Excellent staff and service. Very close proximity to cathedral. Car parking was good and noise reduction in the room was excellent. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room were much appreciated.

Stairs to first floor, they were clearly indicated when we booked but we're still a little tiresome. The car park was excellent but not highlighted in the hotel description, or if they were they were hidden by current road works in the area. By the way I meant to point out that our room, 123, has a constant small leak into the bowl. Not a problem for us as it is silent but I dread to think what it is doing for your total water usage.

Really nice Double room spacious clean, good mattress, firm pillow, clean and easy to use showers , good tea/coffee facilities. Big TV in right position.

Drinks expensive at bar, corridors a bit grubby , could do with modernisation.

Beautiful new apartments behind the hotel itself, everything fresh and clean. Inside of hotel was again all quite new but very tastefully and period sympathetically designed. Location couldn't have been better, 2 minute walk across the road to the close and then the Cathedral. Multiple pubs and cafes in a 5 minute walk. Staff were the stand out the lady at the desk was really welcoming and helpful. Plus, unusually its dog friendly hotel as well. A refreshing change for a chain hotel!

Bed and pillows a bit soft for me, a choice would have made it perfect.

I loved the proximity to the centre and the ease of parking at the rear of the hotel. The room was spacious and quiet and the bed very comfy and big. The staff were so friendly and welcoming - it makes a big difference when travelling alone ( as a woman) to feel so welcomed and my cocker spaniel was extra welcome which also eased any worries I had about bringing him. The little rear garden makes a very pretty entrance from the car park.

I didn't like the furnishing or lighting in the bar/restaurant - it just wasn't cosy or tempting to eat there.

The staff were very considerate and gave us a room quite away from the centre of the hotel where there were various events which were noisy

No lift

Lovely hotel . Spotlessly clean. Great breakfast thanks to the two lovely ladies there. Very helpful nothing too much trouble. Restaurant meals were just amazing. All staff went out of there way to provide a atmosphere of loving what they did. Friendly & helpful. Must thank Georgina for sorting out our quiery about the bed. Went out of her way to help. . Also the lovely young man at checkout this morning. Thank you very much for a great week away. We will be back.

Nothing to dislike.

Room was very well set up and I particularly appreciated the bathroom lighting which included a lit magnifying mirror. So often room designers don't seem to consider the needs of a woman to see where she is applying her make up.

Coffee making facilities. Would have been nice to have a coffee pod machine. Who drinks that cheap Nescafe instant nowadays? No telephone to contact reception. Phone in corridor and in my caser about ten doors down from my room. No spare toilet roll. The room only had half a toilet roll when I arrived for two days stay.

Property was period and well maintained with a good feel about it It is also right in the centre of things and only a short walk to cathedral and shops Large car park at back of hotel made life easy

Only downside if you are in room at front of building traffic noise quite intrusive however late evening this dies down to almost nothing and we slept peacefully Stairs and no lift could be a problem to disabled guests but we managed in our eighties this is adequately pointed out when on web site

Really lovely hotel set in a beautiful historical town. The Mercure in Salisbury is a real gem. The staff went above and beyond. I suffer with autoimmune hypoglycaemia, after having a shower my sugar dropped very low. I alerted staff via the qr code in the room and within literally a minute there were biscuits delivered to me :) . illuminated bathroom mirrors 😍ideal for makeup application. I Will definitely be booking to come back and stay again. Would highly recommend.

The room heating was a little on the cooler side, but I needn’t have worried as there were also plug in radiators as back up. I just suggest if you are like myself and always cold then plug it in when you arrive to take the chill off. I didn't plug it in until about 1am as kept turning the heating up thinking it would warm up.

Firstly I want to say how June a member of staff at the hotel was so conscientious while we were having breakfast each morning She was so helpful and nothing was too much trouble keeping everything running so smoothly. Hopefully the management will see what a great asset she is to the Hotel. The gentleman that was also on the reception desk again was very polite and we were greeted with a smile something that isn't always the case when staying in the u.k hotels. Overall I would certainly recommend a stay in this hotel.
