Great location. Very friendly and engaging staff. Food exceptional. Thank you.

We did have a small dog with us but when we arrived, we found that the bathroom still had old dog hair swept into a small pile which hadn’t been removed. There was a £20 minimum charge for having a dog, so feel a slightly better cleaning job could have been done. The bin area to the right of the car park had been ‘raided’ by a horse, and contents overflowing on the floor as bin bags left out and not put into containers. I think these small points are worth mentioning but don’t detract from the overall very positive experience.

Location was wonderful, as was the staff. We stayed 2 nights and ate in the restaurant both evenings. First night the food was distinctly average. Second night it was exceptionally good. Very different experience !! Bedrooms, although very hot, were nicely kept and comfortable (once we'd opened the windows) !!

We visited in January. 4 comfy chairs by the fire but that was it. Another fire wasn't lit and chairs throughout the rest of the area although looked comfortable really were not. So we found nowhere nice to sit and chill over a few drinks. Both evenings the bar shut at 9.30 - which we understand - but again we were asked to move out of the bar area and had nowhere to go apart from back to our rooms. I think this needs to be looked at and considered. Some sort of lounge area is definitely needed for overnight visitors. Quite a few things missing off of the menus. Appreciate that the Inn is very secluded... but running out of yogurt for breakfast! Really! No fruit for drinks the previous evening. Heck!

A beautiful pub that has tasty, value for money upmarket pub grub, a wonderful beer garden and terrace. The inside of the pub is welcoming and warm with wonderful wingback arm chairs to sit around the fire place. All of staff were very friendly, professional and attentive. We could only stay one night, but wish we could have been another night or two. Their rooms are tastefully decorated, and the beds very comfortable with lots of nice extra touches, like home cooked biscuits and plunger coffee. We enjoyed a couple of spectacular walks through New Forest and loved seeing so many the wild ponies basking in the sun in the carpark and in the forest.

Only one thing.- We ordered seasonal veg as a side dish with our meal. The meals was lovely, except the greens were supposed to be cooked in garlic butter. They were cooked nicely, but we couldn’t detect any butter or garlic. It was just a small bowl of wilted spinach for £5.75.

This was an amazing stay, I had come from my father’s funeral, seeking a bit of sanctuary after a difficult day and boy, it was perfect. Will, who greeted us and showed us to our room was sympathetic and attentive and could not have done more to help. The room was truly magnificent, the hotel had two log fires going with comfy leather sofas to relax in. We were given a complimentary bottle of wine with dinner as their acknowledgment of our difficulties during the day. We were treated like old friends visiting, and will really treasure our experience of this beautiful place.

Had we stayed one more night I could have tried out the glorious looking bath in the room, a reason to return.

We had a very friendly welcome. The room was very well presented and as described. Several members of staff stood out. On arrival we were welcomed by Zoe, very engaging and funny. Thank you Charlotte, you were at all times welcoming, polite and professional. Mike on morning service worked very hard being on his own. Prompt polite and again engaging service. Really enjoyed our food, especially the venison, prepared by Piers, beautifully presented. Weather was kind and we enjoyed the walks we did in the surrounding area. This was our first stay in a Butcombe pub. We joined their loyalty scheme. Benefitted from the Wednesday food discount. Will definitely be visiting some of their other locations based on the experience.

We were in the Kingfisher room which was absolutely beautiful. Be aware though there is a room above you. The guests staying in it would have their television on loud after they returned from evening service until after 11. Disappointing as you could clearly hear it. The inn had a beautiful fire lit in the bar area, would have been nice to sit in front of it one afternoon as the weather was poor. The staff were however gathered in that area so a little awkward.

No faults at all, we had read some bad reviews online which did point me on guard but I really don’t know what people have to complain about as everything was fantastic. The staff are amazingly hospitable, the food was delicious and the bedrooms very very comparable and well fit out. 10/10 from us! (The fact it is dog friendly was also fantastic)

They had some boiler issues the first morning we stayed which mean we had no hot water, however we had a hike planned anyway and when we returned the issue was fixed so it was no real inconvenience to us.

Superb location, loved being surrounded by forest and horses, the staff were super friendly and helpful, the room was gorgeously appointed with great colours and lighting and super comfy bed. The bathroom was magnificent with a large double ended bath and lashings of hot water. The bar is great and dinner was excellent. Breakfast was equally as good. All in all a fabulous stay!

The large lovely TV didn't work as it couldn't connect to the WiFi, cooking smells came into the room from the kitchen and the room was a bit tight for space, but none of this really spoilt the enjoyment of our stay.

My second visit to this Inn, and it didn't disappoint, super friendly staff, great food and beautifully appointed bedroom, plus a had a free upgrade, what's not to like. Just love this location, working in Ringwood each day, driving through the New Forest was a delight, my only complaint was I was working rather than making use of the local walks etc. Will definitely be back, next time to relax and not for work, thank you Charlie and the team.

The setting of the hotel is phenomenal and a genuine surprise. I'd booked last minute but am fairly familiar with the New Forest, but this was something special. Tucked away in a very quiet area, it offers a beautiful drive to the location, well signposted when you're near. Parking is easy and feels safe. Check-in was smooth and friendly and the room was well-appointed. Not a sprawling space, it's a well-sized room for a comfortable double bed, plus en-suite. The bed was comfortable and very neatly made with all the typical accoutrements of the room laid out well and cleanly. The bathroom was exceptional with a very well-sized bath. I'm a hair over six feet tall and found it to be a good size to relax in. The supplied toiletries were filled and good quality with a pleasant perfume and the towels were soft and neatly presented. We slept well and suffered no noise or interruptions throughout the night. Breakfast was exceptional, well cooked, nicely presented and an all-around premium experience. We had dined at the High Corner Inn the night before and in retrospect, found breakfast to have offered the better of the dishes, though that's not to put down the dinner service.

There's nothing that comes to mind to moan about that the High Corner Inn could actually do anything about. The bedroom window view is of the tidy courtyard, not the views of the rolling New Forest you might expect. But it's barely a 2-minute walk to a stunning viewing area so even that isn't worth much of a complaint.

Super comfy super king size bed, cosy well decorated room, Robert’s radio with classic FM left on for us was a lovely touch, gorgeous breakfast, cosy areas to relax and have a drink in the pub. Friendly staff, all food (breakfast and dinner) was great. Love that it was dog friendly!

We didn’t have a shower (bath only) in our room, some small areas that could have been cleaned a little more thoroughly (extractor fan in bathroom and radio top). Some of the staff could have had a little more training when it came to taking orders and making cocktails but no major issue.
