Very tasty cooked breakfast, but continental choices such as the fruit and yoghurt were sparsely supplied. Very comfortable bed, roo. Was clean.

There was no hotel information in the room.- it is always useful to have menu information, fire escapes, reception number. Having lived in Salisbury prior to our stay, we know the city and attractions, but this won't be the same for other guests. Obviously short staffed on Saturday morning as tables not cleared away and food ran low at breakfast. The waitress did a great job on her own but she did need more help. Bedroom furniture not 4* ,- looked and felt cheap..

The location is great, five minutes walk to the city, public transport, especially buses it is right in front of the hotel. Lovely furniture and friendly staff that are willing and ready to help out.

Though the hotel is newly refurbished, I think housekeeping manager if there's one, should check the cleanliness of the rooms as there were too dusty, e.g. the table where they put teas and coffees( very dusty and I had to wipe the top and the kettle). Lots of hair on the floor in the toilet and the room. I booked for a week but room service just changed the bed without vacuuming, I had to ask them to vacuum the room as there were also cobwebs between the bed and small table near the headboard. This is just a constructive criticism and I think the cleaning can be improved, otherwise hotel furniture's top notch.

Great location to Stonehenge and Bath. The staff were very pleasant and exceeded our expectations. One example was upon arrival our room was one floor up stairs (no lift) and the maintenance worker stopped what he was doing and gladly took my 51 lb (22kg) suitcase up without asking or waiting for my husband to do so. Comfortable bed, convenient restaurant and beautiful bar and patio.

While it did have a fan and something to slightly cool the room, a more proper air conditioning would have been preferred since the area was having a bit of a heat wave in mid-June and we had come from cooler weather. Lots of fire doors to go through, but certain it is a safety factor for a refurbished older building.

Very happy with our room and en-suite. Pleasant staff. Good breakfast.

The spa facilities were only removed from booking.com platform after we asked where they were. On the roadside and in our room the hotel restaurant was advertising a fixed price menu. When we asked to see it the waiting staff were totally mystified! Lots of disappearing for ages to check. When I gave them the flyer which had been in our room they eventually crossed out a few items from the main menu for us to choose from but they then tried to charge the full prices anyway. Although there were several waiting staff, service for all tables was very slow and chaotic. At breakfast there didn’t seem to be enough staff! I will however say that we enjoyed the food.

Parts are undergoing refurbishment at present, which is why I didn't give "Excellent", else what could I give if I returned when it was finished. The staff were without exception lovely. The room was spacious & comfortable, the bathroom had plenty of space, excellent shower. Really good full English breakfast, plenty of choice, provided mustard for my sausages when asked. The only item lacking was black pudding, but I'll not complain about that, considering how far south Salisbury is! It's not the cheapest, but what I would expect to pay for a hotel in a tourist centre like Salisbury.

Nowt to do with the Hotel really - the room was so hot, even with the fan on full, but it was a heat wave & temps high twenties through the night. But I got a good sleep in the end. Then while I arrived from the station by taxi, I didn't think much of the local bus service. There's a bus stop near the hotel entrance, but both when I went down to the Cathedral & market place on Friday and when on Saturday I went to the service & meeting that was the reason for my stay, I walked, and no bus passed me at all (apart from ones that went to that popular destination "Not in Service"). OK, it's only around ¾ mile, but it was very hot & a bus would have been a relief. The only thing the Hotel could have controlled is the beer price, £7 for a pint of IPA. But I treated myself in the heat!

Staff very friendly and helpful. Beds comfortable room clean great location

Breakfast a bit sparse - maybe they were busy but half the hot buffet trays were empty and no muesli available. For the price the supplies provided in the room were less than adequate. only 4 teabags, no earl grey, no bottled water, no decent coffee - just Nescafe sachets and 2 very small Mal biscuits - that you usually get free with a coffee anywhere. No soap in the bathroom dispenser. I had to join their membership scheme to get free onsite parking, which again seemed a bit much given the price of the room. TV was only available on catch up services

Very clean, comfortable, modern, well appointed and tastefully furnished. Great location - a short walk into the town centre. Parking on site. Breakfast was very good. Staff very friendly and went out of their way to make it a memorable stay.

The hospitality tray was a little lacking - would have appreciated a bottle of mineral water. If you’re a light sleeper, take ear plugs - the soundproofing wasn’t the best (didn’t get much sleep due to guest next door unfortunately snoring) :( There was no heating per se, just a plug in radiator, which we had to use in the evening as it was quite nippy! However, it was effective and heated the room quickly. Breakfast was very good but please note the 8am start which is a tad later than we are normally used to.

Room and beds very comfortable. Very convenient location. We appreciated being able to park our cars and leave them during the day.

Not so much that we didn’t like but just a few areas that we would like to mention. We had some problems with our keys, one didn’t work at all and the other stopped working on the second day. Reception resolved. The bathroom smelt of drains which was unpleasant (room 208). At breakfast on the second morning, we arrived at 9.20 but the buffet was sparse. No eggs, no tomatoes, no baked beans, no pastries, no fruit salad. We managed to find enough to eat so didn’t go hungry and we didn’t want to make a fuss.

Large clean room, good breakfast, great staff. Easy walk to the city centre, bit further to the cathedral but still doable. Nice Waitrose nearby. Certainly no issue with car parking at the hotel when we went.

Restaurant was virtually empty, no atmosphere and unfortunately it was too cold outside to venture out to eat. I suppose that's one of the problems of going out of season. Food was I suppose okay for the cost but the wine was overpriced in my opinion. Heating in the room was a bit strange, a big noisy box (? heat pump) under the window which you couldn't use with the curtains closed plus a separate oil filled radiator. Of course if you went out they automatically switched off so room was freezing on return. Not a problem for 95% of the year I appreciate.

The staff specifically Katelyn was so polite and very helpful and understand. The hotel was lovely and clean and spotless. A very comfortable few nights spent here.

The hotel restaurant They are still advertising on the grounds outside the entrance and online the old menu. We got there for my birthday the menu had changed only one starter, one main for a vegetarian no vegan or plant based dishes and the food was bland and felt very rushed and was not worth the money so very disappointed. The breakfast scrambled egg had no flavour and this chief needs to improve the menu and taste his own food as it’s very disappointing and put more vegan and plant based foods on the menu and bring back the old menu. It was a massive let down for the hotel which was such a disappointment !!!!
