The hotel was charming in its decor, a refurbished old building. My room was small, but had all the amenities I needed (but see comment below). The reception staff were lovely, very helpful and the staff in the dining room were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was also a short walk to Guildhall Square and central amenities.

My single bed had a mattress that was a bit hard on my back. I have a back problem, but didn’t think to raise this with the hotel, as I booked at the last minute. The room would probably be fine for a younger traveller than myself (I’m in my 70s) or a business person.

It was absolutely spotlessly clean and it was really well maintained throughout. It was a wonderful renovation that showed off the original Tudor features of the original building. Very well designed, stunning. The bed was very comfortable, with lovely fresh bed linen on the bed. Myself and daughter both slept like a log, without any disturbing whatsoever. Aircon was on in the room during 35degree heat. Breakfast was really delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Well worth £13.50, as you get a choice of full English breakfast, including coffee or tea and toast, plus continental breakfast, with fruit and orange or apple juice as well. Best night sleep I’ve ever had away from home.

There was nothing negative to report about at this hotel. All positive things.

Great location, comfy bed in a quiet room (306), large bathroom with good towels, air con in room, good breakfast. Handy paid parking nearby if you can’t get in the small free hotel car park. The lady who checked us in/out was particularly helpful.

Our room was in the upper storey which meant that there was a low sloping ceiling over one side of the bed - a few bumped heads occurred! The shape of the room also meant the TV was in an awkward position. The hotel is a historic building with a quirky configuration, which made it interesting but quite hard to navigate to some rooms. None of these factors would stop us staying again.

The location was superb, close to everything. I was impressed with the high level of professionalism from the receptionist to be precise Emily. She's warm, engaging, and willing to help and explain everything and offer some alternative without even asking. You could see she loves and respects her job. Overall, I had a nice stay. No noise at all. Quiet and peaceful during the night.

When I stepped out on Wednesday, I've asked the receptionist, I forgot her name, but it was not Emily. To ask housekeeping to vacuum my room and I came back, it was not vacuumed at all. They just refreshed my bathroom, and I was not pleased with that at all. Honesty is the key.

8 of us checking in at the due time of 3pm, arrived at 2.55 to be told none of the rooms were ready and to go get a drink at the bar, Couldn't get a drink as same person on reception was also doing the bar. 3.01 all 4 rooms now ready, along with everyone else waiting in reception?? I know they charge £20 for a early check in but not being allowed in until bang on 3 just didn't start the experience well.

Our bed was hard and sloped. Pillows were thin, not a comfortable nights sleep.

We loved this hotel! Super-friendly & helpful staff (who went above & beyond to add special touches to our room, for a special birthday!), a great bar area with plenty of choice & a fantastic breakfast - really excellent quality. Our room was on the small side but absolutely fine & it had everything we needed - including air con, which was perfect for how warm it was! It was also extremely clean & the shower was great - lots of fluffy towels too!

There was nothing we didn't like about this hotel & we'd be happy to stay there again & would definitely recommend it to others. The car park was very small but we were lucky to get a space!

A welcome drink on arrival was a pleasant surprise. Room was a little tired but exceptionally clean Drinking water in the room was very useful. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast the next morning was very good. Staff were very friendly

Our stay was perfect, the air con was a great bonus as it was a very warm day/night , the food looked good even though we didn’t eat there as we had a family event to go to but would definitely eat there when we visit again , the drinks at the bar was very reasonably priced and the staff where very friendly and helpful , a lovely clean friendly place to stay

There’s not that much parking but there’s not much that can be done about that but other then that I can’t say that there was anything I didn’t like about the property

Great location. Everywhere in town was walkable, one block from city center and Stonehenge bus stop. Great helpful staff. Good internet. Free welcome drink.

No lift. If you have any disability, only stay on ground floor. Lots of narrow stairs, confusing layout. I have bad knees and with no luggage assist, made it difficult. In my room, shower was hard to step in due to being so high from floor, no shower mat to prevent slipping once in or trying to get out. Not trying to put down hotel for its stairs but I realized it was a big factor in my review. If stairs are not a problem for you, very nice guesthouse.
