This place was magical, from the initial arrival to our departure. It's run by an amazing sweet couple, who clearly have filled the place with love. It's spotless (and I'm a perfectionist), has so much character and definitely would be somewhere we'd love to come back to. On specifics, parking was super easy, if not available right next to the property there is availability a few minutes walk, the room was beautifully decorated and a small bed for our kid was set up in advance (even though we unfortunately booked it quite last minute). Every single small thing was thought of.

Absolutely nothing...

Charming hostess. Delightful home and garden, delicious breakfast, very comfy rooms - and twin beds! I’m travelling with my grand-daughter (14) - why do nearly all hotels expect an adult and child to share a bed?!! When did That become an ok thing?!

Sadly although a lovely guest house and garden, it’s on a very noisy ( traffic), and unattractive street. Also only one fish and chip shop, and a below par pub within walking distance for evening meals. Not the fault of the owners.

The family provides delightful services and assistance. Very clean establishment. Breakfast is lovingly prepared by adult son Mark and served by his always cheerful mum. Patrick the Dad does the dishes. Take some time to explore the magnificent gardens in the rear. Serene and well kept. Bus stop from.town literally outside their front door is a great convenience. A magical walk to town over the Marsh along Broken Bridge trail is a must, even if a little longer than walking on the street.

My groundfloor room, #2, might have used a desk light near the bed. Never saw the upstairs rooms, which I suspect were better appointed. Mine was a little Spartan, but it bebefited by opening onto a lovely small coutyard. There are only 2 bright unshaded room lights that are a bit much at night for reading or watching TV. Some additional cushions to sit on in the garden or chairs might entice visitors to enjoy the gardens. I like porridge in the morning-oh well.otherwise we'll prepare English breakfast.

Beautifully preserved older building. Charming decorations, very clean and quiet. Bed quite comfortable. The hostess who greeted us – Hillary – was warm and welcoming, made us feel very much at home. Everything in the room was exactly as described on Booking.com. Breakfast was included – and it was absolutely delicious!

One thing that absolutely surprised us was that the door to the toilet had a large window. It was partially frosted, but still had a pretty clear view of the toilet for someone standing on the outside of the bathroom door. Perhaps some kind of curtain could be put there to ensure privacy.

Friendy and comfortable B&B near the centre of Salisbury. A short walk down a nearby side road leads to the water meadows and the city centre is within easy reach. The property is near a main road and although our room was at the front, we were not distrubed by the traffic. The room was large, clean and tidy and well furnished. Guests can make use of a large sitting room and there is also a wonderful garden. Full English breakfast was excellent. Free private parking available at the front. Very welcoming and friendly staff

Everything was great

Marc and especially Marc’s mother were fantastic. We really enjoyed the breakfast and few chats in the morning. Marc was fast and professional to solve any of our needs. The property, the living room and the gardens are gorgeous.

Few things but acceptable: the bathroom door in out room should be checked and the bell ring/clock could cause sone issues if you are a late morning type.

I can’t say enough about how wonderful this bed-and-breakfast is in Salisbury and the host and his two amazing assistants. This comment includes the wonderful breakfast each morning. Without hesitation, I would return to stay with this host. My last comment would be to reflect on how personable and even professional the host is and again his two assistants.

Nothing could have been better. Let me repeat that: Nothing could have been better.

Beautiful house, tastefully decorated, comfortable sitting room and large bedrooms. Staff were exceptional, friendly and very knowledgeable regarding the area and places to visit. Breakfast was freshly cooked using quality ingredients. The house was very clean and tidy. 20 minute walk into the centre of Salisbury. Wide range of good quality pubs and restaurants.

The Old House is a hidden gem that certainly deserves to be experienced. It offers high quality accommodation set in a tardis of a building that begs to be explored. This a family run business and the atmosphere is one of friendly efficiency that fills you with confidence. The breakfast is excellent, with choices of cold or cooked food. Situated about 15 mins walk from the railway station and on a bus route (PR3) from the city centre that stops outside the hotel. There is off road parking if required. If you want a low key stay that is relaxed and easy then, The Old House is the place to stay.
