It was very handy for the centre of Salisbury and the bus stop for the rail station. The room was a good size and the bed very comfortable. There was plenty of coffee/tea sachets and even ear plugs. The shared bathroom and toilet was no problem and I never encountered anyone waiting for me or me for them. There's a private 1st floor area outside for smoking and the music from the bar gets turned down at a respectable time. I had a very warm welcome from the staff and the regulars in the bar below where I partook of a few pints of Thatcher's blood orange cider (who knew!). It was a terrific stay and I really enjoyed being able to do my own thing and to come and go as I pleased. Thank you Rob and staff.

Its a nice sports bar with a few small rooms upstairs and a shared bath room. My room was nice, and the staff at the sports bar were very kind, friendly and really nice people to talk to.  The heating radiator in the room were non operational so it was very cold at night but I appreciate you have turned it on for a few days afternoon for a limited time and during the last day of my stay. The room door was difficult to open and close. It would be nice if you can turn on the heater in the room all the time and if you can place a door handle on the exterior of the room door.  Thank you for your hospitality and I really enjoyed my stay at the Huntsman Tavern and look forward to visiting again in the future. 

V central location, pretty backstreets, v friendly place (huge thanks to the wonderful Lou!), pool tables, jolly sports pub, good value, no fuss about anything. Room v nice with crisp bed linen. Working, hot controllable radiator on a chilly evening was a bonus! Was made to feel v welcome (my second visit). I'll def stay again. In the wonderful Room 5 with it's dual-aspect windows!

Other guests' hygiene habits in the shared bathroom not ideal but otherwise all was clean and shiny. Don't expect a fancy place but if you’re after good value, no-frills accommodation, this is the business

The reviews of this accommodation did have me slightly concerned, however, considering the incredible good value I decided to hedge my bets and I'm glad I did. The room was basic but more than suffice, with multiple good quality towels, multiple pillows, comfy mattress, kettle/coffee/tea station, storage and more. Other reviews mention noise complaints, however, being on the top floor the room was silent. I couldn't hear anything going on below, nor outside.

The only downside was that the sink in the room was out of order, meaning I had to use the shared bathroom more than anticipated. However, the bathroom was clean and perfectly fine to use. Would stay again.

I liked Louise who checked me in - she was wonderful, the location which is on the edge of Salisbury city center, the price, which you can't beat. The simplicity of checking in and leaving. Street noise (room Nr. 4) did not bother me, it was quite peaceful past 00:30 or so. My window was facing Bernard St on the second floor. But I guess other rooms should be similar. Please keep in mind that they have a pub on the first floor and you can hear music and people partying in the evenings, I have successfully slept with my ear plugs during those hours. The rest of the night is usually silent, so no big deal.

The sink, which is nice to have at your own room, was not draining well (probably temporary and fixable). Water temperature regulation in the shower (which is shared) was a little bit unpredictable and took some effort and time to get used to. Don't know about other rooms, but my door was slamming very loudly as it closes automatically and you have to wait for it to close, can't really be closed manually. Also I didn't find any plastic recycling bin. The gray carpet was old and had stains, but didn't bother me.

Friendly and Hospitable staff. They were really kind and helpful and have a great sense of humour :) Flexible with check in time.They let us check in early which was a life saver after spending the night out at Stonehenge summer solstice. And they let us stay in the same room regardless we made 2 separate bookings. Great value, all other accommodation nearby are charging at least twice what we paid here. Clean well equipped room with a kettle, sink and smart furniture. And a generous amount of tea and coffee provided. Good location 15 minutes walk to the city centre and train station. 9 minutes walk from the chatedral. There's a self-service Launderette (Washing Well) 10 minutes walk from the Tavern.

The staff was really welcoming, at your disposal if you need anything and even though it's a tavern the noise during night isn't that loud so you can sleep quite comfortably. I had one of the best best view on the street also so it was very enjoyable.

The bed was a bit small for me since i'm quite tall(6'3) but it was still very comfortable and the wifi connection wasn't really stable on my phone, it kept switching on and off the wifi. Other than these two points the rest was really good !

Well, I guess this is the first time I actually stayed in a room above a tavern, so that was kind of cool. I was there on a Monday night, which must’ve been pool night for all the guys, so that was fun to watch. But things quieted down by bedtime.

I am extremely sensitive to cigarette smoke, and maybe I detected centuries of cigarette smoke lingering, even though there wasn’t any current smoke I’m sure.

Because we are key workers in the local NHS Hospital the Tavern has ensured that we are a priority and allow us to reside with the Tavern long term to ensure we can work in the hospital and support the community with access to surgery and endoscopy procedures.
