Stunning location, with views from the dining room across the sea. Beautiful gardens. Outdoor jacuzzi with a view of the sea. Beautiful bedroom with whirlpool bath in the en-suite. Friendly staff who were always cheerful and helpful. Great breakfast. Beautiful evening meals, Well stocked bar. Retro 80’s room with free Arcade machines. Shanklin is a beautiful old English village with a walk through the historic Shanklin Chine to the promenade.

Very minor whinges: shower in en-suite was disappointing. (Especially after the amazing shower in the changing area for the outdoor pool). Towel rail in bathroom was burning hot. Shower for sauna was out of order. The jacuzzi jets were not all functioning.

The facility has a lot of amenities ( access to three heated pools with jacuzzi and sauna, games room with various games, evening singers from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm ) and beautiful sea views. The location was fantastic within 5 mins walk to village town centre and the coastal side. Hotel booking also give you 50% discount on a ferry ( ferry has to be booked by them) and free pass to the Shanklin Chine. The staff were fantastic, service with a smile, and provided everything we asked for. We felt very welcomed and will definitely rebook if we are planning a trip back to Isle of Wright. We also had food in the hotel in one of the night, from a takeaway menu, the pizza was amazing, so I can imagine the restaurant meal will be too. Their restaurant was always busy for both lunch and dinner.

My room (room 4) was far too small for the amount I paid (£1000 for three nights through booking.com WITHOUT breakfast). This was very disappointing as the room was very basic without fridge or bathrobes/slippers, which i would expect from the price. These would have been handy for going to the pool, as to access the pool, you have to go through the restaurant full of people having their meal. The room didn't have a balcony but had a side view of the sea through the window.

Breakfast was good, location great. Lovely gardens and heated outdoor pool.

Bath needed a shower curtain or screen and there should be non slip floor tiles in the bathroom.

Location was great, the town and Shanklin Chine and Beach were in close reach by foot. Our room was lovely and the bunk beds are a great design to maximise on floor space. Hot tub was a lovely added touch. Bar and cocktails were great, we could have spent ages in the retro games room and our son loved the play room. There are so many additional features to this hotel that gives a great balance for adults and children. Huge shout-out to Cathy who was wonderful with our 2 year old he absolutely adored her.

Our room was very clean, lovely view of the sea and the children loved the bunk bed. The gardens are very nice and nicely kept. Lovely flowers. We had tickets to visit the chine which was close by and very nice. The swimming pool was very clean and because of good weather we stayed for a few hours. The breakfast was good and we also had lunch there which was great. We would go back for sure.

As it was a very warm weekend it would be good if there was aircon but they gave us a fan which helped.

Breakfast and afternoon tea were excellent. Room was very clean and well appointed. I particularly liked the TV which allowed me to connect to my Netflix account so I could continue watching a series I’m in the middle of. The facilities around the hotel were excellent. The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. There was helpful information in the guide and details of lots of lovely walks for guests to go on around the Island. All in all, it was a really relaxing stay. I just wish it could have been longer!

The pillows were too firm for me to have a good night’s sleep. I would have expected a soft and a firm pillow, to offer more choice to suit everyone. Also, the changing room by the indoor pool was not very clean and tidy. Not the hotel’s fault but rather the other guests leaving it in a state (used, wet towels and tissues on the changing bench, talcum powder all over the floor). Not very nice. Also, the jets in the spa pool didn’t really work. It wasn’t just me being unable to switch them on. Two other guests said the same to me.

The room was lovely and the family facilities were great - games rooms with lots of activities, pool sauna etc…

The chef - I have severe allergies and although all details shared and taken. The evening meal first night the chef failed on starter and mains to provide safe food (I gave up on attempt number 3). Breakfast was fine (kept it very simple) although I did have to take additional antihistamines on one day. Husband and son both really enjoyed their food and had a lovely meal so as long as no allergies recommend for food too. Other than that the property and staff were great and super friendly and helpful.

Our stay was fantastic, the room bright and spacious. Especially the bathroom was superb, my 9 year old daughter loved the jacuzzi bath tub. The garden and pool area was beautiful and clean. Very calm and relaxing. All the pools are heated and with a nice temperature. Dinner was superb. Easy and quick access to the beach and town centre, right next to the Shanklin Chine and A couple of cute local pubs. Steve and Claire are excellent hosts. Our car broke down during our stay. Steve was very helpful and resourceful, helped to start the car in a split second, which was a massive stress relief! Thank you very much for your help! We absolutely loved our stay at Luccombe Hall and will definitely be back!

Can't think of much. The breakfast could have been a bit better. My full english breakfast wasn't the best of qualities. Tasted a little cold but not really anything that bothered or troubled me too much ( still ate all of it ;) ) and wouldn't keep me from coming back.

The view from the room was excellent. The room was bright, clean and comfortable, with plenty of storage. The breakfast was great with a large selection available. We were also pleased that we were able to customise the full English breakfast. All the staff were very polite and welcoming.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like however, we did have a leaking gutter on the balcony which dripped directly onto the outside furniture so we were unable to use it.

Fantastic stay. The staff make you feel very special, nothing too much trouble. The location is wonderful, the sea view from the gardens, on a sunny morning, is very beautiful. Our room was large, light, clean and comfortable. Breakfast delicious, room service (evening takeaway) was spot on, and very reasonably priced. Our 4th visit (normally Luccombe Manor next door - sister hotel), and we’ll be back again soon
