The staff were amazing, and the hotel and location were a perfect 🥰 lovely atmosphere in the evening . I loved the pool and location to the local village, lyndhurst

The breakfast was not great, the quality of the food was not amazing and there were lots of options missing. The staff were apologetic and lovely. They just need to hold more stock and booking.com need to explain the breakfast options when including breakfast on their bookings as the hotels had several options. Not the lodges' fault, this was a booking.com error as they are not clear. The hotel did not charge us extra, which was amazing as it was not their error, and there were 7 of us, so 5 stars to the lodge.

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them; Breakfast included a very good choice of cereals, cooked, fruit and pastries; pool on site but we forgot to pack our costumes! As there are no longer restaurant options for the evening meal, the staff recommended a great option a couple of minutes' walk away. Excellent location and only a short walk away from Lyndhurst centre.

Our room was spacious and comfortable, but the furniture could do with an upgrade - although there was lots of storage space! Not much to dislike about this hotel.

Beautiful property, exceptional staff, and great location. From check in to check out It was fantastic. We have a Alsatian type dog who comes away with us, and can safely say this is the most pooch friendly place we have stayed at in the new forest (we’ve stayed at a few), without cutting back on any of the luxuries that some dog friendly places provide. We had a lovely big room, which allowed us to pop our dog bed on the floor and still have plenty of room to get round and dressed. There was a very lovely welcome gift for our pawed pal which was a lovely touch ☺️ We didn’t manage to have breakfast but we had a lovely dinner in the bar area which was very much enjoyed!

Hotel was perfectly located for my Son and I to do a long walk in the New Forest - Lyndhurst to Brockenhurst and back. It is obvious the hotel needs a little bit of TLC but that shouldn't take away from the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff. We had a friendly welcome and staff were courteous thought-out. Our bedroom was comfortable.

I can't speak to the state of the other rooms but the our room could have done with a lick of paint and a general update. This was also obvious with the swimming pool and a few other areas. The basement room with TV and games could be a great space if given some attention.

Easy to find hotel set back from main road into Lyndhurst and only a few hundred metres from the High Street. Easy parking, very pleasant hotel reception and layout. All staff without exception were remarkably helpful and friendly. Rooms were very comfortable and bed too. Super heated indoor pool and facilities. Dog walks in all directions and Waterloo Arms pub just a stone's throw along the road as another destination to explore on the doorstep. Excellent value for money all round.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, the room was very comfortable and had everything you need and more, including the nice Christmas / New Year welcome of a card and chocolates in the room - a lovely touch. The provision of a cosy, comfy quiet room to relax is also excellent. The breakfast food and staff were absolutely brilliant.

The bar was very welcoming but some comfy seating rather than just tables would have seen us spend time in there for a drink... it's the only thing I can think needs improving.

All the staff at the hotel were super friendly and really helpful. Our room was very clean, a good size and had the most amazingly comfortable beds and pillows. Breakfast was great with lots of help yourself cereal, yogurt, toast and pastries plus a full menu if you wanted a hot breakfast, i.e. porridge, Full English, pancakes etc. The pool was amazing, super clean, really warm and a great size and there is a 'cellar' in the basement which has board games, sofas and a large TV. The location of the hotel couldn't be more perfect, a few minutes walk into the high street that has every restaurant, pub and shop you could wish for, as well as a Ferrari garage (much to my son's delight!). I can't recommend this hotel enough.

The only tiny niggle I have is that the water pressure in the shower in our room was really poor.

The room was small but very clean and comfortable. The bed linen was lovely and the pillows were like sleeping on a cloud. The breakfast was good - plenty of choice and very fresh. The staff in the restaurant were very pleasant and efficient - the head waitress was very knowledgeable about the local area and gave us some good pointers for days out.

Only criticism - there were no spoons in the room for tea and coffee.

Great experience from start to finish.. lovely room with everything you need..soft bed and pillows...great drinks facilities..fresh water daily.. fantastic breakfast... lovely swimming pool..a cellar room to chill or read or play board games...great parking... location was ideal ..six minutes to the center of Lyndhurst..a great pub a few hundred yards away..super friendly and helpful staff...will definitely stay again

Nothing to complain about at all

Spent a perfect couple of nights with a friend at the Forest Lodge over the Bank Holiday weekend. Hotel ideally located, short walk into Lyndhurst. We had a good twin room at the front overlooking the common with horses grazing. Beds were extremely comfortable and shower was powerful. Great to have the pool. Staff were amazing. So friendly..particularly the reception staff...who couldn't have been more helpful. Just one thing I would say bathroom accessories and tea tray items were lacking.
