Really great Our rwin room was lovely and the bed was comfortable. Towels changed daily.. The hotel was so quiet and we heard absolutely nothing both inside or outside. You saw the owners working around the hotel and they were friendly when we saw them. There was no fridge in the room but I mentioned it and after a day t here was mini one put in the room and this made a huge difference. The bathroom was clean and was The one point was there was No breakfast or any food and i said to the hotel as it was advertised when I booked that they would have breakfast but we explored other places to eat and it is out of season. It is a great hotel if you like quiet and being near the beach. The room could do with decorating finishing touches but we really enjoyed our stay in our lovely room. The owners were busy getting it ready for the new season and it must be difficult as a hotel next to it and opposite and all along the road. Thank you for our stay and the additional fridge which you could consider as standard when you are not doing any food.

The position of this hotel is perfect. Rooms with a sea view have an amazing view. Each room has tea and coffee making facilities that you can top up as you need to. We ate a chicken biryani in the restaurant which was very tasty. The staff were very pleasant and helped us carry our bags up and down from the room.

The rooms were not serviced each day and we nearly ran out of toilet paper. The beds were extremely hard. The kettle lead wasn't long enough to reach the table so we had to put it on the floor. Our room did not have a sea view.

Family run by Indian family, all very helpful and polite, cultured people. The food was exceptionally good, we travelled from mainland (cotwolds) on a motorcycle and booked online the afternoon of arrival, we ate at a pub in Brading which was mediocre at best and overpriced, whereas the Mayfair is extremely well made homecooked Indian cuisine at a fraction of the pub cost and hugely better. I would definitely stay again. ❤

My wife would have liked mint tea, but hey you can't have everything..... no faults, we enjoyed our stay, very much.

It has been nicely done but on a budget, it's a 2 star hotel and given that I would say about the best you could get, I'd even say it should be maybe above this and could be with a bit of refurbishment. Incredibly clean, not seen a hotel with so much attention to cleanliness detail. Staff are super friendly and THERE IS BREAKFAST HERE it's just separate to the hotel run by a different concern. The views were lovely

Draws in the room need to go they cheapen the place.

We stayed for one night as we were attending the Isle of Wight Jazz Weekend but wish we'd been able to stay for longer. The staff were incredibly friendly and our room was really big with a stunning sea view. The exceptional food at this hotel is made fresh and includes meals such as vegan pancakes for breakfast and biryani for dinner. The bar stays open late and there is a pool table in the bar area. The location is superb being a short walk from the seafront and Shanklin town.

Friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble; we got a call asking us to be on site earlier than planned for, so they sorted us out with breakfast before it was being served. You can see where they are gradually refurbing...the bar area has been done to a high standard, and whilst the rest of the hotel looks a little tired, it is showing signs of improvement! Prices in the bar were on par with the places to drink and eat in Shanklin so no worries there! Bed was fantastically comfortable, Room was adequate and very clean. We picked this up as a.last minute booking when our alternative accommodation fell through, and I actually think we got a better deal!

It may not be accessible to all, there is a steep set of steps to get in, but there is an alternative route through the bar to the left hand side, and you go down stairs for breakfast. Rooms on the higher floors may prove challenging for the less able.

on arrival the the room was not ready, we were a little early tho but waited a little longer, the staff/owner could not of been more apologetic about this and offered us free drinks to make the short wait a little easier, even tho it was only 15 minutes, it was nice and thoughtful, the food was nice and freshly made, breakfast was lovely and everyone who worked there were helpful at all times. we booked a room with a sea view and we got what we requested and what a real nice view it was looking over towards Sandown and the pier and beyond and out to sea.

Clean, comfortable beds and good shower water pressure so all the essentials ticked. You can tell it's been redecorated fairly recently but could do with some of the furniture and carpet in particular being replaced as it's tired. Better than other places at the price point though and in a fantastic location with good sized car park so overall would recommend. We ate elsewhere as there's a brilliant cafe on the beachfront near Sandown (Fins) so can't comment on breakfast.
